    I think of this when I'm at the SF Civic Center Farmers Market (Sundays and Wednesdays). At this most central spot with city hall, museums and concert halls I can buy organic heathy produce grown locally and most likely produced without exploitations, un-necessary cruelty or environmental damage. Or I can I walk just outside and buy meth, crack, fent, or $4 a pack chineze export cigs. Walk a few more steps and I can buy the stolen contents of the Walgreens or whatever wasn't locked down at the Safeway grocery store. All will be included in the GDP. All are equally weighted in the GDP. All hail the green arrow. May it only point up.

    Thats complete bullshit. I know plenty of men in my age group of 25 to 30 who want to get married. Yet the women they were together with for years dropped them off because they DIDN'T want marriage and family. Also it isn't true that men are in control of the sexual market. The opposite is the case. Women can afford to be more picky about their sexual relationships since they have a lower sex drive. Since sexual partners are changed regularily this leads to the situation that a minority of high status men will sleep with a majority of women of variing attractivenes, bolstering their sense of selfworth on the sexual market further leading to mid- to low-status males being at a disadvantage. This shifts only when women rapidly loose sexual attractiveness after 30, which isn't the case for men. This is why men are in control of the marriage market whereas women are in control of the sexual market. Nevertheless the solution is the same. Sex should be directly connected to emotional commitment. That way families would be healthier and more stable, people more happy and both the sexual and marriage market more egalized.

    "The logic of the witch hunter is simple. It has hardly changed since Matthew Hopkins days. The first requirement is to invert the reality of power. Power at its most basic level is the power to harm or destroy other human beings. The obvious reality is, that witch hunters gang up on and destroy witches, whereas witches are never ever seen ganging up on and destroying witch hunters. By this test alone, we can see that the conspiracy is imaginary. Think about it. Obviously, if the witches had any real power whatsoever, they would not waste their time gallivanting around on broomsticks, valating Satan and cursing cows with sour milk. They are getting burned right and left for christs sake, priorities! No, they'd turn the tables and lay some serious voodoo on those witch hunters. In a country, where anybody who speaks out against witches is soon found dangling by his heels from an oak at midnight and his head shrunk to the size of a baseball, we wouldn't see a lot of witch hunting, and we would know that there is a serious witch problem. In a country, where witch hunting is a stable, lucrative career and also an amateur pasttime enjoyed by millions of hobbyists on the weekend, we know that there are no real witches worth a damn"

    De Maistre’s statement incidentally reveals why the Bible can’t be separated from the Church: the oral tradition of the Church preceded the writing of the New Testament. Christianity preceded the Christian Bible.

    German economy a self-sufficient success? what is he even smoking? it was a bankrupt failure, there is no such thing as self sufficient. mercantilism is dumb and doesn't work, ever. cooperation does.

    • @acuerdox
      @acuerdox 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@aldoushuxley5953 you can cooperate all you want inside Arabia, you'll find there are some key resources like water that are in very short supply, why not go even further then? cooperation only inside big cities, can't buy things from the countryside, a little hard to grow crops on an apartment complex. Everyone needs to import something, to buy things from the country side into the city, from the England into France, much of the French stock was hurt by Napoleons blockade to England. Even more, it was the economic crisis created by the mercantilism of France that allowed the French Revolution, they forced the farmers to sell to france first, at lower prices than before since the offer was much higher than demand then, did France become wealthier then? no, they became worse off the longer that went on. Another Mercantilist Nation, Spain, same thing, only when they did allow for free trade did the economy improve, not for spain mind you, since they had almost nothing to offer, but the colonies were really happy about that. after the crisis of the 30's capitalism was disgraced and everyone wanted an alternative, to try and be self sufficient, the Germans tried it, the Russians tried it, the Chinese tried it, the Italians, etc etc. They all failed "what about mercantilism in all areas but those in which a state does not have all necessary resources?" perhaps you're not acquainted with the mercantile theory, it says that the wealth of a Nation is in the amount of Silver and Gold it has, so to be wealth one should try to accumulate those and never spend it, so if there's a resource that you don't have and need then Mercantilism theory would advice against buying those resources (because you'd be losing your money) and instead try and conquer someplace that has those resources.
