Thanks Dan.
Really like your delivery, calm and precise. Will be watching this build with great interest.
I like how you use that UHMW block as a 3D square. I have a fleet of 1-2-3 blocks that I use in the same way.
That's a great idea. Maybe put a couple coats of wax on the 1 2 3 blocks to help with the non stick.
Thanks for inviting us into your shop!
Excellent video Dan!!!
Thanks Joe. I enjoyed watching you work on your wing today...great stuff.
Thank you.
Great stuff, looking forwards for the continuation of this build! Cheers
I was into aircraft modeling... putin and ruSSia the terrorists attacked my Ukraine... I don't fly now... there's a war...
Praying that you resume your hobby and for your safety.
Wow Awsome!!
th-cam.com/video/-VIQzVBMbRs/w-d-xo.htmlsi=Zv3gG6v5nXdEIgKW This is a link to a site that shows the planes in flight with a computer representation of the manuever flight path. Its an invaluable training tool for the pilots.
Would have been nice to see some flying not a lot of people.
Thank you for your input. There are many channels that provide control line vidoes of just the flights. One of my favorites is the one where the flight is traced on a computer map of exactly where the plane should be. It's great technology.
To be honest, you're not missing much. F2B flights all look more or less the same, unless you know what to look for. It's the MODELS that are really interesting to see. And the people, if you know some of them and who they are. What _I_ would have liked were some captions telling us who we were looking at. I see someone from Germany and an Australian. And it would have been interesting to see the results - don't know who won. Are the Chinese still dominant in the sport? Haven't been following this for many years, I wonder who is new and who has dropped out at this level.
The Chinese won the team standing but Italy won first as an individual. Thanks for your input and advice on improvement. I agree with you on giving more information and will provide that in the vidoes to follow. I took around 10 thousand photos in two weeks so there is alot to go through. On top of that I just got a new computer and software up and running so the learning curve is steep. @@iskandartaib
I was the best my neighborhood flying the Cox planes. We started with the PT-19 and I could fly all the Cox models that most broke on the first day. Actually I was the only one in my group that could master the P-51 or the MiniStunt. My friends bought them and I would fly them. They stuck with the PT-19 as it was easily fixed if something should break and very docile to fly. It was Cox's best marketing idea. We would go down to the highschool baseball field and spend whole summer days flying our Cox planes. My friend bought a Mini-Stunt(green) biplane. I went around in too many circles on a short control line. It was the end of the day, I was hungry, sunburned and dehydrated. The little sucker just did not run out of fuel and I became so dizzy, I fell over. I let go of the control handle and the MiniStunt took off over the 10 ft chain link fence and landed in the Bradley Pit land fill next to the J.H. Francis Polytechnic High School ball field in Sun Valley, CA. It was not broken ash the dirt was always turned over in that landfill. We moved onto other hobbies as we grew older. We never knew one could fly thr U-control like this. I learned later.
I’m learning to fly the pattern, so I appreciate the camera focused on the pilot so I can study how he moves the handle and gets into position for each maneuver.
Мастер!
Looks like inside loops
To someone who doesn't fly control line these pilot videos will seem unusual. I posted these pilot videos to show what is happening inside the circle. Stance and body placement are critical to a well performed maneuver. With that being said there is still different styles of flying for each pilot. Thank you for watching
@@WinshipModels Agreed!!!!
Indeed!
It would be nice if this video was on a split screen of this flight from the judges side of the circle.
Agreed
wow!
Great video! Good information. I was just wondering what power source you are using for your hot wire cutter? Take care
I am not him but reading about hot wire cutters - why I am here too. One rule of thumb I read was 30W per foot. So say 3ft would come to 90W. You van get cheap lab power sources from aliexpress etc. The one I was looking at was 30V and 10A, as power is Volts * Amps that comes to 300W ie plenty of reserve. Probably anything over 150W is plenty. Laptop power sources probably work too but you don’t get the ability to adjust per wire length. Lab power source (like looks on the video) has knobs for accurate adjustment.
@heikkianttila6296 This is great information ! Thank you for sharing. I had thought about using an HO model train controller.
@@gibstera5580 it might work, do the math. One thing I read was the actual cutting wire should be nichrome (NiCr) it can take the heat without weakening so it lasts way better apparently. Not expensive either I sourced some for about 7$ per 15 ft. This in Europe you might find even cheaper.
Excellent content and who would have thought.. Great job and thank you for sharing.
Thanks for watching!
how thick the wire is there?
.015 they are old solid music wire flying wires for control line flying.
Thank you! @@WinshipModels
Bellissimo 😍😍😍😍
The airplane and how the sunshine bounces off of the buffed out dope finish as it sits on the newly paved L pad at the AMA 2024 control line precision aerobatic model airplane nationals. If you live close to Muncie IN make the drive to the AMA site and watch some model airplanes fly.
Thanks for the update, Guy
You bet
Thank you for the compliment and droping by to watch.
Crap missed another live stream looking forward to your proof of concept and you sir are a true artist when it comes to making landing gear take care
Awesome work Dan!
Thanks!
Cool brazing jig. You always have clever solutions!
That jig was my way of brazing the horn after it was bent to an exact angle. It worked well for me. Thanks for watching and I'm looking forward to your craftsmanship.
I use there stuff too for over 45 years. Erie, Mi.
Thanks for watching. Which products do you use and what type of parts do you make? Eventually I will get around to putting a jog at my seams as you mentioned.
I did a little research and found some of your great stuff. I didn't make the connection at first.
@@WinshipModels nice talk we had

I heard that the Johnson paste wax has been discontinued. Are there any substitutes?

Very nice ❤
Nice work
It is the one thing I do where I hang out and talk with people of different political views, which we never talk about. So, I guess, that is a good thing.
Tres beau reportage photo ou il y'a des grands du vcc US et des avions de légende..... is good

Great stuff
After all that, not even a video... or is this the trailer??
Just a slide show. Getting a camera body that takes vidoes with the same lenses for this summers action. Thanks for watching though. Advice taken and agree.
This is a video platform not a photo site
Ok. I will give you your refund. Thanks for trudging through. Believe it or not I don't have a video camera yet that will take vidoes with the lenses I have. I'm planing on acquiring a camera this summer that will shoot video with a 500 f4 lens. These slide shows were posted as a learning experiance. Thank you for your feedback....well taken.
I truly remember this self affliction!!!! Round and round screwing yourself into the dirt and getting high on the fumes.. And doing it over and over!!! It was never fun. It was all about just being somehow successful for more than 5 revolutions.
Very cool
Beautiful aircraft! Wish I could build one half as nice. The craftsmanship really shows!

Awesome!
Outstanding.
I see you're upping your a game. What a great video! Take care
Video has been invented since this I guess.
Believe it or not I don't have any video of completed models flying or at the field. I will be getting a good used canon 80d that will solve the problem. I agree it needs video clips.
No, it's literally just a hobby - no need to sensationalize it.
You might be missing the point. The airplanes are the hobby but the people and friendships are not.
