Enhance Your Empathy & Communication with the Three Gates
In this enlightening video, we explore a modern take on the classic concept of the three gates of communication.
My version asks: Does it need to be said? Does it need to be said now? Does it need to be said by me? This approach emphasizes mindfulness and intentionality in our interactions, encouraging us to pause and reflect before speaking. By applying these gates, we can enhance our communication skills, fostering more meaningful, empethic and respectful dialogues.
We will also discuss the 5 benefits of using the three gates.
They are:
Reduces Misunderstandings: By ensuring that only necessary and timely information is shared, the risk of miscommunication decreases.
Enhances Relationships: Thoughtful communication fosters trust and respect, strengthening personal and professional relationships.
Promotes Empathy: This approach encourages considering others' perspectives, enhancing empathy.
Improves Emotional Regulation: It helps manage emotions by preventing impulsive reactions, leading to more constructive interactions.
Encourages Self-Reflection: By questioning the necessity and timing of speech, individuals engage in self-reflection, promoting personal growt
We discuss how this method can transform personal and professional relationships by reducing unnecessary conflicts and misunderstandings. Whether you're navigating challenging conversations or seeking to improve daily interactions, these three gates provide a powerful framework for thoughtful speech.
Join us as we delve deeper into each of these questions, offering practical insights and examples.

I have been looking for a video or blog like this for years. Some people call it the groundhog day diet. I have been trying to refine my approach to it for several years. I have settled on oatmeal with a banana and cinnamon for breakfast with black coffee, for lunch, a sweet potato and black bean burrito on a whole wheat tortilla with an apple, and for dinner, that's where I have some variety. If I have to snack in between it's fruit, nuts, avocado, home popped popcorn.

A minimalist diet does not work for everyone, but it works for me. I have tried meal lifestyles over the years, including vegetarian, vegan, paleo, intermittent fasting, etc., and this is the one that gives me the most benefits...more energy, less fatigue, no bloating, just to name a few. I am not a dietician or a health care professional, so I always recommend before making a diet change people consult their own doctor or nutritionist to see what changes are right for them.

That is a very important point! In the first video I did not post specific foods and quantities that I eat, because it is different for everyone. But I received so many requests for more details I posted another video with more information, located here: th-cam.com/video/vo1jn9y7vJs/w-d-xo.html. I would advise you speak with your nutritionist or other health care professional first, and pick the foods that give you the nutrients you need.

@@gloriathompson423 Well, I actually eat out of order because I don't eat until 9.00am. So, first meal (technically lunch) is home made lentil soup topped with a boiled egg plus high protein bread with Avocado..I make up a batch of the soup to last the whole week. I use an old family recipe that is a rustic village recipe from Spain that my mother taught me that her mother taught her etc..I finish off eating at 7.00pm (which is technically breakfast) with weetbix, banana and a blend of nuts and seeds. I don't drink liquids with my meals. I eat 3 meals a day spaced 5 hours apart, where I drink water 2 hours after eating and less than 1 hour before. I said in my original comment that I rotate through 3 dinner options. Well I recently dropped that down to 2. Eaten at 2.00pm either a vegan Buddha bowl or baked salmon and sweet potato with steamed broccoli and a handful of nuts for desert. The Buddha bowl I cook once and prep 4 serves out of it. So meaning for dinner I only cook 3 times per week (Buddha bowl = 4 dinners, salmon = 2 dinners. Dinner number 7 I just eat a serve of lentil soup cause I'm too lazy to cook just one single meal!)
