1968-1971 I helped to teach "dressers" who became the main medical health care providers in Dembi Dollo, Ethiopia. Shortly after our arrival in Ethiopia, my neighbor came to borrow fire (which I had going). It was her way of saying "Welcome". We have empathy with you in your dilemma in Africa with language barrier. But like you said, "most of the world is a welcoming place". Thank you for helping with refugees in Wausau.
