My biggest hobby & passion is motorcycling. Based in SW Wales, UK I'll share the Welsh coast mountains & valleys. As well as day to day riding & even school run by bike. I'll be riding some amazing roads, undoubtedly getting lost and sharing challenges and triumphs as I focus on an aspect of my riding on adventure. I'm a motovlog fan girl, so am looking forward to learning as I go.
Mum of 3 daughters and self confessed plus sized middle aged, short, lady rider. I will share my honest views on the kit and products I buy and use. My bikes live out, year round all weather riding isn't as shiny, but the laughs (and tears) are well and truly part of the journey.

Yeah it's on fb marketplace, in Llanelli.
1st school run I've ever seen on a bike. Nice channel you have here. Keep them spokes turning. Cheers
Hi, thanks for stopping by and your kind words. I think we are a little rare on the school run circuit. 😁 Sassy is counting down to her first bike. I'm counting down to having a bike just for me rather than 2 up. 😉😂 Ride safe, LJ
I use a Pinlock occasionally you got a readjust them & to remove moisture if visor starts to fog up.I wear spectacles too & leave the air vents open on chin & made sure my helmet had good ventilation on the chin so air blows up around face to stop glasses 👓 fogging up.Also pop my visor open at intersections if have too.I use LS2 helmets as like the fit on me & multiple chin vents & have 2 LS2 helmets one is a fiberglass storm & my newer lightweight LS2 Carbon Fiber Vector which came with 2 visors a clear & a tint & all LS2 helmets come with free Pinlock which cost $45nz & came with draw string bag & a carry bag as well.I needed a lighter helmet after breaking my upper back would get saw after awhile so got the Carbon Fiber Vector helmet.
HS2 are popular, it's nice to find a lid that fits you well. I have had problems with my forehead being cramped in other helmets. This is the first I found where I didn't need a heated spoon. 😂 It's a juggle with glasses but one I'm used to. I really have found my pinlock is faultless.
The swalThe skwal is a lid I looked at. I think one of the skwals had lights on them too which I thought ws quite advanced and sexy 😂😊
I think you're right. A friend got one with lights and the shop put her comms on it too. I bought a shark for sassy it's a bit cheaper without pinlock but a great helmet too.
Maybe that was his problem, that it was a car park, not a bike park? 😁
😂 Who knows... The staff moving bikes down the dropped curb may be asking the same question. 😂
Good one, audio needs a little work, but otherwise, all good.
Yeah my mic and recorder wasn't working..I can't plug into the GoPro since they got wet about a year ago.
Great to see you out there again Lady J! Am also glad to hear you got away with minimal damage from the mishap 👍Best of all, it's good to know that you're still alive!!! 😁😁 Great vid J!
Lol alive and well. Yeah the drop wasn't ideal but we all escaped damage free.
My bike is 13months old today.I'm thinking 🤔 about getting a new bike soon probably a Triumph T100 or Speedtwin 900.Great to see you back.
Thanks :) Nice choices. The speedtwin is a lovely looking bike.
My favourite you tuber is back❤
Haha she's been Mia...
Very cool that your teen ride with
Sassy absolutely loves it! She's 14 now so counting down the time. I picked her up from school today, much nicer than the car. Thanks for watching, LJ
lol patience my friend
I'm generally very patient. And to be fair, this was a close call. Thanks for watching..sorry late reply, youtube have added the need for me to verify comments. Hope you're well and out there riding.
Amazing!!! Well done! Still beats being in a car XD YES!!!!
It truly does!
That's why I prefer no computers on bikes ;)
I absolutely agree when a friend showed me his shiny new ducati scrambler when they first came out. All whirly lights when turned the key. I felt almost guilty at his face after I said that is what would kill his bike before the engine ever did. I still think the same.
Nice review 👍🏻
Thanks Johnathon. Hope you're good.
@@ladyjrider666 all good here thank you. Ride safe, maybe we can meet up with Grumps again soon.
