Yale Lift Truck Technologies makes the case for automation
Warehouses, order fulfillment and distribution centers are filled with robotics and automation. From AMRs to robot arms and automated lift trucks, various technologies work alongside personnel in an attempt to make life easier for humans and meet business goals.
In this podcast, we discuss the expanding role of robotics and automation in the warehouse, and how ongoing labor challenges affect the organizational thought process on what type(s) of automation to consider for various processes. Join an industry expert from Yale Lift Truck Technologies (www.yale.com/en-us/north-america/) to discuss these topics and other talking points in this Robotics Applications Podcast episode, “Making the Case for Automaton:”
• Should organizations focus first on technology or processes regarding potential automation offerings (www.yale.com/en-us/north-america/technology/automation/applications/) ?
• What warehouse segments are ripe for new or further automation?
• What are some potential pain points or bottlenecks organizations should be mindful of when considering robotics?
Speakers:
• Kyle Smart, Sales Manager, Emerging Technology at Yale Lift Truck Technologies
• Tim Culverhouse, Editorial Director of Robotics 24/7, Peerless Media

Buongiorno buona giornata ciao grazie mille un saluto e ciao
It would fun to see a practical droid in a Star Wars film rather than CGI. The controller (a new type of acting category?) would be sitting behind the camera moving the droid and acting out its parts. Sort of how Yoda was a puppet (originally), but transcended the artificial to become a real character.
The original Star Wars didn't have any CGI. And yes, it was fun to see the droids.
@@mogdor That's not what I meant. Both original droids had actors portraying them.
How many days before they get a union?
Looks like the icon from Bad Robot Productions.
All i want is a gonk droid to follow me around to plug my laptop and phone in, dont need anything more fancy than that, so get working on that Disney, Gonks for all
something's fucky...
😂😂😂 шо то на дао роботы не справляются

Great. I would like to achieve similar results using the same robotic arm. Could you give me some pointers on how to go about it?
oi someone help me in the sysml plsss im crying
WHO'S FROM THE SYSML STUFFF LMAOOOOOOOO🤣🤣🤣🤣
For anyone wondering, the song playing in the commercial is “Dance of the Hours” from Amilcare Ponchielli’s ópera “La Gioconda”.
Excellent idea!
As a former order fulfillment specialist: I would have been fired for moving as slow as the bots in this video. Wow.
True, but note that this is just getting started. This is a demonstration, not robots in production yet.
How to order it
You can do a self-assessment to see if you qualify on the company's website: cionic.com/neuralsleeve
dude thats fucking sick
Very cool, love the trim on the droid
⏫this guy gets it.
Now all they need is for that machine to mash the avocado so they could let go of more people.
NICE

Is this available for buying at the moment? I meant to use it in space applications. Thanks
😍👌
Yeah.....but can it beat me in Dueling Dragons????
So basically these are remote control forklifts, interesting concept.
Our reach trucks are fully autonomous but there is an operator who can remotely take over if the truck needs any assistance. It's trained to ask for help as part of it's machine learning capabilities, continuously improving over time, and recording the actions the operator takes. The remote capabilities, when used, also allow the operator to stay out of harm's way but never having to step foot on the warehouse floor.

Well,,,, if you can't be good, be brief.
Hey! Great video!! Want more likes? -> 'promosm'.
And the entire time these corporations are still spewing the narrative that no one will lose their job because of robots.
What if the package is damaged? Can the robot see that? Or if the item falls on the floor - can it pick it up?
My understanding is that cameras watch for exceptions or mishandled items. Some handling robots are capable of reaching for dropped items.
Cool robot, but they still have to transition it to picking out of an Amazon Robotics pod with potentially a million little items inside that all look identical. Then they will have to integrate it with the ARSAW machines, so it can alert someone when something eventually goes wrong with the ARSAW. I don't really see this getting implemented soon.
You are right. You get a lot of little items sometimes and sometimes you have to scan every item to get the 1 correct one. It will have to employ ai and alot of dexterity. I see alot of amnesty work with this. It’s a good idea for heavy items
I am 58 and this is the work I have been doing for 40 years and body is feeling it. Let's hope this thing learns fast and get it into warehouses. Don't want people to do heavy lifting for 40 years believe me your body will thank you.
This year at Automatica I saw a startup doing a similar thing. It worked like 2 times out of 10. The precision of the sparrows' camera system is insane.

damn I thought it was sorrow at first, woulda been way more interested, cool retractable suction cuppy thing tho
24-7, no PTO
AMBISORT better than this
Amazing how it creates all that stuff from one yellow bin to fill 4 grey bins of the same size! It's also a mgician, apparently!
well, it seems I will lose my job
Set a rule for yourself: Don’t do any type of work that a robot can do.
@@the_platform What kind of work is that. Frankly it's hard to imagine, what type of work robots won't be able to do in 10 years. Except the jobs where human contact is vital : psychologists, social workers, etc...
unless you forfeit your health insurance and lower your wage below the robot's price and maintenance/electricity cost
@@MrSchweppes robots arent fluid as humans nor can adapt to new situations. however robots will replace unhealthy individuals , unless government stop forcing employers to require health insurance
Surprised it’s this slow. Human brains are amazing.
Human brains need sleep
It's slow but works 24/24h
@@ryo1999 Yeah, that’s definitely valuable.
@@miked2301 You are seeing the first stage. It will get faster. All their robotics have improved over time.
It's a prototype and I'm sure it could go much faster. As of Nov. 2022, the human world record for solving a 3x3 Rubik's Cube is 3.47 seconds (which is pretty amazing!) However, there is a robot that can do it almost 10x faster. th-cam.com/video/8ZBP0n6yeQo/w-d-xo.html
