elo 1200 here. would have played exactly the pawn as you thought about at 2:26. pawn to D5. If he does en passant, you take with your knight. he lost a pawn that he invested multiple moves in, you lost a pawn that didnt cost so many moves already in the early game and your knight is safe AND in the middle. If he takes with his knight (which was the reason you didnt want to do the move in the end), you just take with your queen. and the knight is also defended. its plus/minus zero. but you dont lose a move trying to get the knight back and to the outside. and additionally you have a queen in the middle. OR his nasty pawn removed. either way you seemingly win a move or two in comparison. maybe its not the best stuff. but i would have played that cause why not
