Ever since this wonderful piece of music came out on the EMI LP "Music of India Vol.1 Duets" 45 years ago, it has been my favourite because of its poetic beginning and its relentless building to an overwhelming climax, that also thrilled every one I played it to.

Perfect match in Tabla and Santoor.One of favorite mid night ragas, "Kausik kanada." Fortunate enough to watch this concert in Netaji Indoor Stadium.❤

If this was the mix between the tabla and the sarangi on stage it id unfortunate. It appears that Ahmedjan Thirakwa caanot hear the lehara and hence the mismatch.

His rendering of the tabla rhythm world comes from a rare thoughtful understanding of aesthetics in grace.. there is a pause a soothing comfort in telling the bols, the embelishments of tabla rhythm

Was it 1969December at Sawai Gandharva barsee? If so then Lalji and Suryakant Gokhale and Ghulam Rasool along with a teen age Zakir and some others,myself R M Arekar,were on the stage and Thirkwasaheb started at 3a.m or so.Unfortunately,he was slow-handclaped,then Zakir intervened and appealea listeners to hear patiently
