Programming the Boss 200 Series pedals with MIDI is not for the faint-hearted. Each pedal has slightly different MIDI menus, which can make the process challenging. I’m currently editing a video series that provides a detailed walkthrough of programming the ES-8 switcher alongside several Boss 200 Series pedals. One of the pedals presented an unexpected issue just days before a show, which required me to adjust my approach and resolve the problem quickly. In the video series, I thoroughly walk through the programming process and address these kinds of challenges. With so many combinations of pedals, there are always unique outliers, but this series aims to clarify and simplify the process as much as possible.

The holey board it’s a way cool system if you plan to swap pedals and also have it secured at the same time. They come with great zip ties and plenty of them too.

I have also noticed any time it is not on a secured router and the cheap 2.4ghz wireless units are in play. There can be some serious fighting because the frequencies are so close. Great advice though, I did notice some issued when using a VPN or private browser.

It is a sleeper for sure. sorry for late reply Ive been busy building out a studio. The speakers in mine need to be updated for sure. I love having the option of a good 4x10. I do agree that hooking up to a 4x12 cabinet is also a bit of magic!!

It comes with the Strymon unit so its pretty plug and play.

It's my fun time to nerd out on gear!!! I Love music gear and have a vast sea of knowledge on the subject. It's just hard for me to stay focused long enough to get the point across. I'm working on that with scripting ahead of time instead of just dropping knowledge on the fly. That delivery works great in person, just not so well on video. I laugh my a$$ off each time I sit down to edit the footage.

What kind of tone are you going for?That’s a pretty versatile processor.

Copper sound pedals is who makes it. Any major US retailers should cary it. If you are not in the US I would check their website for international dealers.🤘🏼

I agree with you. I just don’t possess the skill set to make it look that vibrant in a timely manner. It got pretty close to what I wanted. I’ll have it down in about 3-6 months. Any tips or channels you recommend for this task?

Yeah, looks like there's tension in places it shouldn't be. Gives me a case of the uncomfortables.

I had to make some concessions to save raw cable in the build. Sweetwater only had 2 lava cable kits in stock and the build had a time crunch. I feel your inner turmoil on the crooked connectors. That point is totally valid. That being said the board is a little wabi sabi but it is rock solid. Thanks for airing the dirty laundry 🤣🤣

@@gearly_beloved nah, I can't be helped. When you get diagnosed with ADHD and develop certain OCD, you just accept life. It helps me a lot in my job as technician though. People know I do great work and don't question it.

So many late nights building a board should not have been this hard.

Thanks man it all came together for that day. The tones ,me and the player just hit the flow!! Check out the previous vid with the evh5150 and same cabs. It was such a stark difference we split the vid in two.

I hope it's not too hard. I'm hoping it's just a capacitor or small component that is easily replaced. I'll tear into it eventually to see what happened on the inside. I totally got my moneys worth, it's been around forever lol. If enough people want to see me tear into it I'd be happy to do so.

They have flown under the radar for most. The players that have jammed on and owned one, just have positive things to say. I’ll have to see what the difference is in your model. I’m curious to see what is under the hood.😄

@@gearly_beloved The version of the Classic 50 and 30 were designed by the same engineer that did Eddies 5150 line these amps are killer especially the first few years of manufacture they were on the edge in over drive mode and sound clean and sparkly in clean mode take pedals very well ! Later years had effects loops and toned down the edges if you ask me and ive owned about 7 total over the years . The heads are fantastic through a Marshall cab.

Yes you can, all channels can be multi tracked to your daw of choice. Now as far as studio sessions and setup just be mindful of what outboard gear you might want to use. Decide if you want to use outboard preamps or eq’s, or will re-amp for specific textures and tones. Or will you put them in the chain before the mixer to capture it on the way in. Both are acceptable options. Re-amping can save cash on equipment, because you don’t need to have several of the same preamps. You can individually send to preamp after recording it “dry”. Plugins are also a great way to utilize the ui24 in the studio. Along with the built in effects there are unlimited plugins for different applications as well tone shaping nuances. I was that 15 year old back in the day. That’s one of the big reasons I worked in music retail for almost 17 years. I never got the help or advice I needed. I made it my mission statement to help anyone with whatever crazy idea on tone. I made sure they would not make the mistakes I made ,going down pointless gear rabbit holes.

That actually didn't even cross my mind. Ive been using sharp knives my whole life and accept the risk. It was more my Dad, showing him how not to do things. LoL

I love the ui24 and have used it at many gigs and running many shows fully off of it. The biggest contender is the Behringer x32 air which is expandable. Or you can drop the cash on a Midas 32 and get nicer preamps and routing options. I recommend one of these 3 options as they are all tour proven! @@timehunter9467 There are advantages to a simple setup like that for sure. I have tried over the years to like that style of setup. But for me its features are lacking for most of my applications. Still a great board for most.

I'm guessing not that old. He practices 4-5 hours a day, so they don't last long in his world. I'll have him jump in the comments and answer if he can. I'd guess with the loss of attack there is 30-40 hrs on the strings, at the time of the shoot.

Thanks, we love rig rundowns around here. Not sure everyone else does. There is much to learn from other artists and engineers. everyone has their own process. You can record so many ways. Some tricks work for some and others have to go an entirely different direction.

I did not catch it in the headphones at the studio. All sound on the channel is live capture. I rarely have time for reworks in post. I should have individually bus tracked out, then I could have just hit phase reversal in post. Unfortunately I did not and just used L&R xlr out to my camera. I have now started to implement Daw recordings slowly. As I get more comfortable with new software I will be able to avoid in the future. Luckily you can still hear relevant changes in the tone. The sound could have been better for sure.

Thanks I still think I should change out the speakers to get slightly different punch. I'm just being nitpicky on this but it will help for me.

Way cool my man I think I want to change the speakers out. I want just a little more punch on the low end. The speakers that are in it are just so worn in. But even back in the real early days it sounded great. Even though it was a crappy shotgun mic

@@higstravels You should be able to go into the setting menu under the global section. You will change the “headphones out” to *aux instead of Master/Solo. That way when you go into your Aux sends you will have individual output controls with a little more gain. You can also try hitting the UI at the top right of the mixer display and hit the “aux masters” button and access the independent volume slider for headphone volume. At least that’s how it works on the ui24. Not all of the functions are the exact same. Let me know if you get stuck I can try and do a quick short on it. The mixer is pulling band duty for a bit so I don’t always have easy access when it’s packed up in a touring trailer. Happy to help when I can though.

I believe the issue is with the pm1 there is a stereo mix version and a mono dual mix one. If you have the dual input one it takes two inputs that can then be mixed left and right. Some users for example prefer one ear has a click, and mix other the other ear. Hope this helps, if you have further questions please reach out.