@@NortonUnofficial hopefully. Rain, school run mum and uni is keeping me a dull LJ. 🤣
Really hard to read the signs from your video, I assume because of the rain on the video camera, though I think you were able to spot them. I assume there are posted speed limit signs for all those changes? It shouldn't be beyond the skill of the average driver to follow the limits. But then again we have people who drive at 42mph irrespective of what the actual limit is (30 or NSL, they'll drive at 42 because they can't raise their vision and properly adapt to the road)
The speed limit signs are smaller than standard were. They are still putting in place speed cameras that were removed a few months before the change. And the light up indicator of speed are set at 20mph on a few places. The drivers are erring on side of caution. Readings are 17mph or lower. It's very confusing for many still. The going up and down. A 50 had changed to 30 I've found too. So not consistent.
there are no extra speed cameras , just saying
We have actually had ours removed which is leading to night time racing. The police are said to be educating more for the next year. Thanks for dropping by.
I said this would not work, I was wrong, it is a catastrophe and unravelling quicker than I expected. We are all shocked by a Welsh Government, never held in high regard, but we did not realise how truly clueless and out of their depth they are.
Honestly just a 3 mile school run is pathetic, I had a feeling people would get confused and they are. I'm seeing 25 in a 40, 15 in a 20 and a whopping 20 in a 30. The super slow is now followed by 10 or so cars. We never had an issue leaving our village in the morning but now it's a queue of traffic. Spaced out with no chance of overtaking safely. I may as well be on a moped. 😣
Even worse, Drakeford refuses to listen to the thousands, more than voted for his party.
@@drewwilliams6888 it's nuts. I am seriously going to have to consider a commuter next year I think if things haven't shifted.
@@ladyjrider666 I've read your reply, mentioned above again, my head is in the shed. Total madness, what you and your neighbours are experiencing. Where are your local Senedd representatives? Exactly probably nowhere to be seen. MADNESS.
What are the miles per gallon?
Hi the stats are 15.5L tank, 45-48 mpg. I'd say its on par with that. I get 150 miles to a tank. The fuel level indicator is pretty accurate, and to read as blocks and flashes on last one once nearer the limit. Hope this helps.
@@ladyjrider666 thank you I thought it was like 25-30mpg def good to hear it’s much higher
@@3nterprisevideos it's really easy to achieve high mpg. Even on the motorway. Or faster riding. It had a small icon meaning eco that shows to encourage smooth riding and correct gear as indicated.
It's a bloody joke 🤬
It's not good. :(
As im getting older, 20mph is better, more relaxed and chilled. It might be harder for the police to spot the pot heads though
Let's hope the police car spot phones being used more too.
Wales; the land where time has stopped.
Sad but true. Though I think other parts of the UK will follow. I must say, you wouldn't want to try and cross a road through a rolling road block which is what it's become. People aren't even if bothering to speed up on sections they know will drop back down. It's crazy
The density of population is not comparable. Everyone is entitled to their opinions. And thankfully we live in a world we can accept these with grace.
@@ladyjrider666 Well said hun, and very true. Lady by name, and certainly lady by nature x

You were going over 20mph... that's 3 points and a £60 fine.....
Actually £100 if in line with the former 30 mph zones. Or a speed awareness course. As per my review, my speedo isn't accurate, so not a true reflection.
Bloody storms! Glad you managed to make good of the bad weather with this review! 👍🏼
I'm getting a bit sick of rain I must admit. Least this was dry enough to film in. And kept me company. 😂 The ride home 2 hours later wasn't so nice. How you doing ?
I wouldn't think rear drum brake is an issue, with street riding. That is only balancing brake anyway, front does the heavy work.
Rear drums do lock up sometimes and a single disc was surprising. I'm pretty sure the braking distance would be poor when compared to an abs, but as said I should (and will in future) have remembered to check brakes out. I live in a hilly location so stopping is fine but hill starts 2 up on steep hills is by front brake when on drum. Or roll back for a curb to hold while you pull off. Add to that impatient neighbours and it's a daily consideration for me. The Vulcan S held with just back.
@@ladyjrider666 Interesting. I have not heard of this locking up being an issue with modern drum brakes. ABS does not really improve braking distance, compared to threshold braking. It just helps not to wipe out, if you squeeze too much and would lock up without ABS.
