When you press the NRC you are switching it between on in receive only and on in transmit and receive and transmit only and off .Holding it in will quickly take you to the NRC setting level 2 is a nice setting

The NRC is very good. I normally run mine on number 2, occasionally 3 if the noise is bad.

My 1st radio back was during Lockdown 2020, i bought a CRT Xenon, out the box 2.8w, Secret Menu Activated, now does 8/10w, never had a complaint with the radio. Do like the new Thunderpole T-X hand-held cb, non in stock until September though.
