Critical Thinkers - Where Great Stories Meet Critical Thinking
Watch incredible stories learn critical thinking. Distinguish what's true.
For years I used to have a lack of critical thinking myself. I used to believe many things which had little evidence or truth behind them. These beliefs led me to decisions which did not turn out to my favor. Eventually I discovered critical thinking and changed my life for the better. Now I choose what I believe in with much more care. Make better, more informed decisions and enjoy the results. Yet many people fail to separate true information from false. That’s why I created the Critical Thinkers channel.
If you want to hear some incredible stories and learn critical thinking at the same time - you're at the right place!
In this channel you will learn what is critical thinking, various critical thinking skills, find critical thinking exercises, learn how to use critical thinking in a debate, learn about the best critical thinking books out there, find critical thinking tutorials what results a lack of critical thinking has and much more.

I watched a video about tibetan monks and yogis and how it is prohibited for them to prove and show their supernatural powers to the world not only because of karmic effects but also because of their vows to extreme secrecy and that is because everyone in the world would just be practicing yoga and meditation with the only objetive of attaining such powers. But in fact such powers are the byproduct of a pure mind without limiting beliefs after practicing yoga for many years

Thanks for this video. It's very honest and authentic... I do want to point out one thing, though, which is that when I hear you explain fwd bends, it's clear that whoever taught you has a poor understanding of anatomy/biomechanics. I don't want to sound rude or arrogant (esp considering the title of the video) but just in case people are confused... 1. lower back flexibility (or lack thereof) has literally nothing to do with fwd bending. your spine could be completely fused, with zero flexibility, and you could still do a pancake fwd bend with a straight back. 2. pushing your tailbone forward in a fwd bend would put your pelvis into a posterior tilt, thus making you fwd bend even more from your lumbar -- which is the exact opposite of what you want to do. a healthy lumbar should have quite limited mobility. if you're fwd bending from your lumbar, it would be like stressing a single link in a bicycle chain. in fact, if someone did have a flex lower back, as a teacher I'd have them sit straight, engage their core strongly, and go fwd with a straight (ie neutral) spine. if (as is your case), they can't fwd bend w a straight back due to lack of mobility, you need to sit up on a block or bolster and just practice sitting in an L position, or even lean backwards slightly, but still keeping the natural lumbar curve. after that, go by a wall and pull on straps to lift your spine upwards before going fwd at all. and then, over a long period of time, maybe you can start "fwd bending." 2. the tightness you felt is more likely from tight hamstrings, tight hip rotator muscles and/or psoas. none of which are being stretched if you fwd bend from your lower back. a fwd bend requires your hips to rotate around the femoral heads (knobs at the top of your thigh bones that plug into your hip sockets). the reason you need a "straight back" is to prevent you from bending from your spine, and to use your hips instead. if you can't do that, the pose needs to be modified. anyway, sorry for the long reply, and apologies if it comes off as arrogant. not my intention at all. sorry you had a bad yoga experience. I think in general yoga is in a terrible place right now for many reasons. so overall, I really liked what you had to say. hope this helps you or someone else in some way...

It would be beneficial for everyone to clarify the terminology of yoga and other words (eg. How do people perceive it is versus how the different yogas that are indeed practised in India and other parts of the world). For many, It is still rooted in this New Age trend - there are thousands of gurus and spiritual instructors in India and some should not even be teaching (my opinion). Let´s also add which is not enough discussed in his video that it has been developed into a profitable world wide business when in fact the concept of the Ancient books is to spread knowledge about the human life condition in a free way - not in making excessive profit out of it.

This is not the "truth" about enlightenment, and on a channel dedicated to critical thinking, putting such a title on a video contradicts the very pursuit of the channel. You fell into the materialist belief-trap, materialism the idea that our reality is reducible to particles, that matter is the fundamental substrate of reality, and that our conscious experience is produced by the brain. This worldview has been falsified and is on its way out. For more information, look into the work of people such as Bernardo Kastrup, Donald Hoffman and Thomas Warren Campbell.

Everything he does is a way to break people's defenses to get them to separate with their cash.

You go into the importance of proper training and regulation for yoga instructors, but the physical trainer market is just as unregulated, and any half decent PT instructor will readily tell you about all the awful injuries you can give yourself in the gym, and help you adjust your workout if you have an injury that should be worked around. IMO it's more of a culture thing.