I'll have a bit more faith about not locking up then. I only experienced it once on an older bike. I have ridden along the lines of not having good brakes compared to friends and had to overtake in one instance, but am able to give myself more space now (not pack riding). Hopefully you're right about not locking up. I find the Intruder 'picks up ' her front end when biting point is reached so I know I can release the front brake. Throttle and maintaining the front brake is a skill I've come to learn. 😂 The Vulcan S was only abs bike I had so not a great deal of insight.
what’s the windshied like? I buying a vukcan s soon
This is the only bike I used a screen on (ever). I was surprised I liked it. There's the touring screen she came with, which is after market puig, worked really well. I'm only 5'2" so can't really tell where the wind hit me, but definitely cleared it round my torso including to my shoulders. I also bought a second hand smaller blacked out screen (see my video on custom/modifications). Which aesthetically appealed to me more. I did put the touring screen back on when heading on a longer road trip. Hope this helps. Hope you enjoy your Vulcan S. I really did like mine. I wouldn't have parted with her but for a fault the garage couldn't sort. Thanks for dropping by. Ride safe, LJ

Diolch, I try!
Its a farce. Dear Leader Drakeford and his woke mob are ruining Wales
It sure is crazy. I'm certainly finding my former city riding overtakes and filtering more.. 🤔
I came 5th in North Wales junior road bike Champion! Drakeford would only have seen a blur of my bike going down the North Wales mountain passes at up to 65 mph!
That's seriously cool!
I think I have ran 21 miles per hour down hill on a cool fall day for 20 feet. Crazy. My road is 30 and people do 50 to 60 and people get mad. I don't mind much as if you look at my road, it looks like a highway. So people go faster for what they feel and see the terrain is. 🤪 can't imagine life at 20 mph
It's unbelievable at the moment. I'm overtaking more on a short journey I normally just cruise at. Drivers are being overally cautious and doing as much as 15mph under the 40mph and going from 40 -20 emergency braking where cars behind expect the 40,30,20.
I always put away all cameras if it's raining. Just me, don't want to play with water and electric. But it was nice to see a journey I have done many times in poring down rain and chilled to the bone and hating life and that becomes a memory of bliss later when you think of the destination you made it to, or coming from.
Yeah I don't leave them running often or for long. I have sealed housings as use gopro hero4. It's not much fun on long runs in the rain, but has to be done sometimes.
Why are people painting over 20mph signs that's 😂awful 😂 terrible.😂. disgusting..😂..Wales revolting well I never...👋👋👋👋👋

The speed limit change is ridiculous! And, most likely it will never be totally reversed. Back in 1973, our first major petrol shortage here in the USA, the highway limit was reduced from 65 mph to 55. That has never been changed. The Interstate highway limits went from 75 to 55 for a while, then went back to 70. All in the name of fuel conservation. lol…. Most people ignore these limits to a degree. Even law enforcement typically gives you about 5% to 10% leeway. It’s sad for you all to have to deal with this situation. Please be careful in all that traffic mess. Sorry for the rant…. Please Ride Safe. :)Cheers 👍🏻🇺🇸
You're right about things going back. Our motorways (freeways) are 70mph which led to protests, but are now reduced to average speed zones of 50mph and even lower heading into cities. Times are not changing for the better.
Constant changes in speed limits are so annoying
And senseless. 6am at 20mph with 2 cars in front and nothing else. Crazy.
Just driven over to Wales for the weekend, first time since weekend before last. Lines of slow moving vehicles through the villages and small towns opening up again as you pass through. Eyes everywhere apart from the road as you’re constantly watching your Speedo. Abject madness! P.S it’s P’ing down here on the mid Wales coast. The Welsh government really are turning this beautiful principality into a miserable place. My dad’s Welsh, this will have him spinning in his grave seeing what’s happening ☹️
It's terrible. I'm finding cars doing 25 in a 40 bypass at the moment. Let alone all the variables. The road crews were out scraping off 30mph of city dual carriageways. And seems like one side of a road can be 20 miles different to the other. 🙄 Hope you got some dry weather, I'm getting a bit bored of waterproofs. Lol Take care and ride safe , LJ
I didn't agree with the implementation, but I do think people are over reacting and jumping on the band wagon
The trouble with the 20 mph is that cars have to drive in a lower gear hence burning more fuel having driven in a 20mph zone I could not get out of second gear. this is the work of the WEF puppets, Wales you do not need a election to change things you need a revolution or it will Ulez, 15 min cities no holidays abroad no cash the list is endless so this is make up your mind time, prisoners in your own town and country or a free people??
