A masterful performance with a couple of variations not in the original but very much in the spirit of it. And the Fortepiano definitely adds “flavour”!

That was trash! First of all it was in the wrong key it he played it in F! And also he did not play with any emotion that was trash and was horrible, take this video again and play again in the correct key

Amazing, fortepiano was much smaller than modern grands, the keyboard was much narrower, smaller and shorter than pianists' hand, I wonder how light the pressing since the sounds is very crisp!

Terriffic! I couldn´t love it more!! I am practising this piece and it is on my mind 24/7 - but reaching this level? I doubt it. This is the best I ever heard! Listen to Lubins own variation between var. VIII and IX: A variation on themes from G-minor Symphony. Highly original idea!

One can see here how good Steve Lubin playing is. But he's going to be remembered also, because of his survey recording of the Beethoven Concerts with Pianoforte and the great Christopher Hogwood as Conductor. He, with Van Immersel and Robert Levin are for me, the best that you can get in Pianoforte recordings. Viviana Sofronitsky is another one that must be added to them, for her survey of the Mozart Concerts with Pianoforte is another rendition to keep in mind. Excellent Steve Lubin. You had to be, if you wanted to play with Hogwood and his Academy of Ancient Music... 🎵🎶🆗👍💙
