Hey Soror Kennedy! Good to see you back, but so happy for you choosing to do it when you felt like it and not succumbing to internal pressure to do so sooner. My undergraduate degree is in communications (broadcast journalism) and having to take voice and diction classes plus public speaking classes were great springboards, but actually accepting opportunities that required me to do it were the best lessons. Oh, and practicing in front of the mirror and in front of supportive friends/classmates. You got this! Make sure you take necessary breaks while in grad school. Also, it's ok to say no sometimes. Don't forget that. Sometimes you'll literally have to in order to complete tasks and assignments successfully and still remain sane. Boundaries are very important for your wellbeing! Additionally, identify and set rewards for yourself along the way, as you complete different assignments, tests, papers, etc along your MBA journey. During both my masters and doctoral programs, I would set solo dates, friend outings, spa days, shopping, dinners, short day or weekend trips at the end of me completing a paper, test, case study, etc, so I'd have an incentive to complete said assignment at the specific time I planned to complete it. Gave me that extra push to get it done. But I still made sure to take those necessary breaks to recalibrate. I know I just typed a mini-pamphlet, but I hope my little advice helps in some way, as I assume you're probably doing some of these already, if not all. We're rooting for you! Love, Soror Quin 💕💚

Congrats on starting your MBA program! I used to struggle with public speaking due to a speech impediment. It's now one of my strongest attributes, all because I just forced myself into situations where I had no choice but to speak in front of an audience (classes, job requirements, spoken word showcases, etc). Just keep trying! You will get the hang of it, and the anxiety will turn into excitement.

Aw also in regards to your veggie journey. I did the Daniel’s fast and survived off beans and cucumber salad with sweet potatoes

Ken I am so proud of you getting out your comfort zone! Your anxiety during speech is not that bad compared to some that were in my class they completely ran out of the class in a sweat. You’ve got this looking forward to your continuing advancement 🤗