Thankfully many signs are being vandalised around wales. people don't protest enough and laws changed on protesting against anything. You're right , but where this will go I don't know .
Like everyone says all it’s doing is building congestion these 20 mph zones it pollutes the air even more with all the vehicles changing up and down the gears accelerating the accelerating braking it all adds up like the song 👍👍🙏🏍️
Absolutely. It's unbelievable.
Most seem to be ignoring the 20mph and driving at 30-35mph and most used to obey the 20mph school zones but this seems to have gone out of th window now as most are staying at 30-35mph when in the school 20mph zones.
@@cloudbasenirvana we've always had an issue with speeding in a village that should be a 1 way system. But this is just causing confusion on main roads.
@@ladyjrider666 - as the old W£F saying goes - You will OWN NOTHING, you will GO NOWHERE & be HAPPY. They want to stop all driving for the 15 minute SMART City Agenda - first aim get all to drive EVs and then crash the EVs system world wide. An EV car weighs so much their ave stopping distance at 30mph is equivalent to that of a Petrol or Diesel car doing 50mph. The new 20mph and all the new 50/60mph down to 40mph in many places should only be applicable to EVs that would put the EVs stopping distances on par with Petrol or Diesel cars doing 30mph or 60mph in the new 20mph and 40 mph zones.
@@cloudbasenirvana hi god forbid all it will take is for a child to get hit by someone speeding by our primary school, they have made the road locker chicane so you have no choice but go slow 🙏
I remember there was a song "I can't drive 55", never thought it to be because the speed limits are even lower than that :P
Our local assembly government politician shared a news article on the motorways reducing to 70mph. I think he thought it would help.
Great. Your Content is fantastic, But your video optimization section area is not perfectly up to date. Out of 100 that’s score 47, That’s why your video is not reaching out to people, and you have very few subscribers, views , likes, watch time and comments. I think your TH-cam channel will make your dream come true. Can I talk with you?
Thanks for dropping by and commenting. My channel is not set to be a large one, just a small community. Thanks anyway.
Well, that's just yucky! Why were the new limits put in place? 20 mph is extremely slow, even in the rain....
Hi Jody, how are you now you're home? Bet you're glad to be in your own home with your family. Speed wise, our base is 30mph unless in certain areas. But the Welsh government have put in a law that makes the 'default' speed 20mph with applications and assessments for roads to be more than that. It's causing much confusion, their advertising was if you see houses and street lights 'close together' then think 20mph. But that isn't always the case. The map they have is interactive, subject to change and to be honest awful to decipher even if you're savvy enough to try. All roads are subject to change and sat nav are of course not up to date. one of the signs I passed this morning has already been sprayed over. So it'll really be a difficult one to stick to. Our laws are 12 points = a ban a single speeding ticket in a 30mph (i'm assuming now the 20MPH) is 3 points and £100. They are saying they'll help 'educate' where possible for a year, but that is again subjective and not across the board. They are using emotional blackmail if you ask me - appealing to better natura and statistics for braking distance and accident rates between 20 and 30MPH. Normally they are singing the words of reducing emissions or congestion. We've seen 60mph reduced to 50 and 40 in most areas even rural. The test group locally 64% adhered to the limits after the test period (45% before), and they passed the initial proposal (along with many other law changes that got pushed through) during covid times. While promoting electric vehicles, and even a cycle scheme offering adults 1 on 1 tuition to feel confident on the roads. I do feel there is a long term agenda here. Goodness I'll have worn you out. I need to do a more detailed video but am struggling to go anywhere of interest at the moment. Take care my friend from over the pond. All the best, x
@@ladyjrider666 oh my goodness, Jane! That is a lot for my mind to think about right now... Yes, I'm very glad to be home. Recovery is quite slow but that is too be expected. I'm working hard in therapy...also walking outside and doing my strengthening exercises at home. Even working on a video. Hope all is well with you! 💜🤗🙏
Jody, Sounds like you're doing brilliantly. You have a beautiful home and land perfect for recovery. Slow and steady wins the race. You've had a scary time. Xx
