      Hi. The MvHR unit needs a condensation drain and to get the fall needed the unit had to be raised on a plinth. This compressed the amount of space we had above the unit making it harder to squeeze everything in above it (especially with the baffles for sound reduction - the crinkly silver sections). I would have liked the unit to be nearer the sinks drain (in the utility next door) so the unit could be lower. We could have had the ducts coming out from the side of the unit but that didn’t work with other equipment in the room. Anyway, with the reduced working room I would have liked to organise the grey ducts more efficiently through the posi joists so they were in the correct places to go into the manifolds. I would have also insulated the ducts running through the loft more efficiently as they loose lots of heat. I just put them under the normal loft insulation but I think if I did it again I’d lag the pipes themselves before putting the loft insulation on top. This is something I could go back and do ……

      @helenhenlow7520 10 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Hi. Phone and wifi are very badly affected by the foil barrier and foil backed PIR insulation boards (not helped by poor phone signal in darkest Shropshire). When we got broadband in we could finally wifi call and putting wifi boasters round the house and in the loft, outside the foil membrane helps.

    • @helenhenlow7520
      @helenhenlow7520 10 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Hi. We used Omni board and found them easy to install. They provided a layout plan but the plumbers did their own thing in the end (I checked no runs were too long). The plumbers also replaced the pumps with their won preferred brand as they thought they were superior. We are happy with the board, the only thing I would change is the overlay we used (under the engineered wood flooring). I had to choose that quickly and although it says suitable for underfloor heating I think it was rather dense and if I had more time to research I think I could have found a better alternative.

      @simongeorge2505 12 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@r3m0dul8 Thanks for the comment. Two reason, firstly I’m not running a commercial data centre and even then most of the stuff in there does not need 10GB/e capacity let alone 25 or the 40Gb/e we tend to now deploy. Those would also need fibre runs and the relevant SFP’s . That would be ok on the switch end but on the consumer end 90% of products, like your TV do not have fibre connection, so I’d need adaptors and those would probably drag the speed back down to 1Gb/e anyway. But the main reason is In deepest/darkest Shropshire we only get 30Mb/s download anyway. I could go to a Starlink I suppose…. The cable is mostly Cat6 so that’s capable of 1Gb/e per strand so with 16 active pots I’ll always gate on the incoming service anyway. The reason for the patch panel was always so I could easily swap out components like the switch if I need to. The Ethernet went in with the structure so I could check the runs and test each of them as the went in. No issues. The only issue I have at the moment is WiFi out in the garden. The airtight structure as I feared blocks a lot of the signal and even with the loft extenders I’m only getting about 10m into the garden. I’ll fix that in the summer with a couple of external extenders (I ran a couple of additional strands to the loft space in case these were need, so hopefully I don’t need to pierce the air tightness again. Cheers Simon

    Great Info, thank you much appreciated. Just found this channel and now I’m really enjoying it binge watching catching up. Lots of useful information. I hope you don’t mind asking few more questions. How did you get on with that paint gun? I’m not at that stage but was in two minds about it. Also with your soak away that was a great idea adding that trap to the rubbish, I think I will do that too. Did you use the soak away crates? I heard you said you filled it with gravel after do you have to do a proper base for that or do you just leave it on the Soil and then fill the hole up gravel and Soil on top after it’s been membrane. I think this channel could do really well. I also watch the Aidan project he’s doing a barn conversion. That said, we plan to put in another 150mm when we get the chance at least over the master bedroom as that seems to cool faster than other upstairs rooms.
