Check out my vegetable Patch & how I garden with a bad back and Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome 2023
A tour of my vegetable garden where I talk about how I created it to help me garden without pain while living with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome.
I realised after filming that I didn't talk as much as I meant to about how the garden works for me with back problems and body pain. Sometimes when talking on the fly without a script I miss things 😊. The main point to help with back problems is the hight of the beds but also the width. These beds are 1200mm long x 600mm wide x 1000mm high. The hight is perfect for me as it is waist hight and the width not being too wide means I don't have to lean over the bed or reach out towards things. That is a big help too. Basically just having everything within easy reach is important. I get my adult son to do any heavy lifting. Things like moving compost to the beds he does for me. Anyway, I hope this was at least a little helpful and if you'd like to see more let me know. Suzy🍓

    I enjoyed your video. May I ask why you say not to use the baking paper more than once? Others say the same but I reuse it all the time and have no problems. And I use both front and back sides. So I'm just trying to understand if I'm doing something wrong. Thanks!

      Just do what works for you. I find it gets crinkly from the heat which and makes it hard to get a smooth finish. Also can get wax on it that transfers.

    Suzy, I'm having problems with the saucer. Should I seal it , paint it then decoupage it or no decoupage but seal it. I've sealed it with mod podge, painted, napkins, sealed and it wasn't waterproof. Ideas😢

    • @suzyscrafts
      @suzyscrafts หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi, i don't usually bother with saucers. Mod podge wouldn't be strong enough to seal it. If you plan to put live plants with water. I think you would need to use an oil based varnish (will turn yellow over time) or a boat varnish. Best if putting a live plant in your pot to keep it in a plastic pot as a liner or seal the inside with one of the above mentioned.

    • @suzyscrafts
      @suzyscrafts หลายเดือนก่อน

      Good question. I find if I cut the napkin rather than tearing it I end up being able to see the hard cut lines once I'm finished. Torn edges seem to disappear into the painted surface more seamlessly.
