This game is definitely a treat to eyes when play on electronic glasses but definite too easy for an arcade game (since you need to make money from people feeding quarters). So very good reason that Rez supports VR play.

If I recall correctly, I bought PSVR at launch for it. But the question of whether it's worth it just for this game, probably not. I knew there would be other PSVR games I wanted to play. In a similar situation, I bought PS Move specifically for Child of Eden (the spiritual sequel to this) and found the game to be worse with motion controls and ended up finally finishing the game years later without the motion controls. As far as VR in Rez, I found the game to be better in VR. Targeting is faster and more precise when you can just quickly move your head in addition to using the analog stick to move the cursor. VR makes the bosses easier because you can react more quickly. It translates well to VR and somehow doesn't cause motion sickness for me. If someone has VR and likes the original then it's worth picking up to play again in VR. But otherwise I can't suggest it just for this one game. It's great, but I think the cost of VR isn't enough to make up for that.

​@@koolsithink Have you read the manual? The mods folder is in ~/Library/Application Support/sonic3air/

You need to go into the options menu and switch the renderer to OpenGL Software if you are using an Apple Silicon Mac.

As the manual PDF mentions, save data is located at ~/Library/Application Support/sonic3air/ The app presents the setup wizard the first time you launch it, as seen in this video. Older versions prior to the most recent Spring 2021 release did not do much validation to confirm that you selected the correct ROM if you picked one manually. On subsequent launches, it only checked whether the file you selected still exists and if it does the game would try to start. If the file does not exist anymore you will get the setup wizard again. The Spring 2021 release should have prevented you from manually selecting the incorrect ROM. On the other hand, the app will not check a ROM that was auto-detected from Steam because it assumes the correct one is there. In short, if you are seeing the message you described, you provided a bad ROM the first time you started the game.

@@Sappharad I don't understand. I installed a rom. It's a .bin file. But how do I import it. when opening it doesn't show the setup wizard.

Im sorry for questioning. I deleted everything in sonic3 air files except mods. And then reopened and it worked. But this is the perfect port. Perhaps you must atleast get a 1k subs.

Save games are compatible. I literally am using the exact same save file on both consoles in this video. If you have purchased DLC on PS4 and re-downloaded the game on PS5, any save file that was made with DLC install will refuse to work unless you re-install that same DLC. Head to the PS Store / Your game library and make sure you re-install all of it, even if it was something simple like a pre-order bonus.
