Hi fellow GI struggler here. Ive had one colonoscopy and two endoscopies at this point. I hated the prep, couldnt drink the liquid. The liquid is new. Theres some alternative methods, generally the old ones. You have to drink like a gallon of water with a bunch of dissolved laxative, which makes the water gross but better than the liquid. I got through only half of it and it was fine in the end, as long as you poop yourself clean. They wanted to pin my symptoms on IBS, but thankfully some follow up doctors who knew what they were talking about figured it out (the reason for the second endoscopy). I had two years of an infection in my small intestine. When it was finally cleared I was left with enzyme deficiences and now I can't have any type of sugar, so basically I cant digest food. Its been rough and were trying hard to find some way to get all these enzymes externally. Blood in stool is another problem altogether, hopefully those doctors are on the right track, just be careful how you eat after the antibiotics are over. You need to make sure they come back all at the same time and not have one gut bacteria get a head start, thats what leads to an intestinal infection. No anesthesia is crazy, props to you, I didnt even know they could do it without putting the patient to sleep. Also, to my knowledge they only make it through the karge intestine into the lower region of the small. The small intestine is basically impenetrable. I hope youre problem isnt there like mine is.
