Grest, thanks.
I cannot believe what I have just watched. I am a DIYer mechanic servicing my cars and bikes and I would never ever compress a vehicle coil spring like you did with straps. Never. It is just far too dangerous. I used to use the widow maker death clamps which I never felt comfortable using, like handling an unexplored bomb. If one of these or a strap slips or lets go then a coil spring could cause serious injury even fatal. I just bought a dedicated Sealey hydraulic spring compressor to replace the front struts and top mounts on my Peugeot Partner Tepee as they were rattling and knackered. The rattling started at 22k miles and now at 44k I have had enough. I replaced the crappy OE Peugeot struts and top mounts with Bilstein B4. I don’t understand why you did not remove the plastic cover above the strut top nut to get better access to the nut? You only have to take the wipers off and remove two screws either side adjacent to the side wings and a small screw in the middle and the whole lot comes out. You can easily then get access to the top nuts. This only takes a few minutes. Does this Citroen not have an anti roll bar as you did not mention removing or attaching any ARB drop links attached to the strut. Also I would replace the steering bearings under the top mounts as these are often dry and corroded and are cheap as chips. If not replacing at least strip, clean and regrease with waterproof grease. To not do so is a false economy.
Thank you! You also watch my DPF cleaning video ;)
Shut up Alex. He states several times he doesn’t recommend it but guess what some of us just want to get on with it and don’t care what Alex on the internet says.
I actually thought his idea was very ingenious and very good for the DIY who just want to do a cheap job at home and I don't think these Citroën Berlingo cause brings are under March tension
Were have you the support jack
Buen Trabajo!!
Thanks. Got to do my one as failed its test in UK
B9 model only, the older models are a bit different
Hei/Hi i noticed you have oil spill on your exhaust/crossmember. Do you know where it came from? I have same problem and failed EU/MOT approval because of "fire hazard". Shop said rear main seal probably, but should it not be a mess inside cluch housing then? Did look clean inside yours
i have same problem with oil spill , i suspect the gasket from crankshaft , have you find from where was the oil spill? thanks
Hi buddy. I drive a vauxhall insignia also. Today the stability control light kept coming on and now it's got a slight grinding noise on my left side. Do you think the bearings could be the problem?
Yes, it could be the bearing, you can try to lift it up and try to wiggle the tire and feel for any slack.
I know even the best mechanics near me wouldn't do it like this
Good video but Light isn’t great,a little voice over as to what to undo etc would help
Yes, i agree! I will try to get better lighting and stuff if i make another one :)
Wasn’t being nasty about the light so please don’t think I wax
Thanks! Question is neccesary remove the ckp sensor, before remove transmission?
Yes, if not it breakes when you remove the transmission. It is a bit difficult to remove, but it is possible. I used a 1/4" ratchet wrench with a hinge too remove it. I think it is a 10mm socket. Good luck!
You can see the tool at 3:13
I think I’d struggle without the hydraulic press and gas torch.
Anyone would! Their pressed in at some pressure!
Thank you