Hay, quick thought that's sort of unrelated but... Have you ever stopped to wonder WHY Atheists DON'T WORSHIP SPACE AS A CREATION GOD? I mean, think about that one logicly for a moment. When I was 16 years old, I LOVED SCIENCE CLASS and I even read my science book for FUN. Biology and geology were FASCINATING to me and I read a TONE of sections on both subjects. Biology stated that to be classified as a living being you needed brain cells or cells period. If anything lacked cells it was considered "nonliving." Rocks for example didn't have cells. They were made of atoms and molecules only, so they weren't alive. Space too wasn't seen as having cells because it was made of a mysterious non living substance called "Antimatter". As I learned in Astronomy. Atoms were believed to function like "microscopic computers" that ran on a set code unless altered by some outside force, like wind or animals. These "computers" NEVER CHANGED THEIR PROGRAMMING ON THEIR OWN. This was why rocks stayed still and never changed shape unless an outside force moved or cracked them. Like a person picking up the rock and carrying it someplace else. All of this made sense to me and sounded highly scientific. But then I found "The Big Bang Theory" and "Evolution" and they DID NOT MATCH UP WITH THE REST OF THAT BOOK AT ALL. One sounded like "mythology" and the other like "magic". Evolution COMPLETELY IGNORING The BIOLOGICAL ELEMENTS of INNER BREADING. Making it look like lizards could have LIVE BIRTHS with mammals, biased on the OBSCURE IDEAS that everything was "related". But that's a tangent for another day. Getting back on topic, simply put, The Big Bang either claimed that "The universe created itself because it had to, or it was a giant computer program that was programed to create life." Meaning in that first definition it was THINKING LIKE A LIVING BEING. BUT! Anti matter DIDN'T CONTAIN CELLS or BRAIN CELLS to allow space to THINK. So my FIRST QUESTION was "How can a non living things think unless its SPIRITUAL? The definition of a creation god is commonly something like this. "A being who created the universe and life, by choice, instruction of other gods, or by accident that people worship." Like Ra from Egypt who created the Earth and mankind according to some ancient Egyptians. And while I know no one is worshiping SPACE for "The Big Bang" the REST of that stuff DOSE APPLY HEAR. "The Universe created life." "Creation gods create life." So even if space WAS ALIVE, then wouldn't it count as a CREATION GOD? That's scientifically ridiculous! And don't even get me started on the other "Big Bang" idea that says space was programed like a COMPUTER to make life. That goes against the stuff we know about how NONE LIVENING THINGS CAN'T PROGRAM THEMSELVES. Computers need a HUMAN TO BUILD AND PROGRAM THEM to funchion. WE chose how the computers function biased on what WE program into them. We can also change the programming of atoms and molecules by means of atom splitting, chemistry and other methods I forgot how their done. But again WE HUMANS have to make those atoms CHANGE because they cant change their own programming on their own. AI's even require US to build them FIRST before they can funchion. So my second question is "If space is a huge computer WHO PROGRAMED IT?" And going back to that "Creation god" definition, wouldn't the programer of space COUNT AS A CREATION GOD TOO? Frankly from my understanding THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A GODLESS WORLD. Science CAN'T EXPLAIN EVERYTHING in a FULLY SCIENTIFIC MANNER or this "theory" wouldn't point to "A CREATION GOD OF SOME SORT". So if SCIENTISTS BEST THEORY LEADS TO A SPIRITUAL BEING WHO MADE US ALL, then why think SCIENCE is ALL theirs is in our world? This doesn't seem logical to me. But that leads to the question of WHAT GOD CREATED US? Because some god had to with THAT in mind!

Of course Aikido is an incomplete Art for modern Self-Defense. I still like it though, but I already learned Strikes and Kicks from my Karate and Ninjitsu Training (my Trainer was a Tang Soo Do / Hapkido / Karate / Jiu Jitsu black belt). Aikido techniques are similar to what I learned in Ninjitsu, just a bit less brutal (eg. in Ninjitsu we locked the Arm of the oppenent on the ground with our knee instead of the hand, so we had hands free and could roll over the arm and break it if needed). Now I train Aikido because it's good, but I know I need to also know the missing parts (strikes/kicks/wrestling).
