I've tried selling used books. The problem that I had was that I found myself scanning a lot of worthless books. I will still sell used books. I just won't make them my main product.

You are so right about "no barcode" books or media. Most places we source are picked by other resellers. They usually only look at barcodes and disregard anything not easily comped. If you do the work and take some chances there's still so much great media to find.

That Cars listing you showed wasn't a sold listing it is still listed. Sealed or graded ones can go for that range but not used ones. The highest used one I could find that sold in the last 90 days went for $1,100 still crazy for a used VHS. Little over 2 years ago I found a sealed copy of Cars on VHS at a yard sale I actually didn't know it was that valuable. It was the first sealed VHS I had ever found. It sold for $3,750

Sometimes those ones that sell that high you want to go make sure their not a spamming seller. There are a lot of those that have no items sold but have listings for thousands of dollars and you got the ones who say they sokd items for high amounts for things that are not worth what it says. So make sure you go in and check. Just thought i would share

A few years ago, I was making a killing selling used anime VHS on Amazon. I consistently bought them from Goodwill for $1-$2, and most were $30-$40 on Amazon.

Being a huge fan of the original Swamp Thing that was on heavy rotation on HBO back in 1981/82, I was elated to learn that MGM was releasing that movie, rated PG on DVD back in 2002. I immediately drove over to Camelot Music and bought a copy the day of release. Little did I know that MGM made a huge error by releasing the International or Uncut version. The big uproar was the bathing scene where Adrienne Barbeau swims completely naked with Swamp Thing spying on her. That scene on the HBO version was cut short and no nudity was shown. However, this first release PG had left in a full 1 minute scene with complete nudity. It was caught and many folks had heart attacks seeing boobs; therefore, MGM quickly recalled that first release and repressed the movie, removing that nude scene. Is that first mistake release of the DVD have any real value.? Today, they seem very hard to find. Just curious if you are familiar with that situation and if you have the original release copy?

I don't think people have a clear understanding of what's about to happen with CD's, in the next couple years. CD's are going to go through the exact same cultural explosion that video games did. Hip hop, Metal, Rap, early techno, industrial, goth and classical. Especially classical.

I'm getting gated in more n more CDs seems every time I go out hunting. Few months ago, scanning a gated CD was rare, no common. I may be bout done with CDs.

There’s no way you are making good money selling used books on eBay lol. The market is awful and saturated with companies who are selling books at a loss, so they can include discount cards for different programs, that they make money on if you sign up. They don’t make money selling books!!! They make more money from referral fees; even if only a few percent of customers actually use the discount code they get inside their books. You can’t compete with that.

Big job moving.. I may be kinda done with amazon media.. returns drive me crazy. Sometimes they return wrong item, or no item, Takes Amazon 2 months before they will research.. hoping you forget. Keeping up to purge old items a pain.. they sent bunch back to me.
