    Hi, thanks for watching! Great question about this text in Galatians. Paul is writing this book of Galatians because the Judaizers were trying to persuade these Galatian Christians to fall back under the Law as a means of Righteousness and Justification. Therefore, Paul writes this letter to correct and admonish them that Salvation comes only by grace through faith and not by the works of the Law, Galatians 2:16. So what does he mean then when he says in Galatians 2:19, “For I through the Law died to the Law so that I might live to God?” The answer is in verse 20. “I have been crucified with Christ.” This is how we all die to the Law; we have been crucified with Christ, and then we are raised with Christ and live out from Him. So, when Paul says that through the Law he died to the Law, he is making the point that the Law judged him a sinner, for he says in Romans, “I would not have known sin except through the Law.” Romans 7:7. But Christ came and fulfilled the Law, and now the Righteous requirements of the Law were fulfilled in us because Christ died and satisfied the requirements of the Law on our behalf. He did this by becoming the propitiation, the satisfying sacrifice, that paid the debt of all our sins and satisfied the penalty of wrath that the Law required for sin, Romans 8:4; 3:20-31. Praise you Jesus! So it was through the Law that Christ fulfilled that we can now die to the Law and live to Christ. And because of this provision of grace and salvation through Jesus’ work on the cross, all who believe in Jesus and put their full trust in Him have died to the Law, because we have been crucified with Christ, the Law is no longer our master, and now the life that we live is by faith in the Son of God, Jesus Christ. Hello! I love your teachings and I did have a question, it is kind of off topic but this is the only video I could find that mentions Galatians. I have been studying Galatians on my own for a little and I came across Gal 2:19 “For through the law I died to the law…” NIV. I have been stuck on the verse for quite a while, is there any insight you could give? Thank you!

    Interesting how my posts that soundly disprove your stance keep disappearing. I would really like to know how Christians can knowingly use deception to bolster their positions. EDIT I am adding this note in that I am really puzzled about my posts disappearing. What I said, at least in part, is true. I brought up several very strong arguments against the idea of this video and those posts promptly disappeared. No less than three times if memory serves. However, there is another video that I was posting on, and various posts disappeared there too. Specifically, ones of others responding to me. Let me humbly apologize if, indeed, my posts were not deleted by the moderator. But three times in a row seem a bit much perhaps to be random glitches.

      Hi, thanks for the comment, but I disagree. 2 Corinthians 12:7 reads like this in the original Greek: καὶ τῇ ὑπερβολῇ τῶν ἀποκαλύψεων ἵνα μὴ ὑπεραίρωμαι, ἐδόθη μοι σκόλοψ τῇ σαρκί, ἄγγελος Σατᾶν, ἵνα με κολαφίζῃ, ἵνα μὴ ὑπεραίρωμαι If this were an angel “of Satan” it would be written in the genitive case as τοῦ Σατανᾶ. But instead, Paul writes Σατᾶν as a singular masculine nominative, clearly making this the main subject of his statement. Also, Paul writes the word angel, ἄγγελος, as a singular masculine nominative modifying Σατᾶν. So we would translate this “angel Satan,” not “an angel OF Satan.” Also, because angel Satan is in the nominative case, Satan is the subject of the sentence which refers to the verb ἐδόθη, a 3rd person singular verb translated as “he gave.” Therefore, this sentence clearly reads... He, angel Satan, gave to me a thorn in the flesh... If you have any other questions or comments please feel free to ask. Thanks! Zack

      @@seekingtruthbiblestudy-zac8960 Interesting. In the Majority Text and the United Bible Societies Text, the Greek word for Satan is Satana which is Noun, masculine, genitive, and singular. It is only in the Received Text, which is FAR sparser and FAR more recent than the Majority text, that you have Satan which is a proper noun. So, your interpretation hangs on the Received text being more accurate than the Majority text, a belief that no serious scholar would hold. Just look into the Received vs Majority Text and you will have to agree.

    • @seekingtruthbiblestudy-zac8960
      @seekingtruthbiblestudy-zac8960 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Brian_L_AI love the Majority Text and it very closely agrees with the Textus Receptus, within .02%. But on the rare occasion that it differs, I always go with the Textus Receptus. I believe the received text in the Greek, not the KJV, is the inspired, God breathed Word of God. With that said, the Majority Text, as compiled by Robinson and Pierpont, reads the exact same way as the Textus Receptus. It reads “ἄγγελος Σατᾶν,” NOT ἄγγελος Σατανᾶ as the text of Westcott and Hort does which is derived from the corrupted Alexandrian texts. Having said all this, textual criticism should never divide us brothers in Christ. I think we can all agree that whether it is angel Satan or an angel of Satan, it is not God tormenting Paul, but rather our enemy, the thief who comes to steal, kill and destroy. Thanks for the great discussion!

    • @Brian_L_A
      @Brian_L_A 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@seekingtruthbiblestudy-zac8960 I happen to have a hard copy of "The Majority Text Greek New Testament Interlinear" Second edition. It does indeed have Satana in 2 Cor. 12:7. The Received Text used no Greek manuscripts earlier than around the 1100's, (the best available then) while the Majority Text includes at least partial texts dating as early as the 100's and 200's. In a few places The Received Text prefers the Latin Vulgate to the Greek texts and even the Alexandrian to the Byzantine (Majority) a few times. And, no, you do not love the Majority Text. You throw it under the bus the minute it differs from the Received Text. In fact, the Bible Gateway website has no less than 63 Bible versions. All but one of them have something equivalent to 'messenger of Satan'. It is the Worldwide English New Testament by the defunct Soon Publishing co. It is not based on the Greek, but rather a simplification of the KJV done by a woman. I don't know how to say this other than to just say it. You are wrong. And Satan is not just an angel, he is a Cherub. He is never called a simple angel, unless you are correct, and every single Bible scholar for the past 400 years is wrong.

    • @Brian_L_A
      @Brian_L_A 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@seekingtruthbiblestudy-zac8960 my previous replies seem to have disappeared. I have a hardcopy of the Majority text in my hands. In 2 Corinthians 12:7 it is indeed "Satana" I have "The Majority Text Greek New Testament Interlinear" Published by Thomas Nelson and it contains the second edition of the Greek Text. The Received text contains the best Greek available at the writing of the KJV. However, the Greek texts used date from the eleventh to sixteenth centuries. Also, the author of the Received Text, Erasmus used the Latin Vulgate over the Greek text in places. In addition, the first edition had many typos that were mostly removed in the second edition. It wasn't until the third edition was the Comma Johanneum was added. (I John 5:7-8). So you can see it's not like the TR appeared from Heaven one day. There is no debate that the Majority text is far superior to the Received Text. Though the Received text was a wonderful thing giving us perhaps the greatest version of the Bible in history, the King James Version.

    1 John 3:4-10, New King James Version:, Sin and the Child of God 4 Whoever commits sin also commits lawlessness, and sin is lawlessness. 5 And you know that He was manifested to take away our sins, and in Him there is no sin. 6 Whoever abides in Him does not sin. Whoever sins has neither seen Him nor known Him. 7 Little children, let no one deceive you. He who practices righteousness is righteous, just as He is righteous. 8 He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil. 9 Whoever has been born of God does not sin, for His seed remains in him; and he cannot sin, because he has been born of God. The Imperative of Love 10 In this the children of God and the children of the devil are manifest: Whoever does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor is he who does not love his brother.
