Day 59: Playing Chess Everyday Until 2500 ELO!
This is day 59 of me playing chess everyday until I reach the rapid rating of 2500 ELO!
Today I was having the black pieces and my opponent opened the game with pawn to e4. I quickly responded with pawn to c6 and we entered the very solid Caro-Kann defense.
The position was balanced and equal out of the opening, but I was attacking him on the queen side and trying my best not to get checkmated on the king side.
Make sure to watch the video until the end to see if I managed to win day 59 game!

    Hey brother , good game , i play the caro myself and i think in the exchange variation it is pleasent for black to eliminate whites dark squared bishop to prevent the anoying pressure it puts on the dark squares on the queen side because usually you want your rooks on b8 and c8

    35.44: "Even Nf6 is kind of weird allowing e5, but e5 is not really good." But why would you say that?. I consider 6.e5 to be the best move...or at least 6.a3 and then 7.e5. I was wondering why you didn´t play these moves since both of these moves come with tempo, which is crucial in this playing style, I believe. I was also surprised you played dxc5. I would have thougt that´s a no-go. I think there´s the "pawns only take pawns towards the center"-thump-rule in these tactics especially when it comes to Black´s expected c5 flanking attack. Interesting game, nonetheless. Your opponent reminded me of how my late 90´s chess-computer would try to play against me on its highest level. Except, of course ...my chess computer would always lose. Lol.

    • @forky_chess
      @forky_chess 10 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Thanks for your extensive feedback! Playing e5, when your bishop is on f4 already seems kind of weird for me, because I can't push pawn to f4 and f5. Also playing a3, just bishop takes knight and some pawn storm will about to happen, opening your king. For taking c5 I have no excuse, I thought it was a free pawn, but I completely missed Qa5 fork. Even if I would be able to defend c5 pawn, taking on c5 is always a bit tricky opening the c-file! Thanks for your commentary, it means a lot to me :)

    Thrills and spills with Forky Chess! When your opponent only had 17 seconds left, how come he suddenly had more than 17 seconds in his next move?

      Well we both get 10 seconds increment every single move, so if you make a move with 17 seconds then you will have 27 seconds for your next move basically :)

      @@forky_chess Aha thanks for explaining. I'm playing Blitz games of 10 minutes each player and I've not noticed these 10 seconds increments, maybe they don't apply to this category of game. I've run out of time on several occasions on the brink of winning, it's very frustrating!

      True, that move was very bad, but I guess he was afraid of some checkmate attack :)

    Nice game so far. I like your thought process, man. I enjoy in general the straightforwardness of your thought process explanations. Keep it up. From your games that I have seen, it does seem like you always have very good positions out of the opening, and then blunder sometimes later on; that's my observation.

      Thanks man! Yeah I think your observation is completely true and correct! My opening are decent for my level, but I do blunder sometime and that's what I am trying to improve :)
