      My only gripe is that there's VERY LITTLE you can do to customize it if you're into that. It's has no competition in ride comfort in my opinion. The handing takes no time getting use too but slow menuvering is something different.

    This is definitely going to be my next purchase. I had a 2006 Yamaha Royal Star and put 100,000 miles on it. Just recently got rid of it. But I am itching to get back on a motorcycle and my choice is a Yamaha. I also had a 2014 Harley Sportster that was nice but gave me more problem and wasn't a comfortable ride. I bought my Yamaha Royal Star even after all my buddies thought the bike was too big for me being only 5`6 and 185 lb but once you get moving the weight doesn't matter. I hope you enjoy this bike I can't wait to get mine be safe

  • @samueljeppsen9785
    @samueljeppsen9785 ปีที่แล้ว

    Another thing, be glad it's air cooled. Bikes, like cars, that sit for long periods of time, if you don't get around to riding it, have water pump and radiator problems. Don't worry about the heat. You get used to it real quickly. Guys who complain about heat from V-twin's, have never ridden a Harley.

  • @samueljeppsen9785
    @samueljeppsen9785 ปีที่แล้ว

    And an extra note, if you're interested, your rear rim will easily take a car tire. I have one on mine and love it. Car tires require a little learning curve, but they easier to handle than riding 2-up. So no sweat to get used to it. And you can take any corner you want to, as easily as on a bike tire. The big advantage of a car tire is milage. 35 to 40K instead of 6 or 7K. I ride way too much to be able to afford bike tires. On my Harleys I run Michelin Commander II's. 20K tires. I found the Dunlop American Elite for the front really works well, another 20K tire. The Bridgestone's your riding on, will last 7 to 10K. Anyway, you've got a great bike.

  • @samueljeppsen9785
    @samueljeppsen9785 ปีที่แล้ว

    I own two Harleys and a Yamaha Stratoliner. The 1900cc big V-twin prior to the Eluder. Love them all. But like you, I like big V-twin's. I absolutely love my Harleys, but love my Liner the best. You made a good choice. You won't be sorry. But I have to disagree with your choice of the best touring bike. The Goldwing is the best. And no, I've never owned a GW or a Beemer but would put my money on the GW. But neither are my style. But both are good. And if I could, I'd buy another Yamaha. The exact bike you have!! Great choice!! And what was that you said??? "6 foot, 6 inches???" And a "size 14????" Holy crap, mate!!! :-)

    • @bigwill3696
      @bigwill3696 ปีที่แล้ว

      My pops has two GW's and swears by them. The best cruiser for the money is what I didn't emphasize in my reference to being the best cruiser. Obviously if your at the top of the class for time than not it qualifies the GW, hands down. The thing runs as smooth as a sewing machine, it's dependability is unquestionable and the styling is always top notch!

      I have a Star Eluder. The venture/eluder does not have the take off/pull of a properly tuned M109 however despite it's size the venture/eluder handles leagues better on twisties. It's so perfectly dialed in that the only thing preventing you from coming in thru a corner hot af is the floorboards. Gas mileage is pretty decent on the highway in the 60-80mph range gas fixes between 60mpg-40mpg. Cruising at 137mph (which is the highest I could push it) it drops to 8mpg. Heated seat and grips work amazingly well during winter. However your gonna miss that radiator life during summer as this motor is air cooled and get very warm on the left hand side. Alot of folk fix this by ceramic coating their exhaust. Overall as a ride tho this bike feels premium. The infotainment system however is lackluster for 2022 standards but it works. If that's your thing trust when I say you'll be jealous of literally every other brand. Honda, HD, BMW and Indian infotainment systems put it to shame. Yamaha as a music instrument company missed an opportunity to install a more quality speaker system. Trying to balance the lackluster Bass out muddles the way too sharp treble, overshadows the Mids and ultimately crackles everything at higher volumes. The GPS is some random Garmin bs when in all honesty they should have had android auto/apple car play and later android updates on your phone stop the music controls from working correctly. There is also a major recall snaffu with the starter. Make sure that was done before purchase.

      Mate, you'll love the Eluder. It's not as popular as a Harley, because it's not a Harley. And if that's important to you, buy a Harley. But if it's not important to you, I can promise you won't be sorry for buying an Eluder. Yamaha, "the tuning fork people" make excellent equipment. The Eluder has the same but improved 1854cc motor and with a 6spd tranny. They turn 2800rpm at 75mph. About 3000rpm at 80mph. I own an 06 Yamaha stratoliner and love it. And, I love showing up on my Liner and parking it next to a long line of Harleys. About 40K miles on my Liner. I bought it a year ago with 11600 miles on it. The Liners were the predecessors to the Eluder and Transcontinentals. I like the Eluder better, less onboard cargo. And the 1854 motor has plenty of ponies and torque. I'd like to have one.
