In general, I'm not a big fan of the way this performance was put up. They are decent enough live but the effects on screen are for sure jarring to look at. Every once in a bit they would put the focus on either Pollard's face or eyes, and of course because he's the lead singer in this song, yet with the blue filter it looked a little uncanny and through the second verse and chorus his face looks like he spent some time of his life tanning uselessly. (Gotta say that they at least played well during "have a look in my eyes" lyric though, right on 0:42) But seriously, as much as I find blue eyed musicians kinda cuter, this blue filter just does not seem Pollard at all... besides, the first verse and chorus came off rather awk as Pollard sounded like it's that type of track where you need to sound eerie to give shivers to listeners, but this eerie came across as even more jarring, like "studio version vocals slapped on a live performance" jarring, but then again, it was fixed up this way for a TV show by people who edited this show so yeah. And oh boy the awkward mess centered right at the second chorus... All these guys backvocalling at once felt rather harshly sounding. Not to say that I hate both these guys and this song, but this one live TV performance for sure sounds somewhat stiff, with tiny bends only in a few parts vocally, and kinda too pompous on screen wise... that thumbnail alone is something I don't really want to stare at for very long :$ The actual song though... <3 not this performance, though. :f

so yeah, that makes it out to be a song that was frontly sung by Pollard all along :O

Any idea what the piece from 51:00 to roughly 55:00 is? I've never heard this before. Almost seems like something from TRTRTS.

musique sympa, j'aime bien, mais alors, quel éclairage de scène naze!!! C'est ultra sinistre, tous ces mecs en noir, dans un décor noir, avec une lumière blanche et crue : ce spectacle est d'une folle gaité et donne envie de se jeter sous un train... C'est probablement pour être certain qu'on comprenne qu'ils sont intellectuels d'avant garde, et qu'ils font de la VRAIE musique , eux... (A comparer avec Richard Bona, qui arborait fièrement turban jaun vif . Lui, il est loin de ces tics d'intello branchouille façon Télérama.).
