Father Mychal Judge was not the first FDNY or first responder killed responding to the 9/11 WTC attacks..it was Firefighter Daniel Suhr who was killed by a jumper before Father Judge and before either tower collapsed.

Actually, the priest technically would not be the first victim. Most likely the first victim would’ve been whoever either died from being stabbed on one of the airplanes or probably one of the hijack pilots because he would’ve been the first one to die on impact when sending the plane into the side of the building and dying instantly on impact.

I thought the first victim was a firefighter hit by someone falling.

I'm in no way religious. We just aren't in the uk as the same way you guys are in the states but remembering the horror of that day and looking at this guys life and his effect on others . Knowing his story and the effects he had on others I'd say that he was truly deserving of cannonisation. And I'd argue he was a martyr it's my understanding he was hit by a jumper whilst adminestestering the last rites to a fellow firefighter.

I am sorry but I do not think it is right to list Father Judge as the first official casualty when hundreds if not a thousand souls were already destroyed minutes before he perished.

I think the photograph denigrates who he was and his position. I don't find it emotionally uplifting or anything like that. It's as if they are coldly posing and mocking him. I especially feel this as I heard they took him to a nearby church and placed him on the altar. Eeww.

In another earlier video when he was with men of the FDNY, I saw him moving his lips obviously praying. I'm sure he is in Heaven with God and he led others who lost their lives to Heaven. May his soul and the souls of all those who lost their lives in the 9/11 terrorists attacks rest in peace. 9/11 a day we will never forget. God bless America.

No matter what everyone says, truth is they built the Twin Towers for shit: weak and wobbly, sacrificing safety for speed of construction and lower costs, focusing on maximizing open space for businesses, with interiors made of drywall and plaster; not just the towers didn't resist but they took with them thousands who couldn't escape after their emergency exists collapsed while most of their systems failed immediately (like water sprinklers or the PA); and on top of all, their design was hideous. They fucked it up and thousands died. BTW, let's not forget about the jackass (whoever he was) that ordered everyone inside the towers over the PA to please remain where they were because of which many failed to escape before the collapse.

Its so asinine he was denined canon as a Saint. He did die for his religion, and the other point; becoming a saint requires the most devout morals? The "first victims" were Flt 11 passengers/crew and those in the WTC 1 direct impact zone.
