Omg yeah

We went on Monday the 10th June. We were expecting it to be busy, everyone had warned us that it was 'school trip season.' Even the guy at the Dublin airport car hire desk said "It'll be mayhem, full of schools." But it was really quiet, 3 or 4 schools on park, and few other people. Those school kids that were on park were very well behaved, not at all chaotic like UK school trip weeks.

The first time I took my friends, they were going back and forth for 3 days. They couldn't decide at all which, between the two, was their favourite. It's so close! Energylandia has the best 1-2 in Europe by far for me. Both incredible.

@@WB-kx7jw it’s not the first coaster I’ve ridden with this same layout, but it is a great layout. My favourite layout for a Vekoma family boomerang in fact. Not sure if Quest is my favourite version of this layout, for it’s beautiful tower around the spike, or Ekipa - Light Explorers, as it’s positioned over a lake and appears to dive in and out the lake. Either way, they’re both brilliant.

@@Flare0n we had to beg the operator to let us on, he was trying to say we shouldn’t ride it as we were all adults. Eventually he let us though!!!

You don't have to specifically seek permission at Emerald Park. That part of my description is just generic, to show that we'd never film anywhere where we are not permitted. Sorry for the confusion. At Emerald Park, as far as I know, it's down to the ride operators discretion, you're allowed to film with Go Pros if they're securely mounted, and the Ride Operator has no concerns when you board. It is a great coaster, those air time moments really surprised me with how strong they were. My favourite seat is at the back. I think if I went back to the park again this year, I'd marathon Na Fianna Force too. I liked Cú Chulainn, but Na Fianna is special. Glad you enjoyed it too, and thanks for watching / commenting. :)

Intamin accelerator don’t bother me in the slightest. Even modified ones (though I haven’t done TT2 yet.) It’s not the height or speed on this that makes it scary, it’s the ‘jankiness’ of that lift, and the way it leans! 🙈🫣

It really is!!! Give me a 300+ foot B&M giga or a 400+ foot Intamin launch coaster over this any day! 🙈😂

i ride this a few years ago and yes its terrifying! I thing because boat seems heavy and feels oddly overloaded.

it’s the lean for me. As you travel up, the boat leans to one side, if you’re on the exposed side of the boat when it leans, it feels really strange. Terrifies me!!!

On ride filming is permitted with chest mounted go pros / action cams, subject to the final decision lying with the ride ops team, so be prepared to remove your equipment if asked. In my experience though, if you got a genuine go pro, and genuine chesty harness, you’ll be fine.

There are so many people on these islands that don’t know the difference between the British Isles, Great Britain, and the UK, that it’s embarrassing. And to think we mock our friends over the Atlantic for their silly stereotype of having no geography knowledge. How can we judge if we don’t even know the names for the places we live? 🙈😂 For anybody that isn’t aware. The U.K is the political union between England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. The U.K is a sovereign country, however each of the nations within are also countries in their own right. Great Britain is the largest of the British Isles, encompassing England, Scotland and Wales. A common mistake is to include Northern Ireland. Northern Ireland is NOT located in Great Britain. (Hence why many people believe the Olympic team should be rebranded to Team UK!) The British Isles refers to all of the islands that make up this part of Europe. So Great Britain, Ireland, The Shetland Isles, Isle of Man, etc.

Given the Republic of Ireland does not recognise the term "British Isles" it very much is both political and controversial.

It’s not intended to be controversial or political. Ireland has ONE wooden coaster, (operating) so absolutely nothing to compare it to. Most of the world recognise these islands as The British Isles, as do we. It’s a geographical term, nothing more, nothing less. So if I’m going to compare it to the rest of the islands, that’s the term I need to use. To be honest, I didn’t for one minute imagine that Ireland wouldn’t ‘recognise’ the term. After all, it was a term given to the islands by ancient greek’s, and not one made up by the British to imply British ownership. Anyway, I don’t think ‘Best wooden coaster on THESE ISLANDS’ works as well… 😁

Noooo I would never dare!!! There’s not a lot of other coasters to make comparisons with in Ireland though. So as Ireland is, geographically, part of the British isles, that was the best I could come up with :) It’s a compliment, we have some good woodies over here in Great Britain. :)

