I just ran across this video and I had to watch it. And I hit the thumbs up. I have an '83 240 with a stick-shift and a total of 396,500 miles on it. Its odometer is still working. But the motor was overhauled at 197,800 miles in Fall 1991. The 300Ds I've learned were always far more difficult to rebuild in a way that the whole motor including the rings would hold up for another 200K+ and could no longer even be done. Since then, I've been avoiding the 300Ds unless it's a post '81, a Turbodiesel. Maybe this vid will help me to rethink that a little bit "Vito's Garage" is another TH-cam channel that I've watched. The host of that channel is also in Oak Harbor. And I gotten in touch with him a little bit, too. And I'm in Bremerton which is just within 3 hours away from Oak Harbor. And the 560SLs & 560SELs are also 2 of my favorite Benzes of all-time, as I also grew up thru the 1980s.

Nice! Be careful or you’re gonna get addicted lol ! I see myself about 2 decades ago with the number of Mercedes’ on my property (I’m actually down to 28 classic MB’s from 37 lol). I fix too many new Benzes to ever even consider the thought of purchasing any plus it’s always fun to just drive anywhere with any of my old schools and EVERY DAY it’s at least a good 2-3 “thumbs up “ compliments etc that confirms my statements to people that ask me when riding along with me “Why do people keep looking at this car?” My answer is always: The classic Benz commands respect and it’s fortunate that you are here to witness it 😂. #BenzAddict #ClassicsCrew

I have an 02' and 03' e55 AMG and hoping to expand my collection with the w116 & w123! Prevenatative maintenance on these cars especially the AMG's are well worth the costs and are easily done DIY. Trickle chargers are mandatory to keep the modules from draining and killing the batteries if left parked for a couple days. Next project for is going to be a diesel to wvo conversion when gas prices are gonna skyrocket next month.

Old polluting junk. Wait til you next garage bill. Better buy some KY, lol

I DON'T HAVE MERCEDES, for some reason the second hand volvo I bought had mercedes radio in it (i do kbow that the people I bought the car from also had mercedes cars) so the vin number not possible for me to get

OH WOW!!! The collection is coming along nicely!!! The Cl55 is one of my FAVORITE cars of all time!! You absolutely STOLE it!! I need to come out west and get a few finishing touches for my collection. The examples you've shared appear to be in WAY better condition and cost than what we have available in the East Coast. For the Cl55, there is a "sensor box" you can buy from Strutmasters that eliminates the red ABC warning light. I'm really enjoying your growing collection. You are inspiring me to got back to work on mine!! Congrats again! I'll be watching!

Cause the dam airMatic has been ripped out or maybe jus the fuse so someone could get it cheaper at the auctions and by cheap I mean 2k…. we had a 2012 x5 35i for 10 years that only needed oil changes and tires. only complaint is the creakiness of the interior panels everything squeaked. otherwise stout vehicle

i love love the simplicity of it! But i would need power windows locks and a/c. Cadillac and Lincoln owners would laugh... $17,000 (orig msrp?) for this mercedes and no power windows locks and ac???? i love it!!! it's the perfect size. cute little diesel engine and plenty of room to work on it.

Wow! For the price it is in REALLY REALLY great shape! I have an ‘82 300td and recently had to get the transmission rebuilt, but I hope the service needed is on this one is just some maintenance… the engine seems like it’s running strong, great 240d!

Fantastic. I couldn't believe the condition of that car. Far nicer than both my 81's that I had some years ago. But then I noticed it only has 151K on the odometer. Both mine were over 300K when I bought them. When I unscrewed the oil caps on both they would shoot out of the engine bay like bullets. I love that color combo too. So 70's and that paint will look great once it's been cut and polished. In my opinion the 123 240D is the greatest car ever made. And I'm not kidding. One day I hope to be able to acquire another.