@@GlenIEBOI44 But saying that it’s the best woodie in the Emerald Isle is like saying the TT is the best bike race in the Isle of Man, it’s the only race of note. Or maybe it’s like saying Ryanair is the best budget airline in Ireland. We all know it’s true, but it means nothing, so we say they’re the best budget airline in Europe. :) Honestly I meant nothing by it, other than to boost it as a ride by giving it a good point of comparison, and pitting it against Wicker Man, Megaphobia, or Grand National. (In all honesty, the video is underperforming compared to other P.O.Vs anyway, so I’m thinking of changing the title back to the simple descriptive title format I used for other P.O.Vs. Will give it a few days. :) )

@@GlenIEBOI44 Ryanair has taken me on hundreds of flights to lots and lots of countries. I would never be able to afford to travel to the places I have, and see the countries I’ve seen, without Ryanair. They’re not ‘good’ as such, but they are what they are, a reliable, cheap, airline. And as far as cheap airlines go, they absolutely are the best. I’ve flown absolutely loads of flights for less than I’d pay for a taxi to my local city, and only 3 times has a flight been late, always by less than 2 hours. I’ve also flown other cheap airlines, like wiz, Easy Jet etc, the only one that ‘was’ better, was Norwegian, but they went bust. Ryanair’s safety record is one of the best in the world, regardless of silly online memes. (I have had some firm landings, but that’s the 737-800 in general.) They’re cheap, they’re reliable, and they fly to almost anywhere in Europe. What’s not to love?

I do it all of the time on these off peak days, visit then leave for 2pm or 3pm... The whole point was that these days are so quiet, that if you're local, and visit regularly then 4pm is more than enough time. However, if it's your one visit of the year, or you've paid for the hotel, and the rides have reliability issues... Then it's not really enough. The video is also skewed by the fact I was filming, if I wasn't wasting so much time capturing footage, then I could have gotten twice as much done, even before 2pm. I don't understand how this is unfair when it was a positive outcome. 10 rides in 4 hours, plus time to eat and film is fantastic. Problem is, it's not always like that, and if you've travelled then you may be annoyed.

The park closes at 4pm during off peak midweek days in April, May, September and October. It does stay open later at other times. During Scarefest and Fireworks it’s even later at 9pm. Thanks for watching and commenting. :)

Definitely... The park is so easy to get to if you live close to an airport here, I am surprised the place isn't always full of Brits. Mind you, I know lots of people heading over there in the coming months, so it looks like Tir na nOg is doing it's job. Great coaster. Thanks for watching and commenting.

Hi there, I made this video with people like you, and situations like this in mind. Whilst 4pm is fine for people like me, who live close, can visit any time, and do visit all the time. It only takes some poor ops to mess things up. Also, if you’re not visiting 30 times a year, or if you’re paying to stay in the hotel, you’re going to feel short changed by a 4pm close under any circumstances. But if you are regular, some of these off peak days can be some of the best of the year, when you can hit crazy high ride numbers. The late closing still happens at Scarefest and Fireworks. The main issue people have is that it used to be 5pm or 6pm even on off peak days, but now in low season (April, May, Sept) it’s often 4pm!!!

And quite right that you should be excited, it's a fantastic addition, a top coaster for the British Isles, never mind just Ireland, and a solid family coaster too... The new area looks like it will be a top notch area. (It's already very pretty.) My only slight criticism, that I didn't want to dwell on in the video, was the unfinished state the area was opened in. HOWEVER, since getting home and looking into it more, I understand the position they were in, with delays, and needing to start start seeing a return on their investment whilst they continue the work. So I'm glad I didn't mention it much in the video, as I fully understand why now. Thanks for the pronunciations, I think I've got it now... Now more silly alternatives. Ironically, the way you've said to pronounce Cú Chulainn is the way I'd always pronounced it, for years, until my friend threw me off by saying it was 'Cu-lane.' So glad we've cleared that up, it's nice to have been right for once. And we had a great time thank you. One of the ironic things about these vlogs is that you often don't capture the most fun parts... Because you're too busy in the moment, having fun, to film them. Perhaps something I need to work on. What about Cu Chulainn? There’s commonly two different ways that English speakers say it. Cul-lane and Cul-an… Which is correct?

That’s what makes this park perfect for it. Only a 25 minute drive back to Dublin Airport, and then East Midlands Airport is only 15 mins from home. A nice small, relaxing, park too. :) Thanks for watching, and commenting. :)
