How This Garage Project Changed My Life
This project began as a simple experiment in my garage, but soon turned into something much more meaningful. Life has had its challenges, and having a hands-on project like this has been a vital outlet - almost like therapy.
When I first posted a few clips of the CyberPlow on TikTok, I was blown away by the response. Nearly 20,000 followers and millions of views later, I was inspired to document the entire process for TH-cam. I set myself a goal: to reach 1,000 subscribers and 4,000 watch hours - the minimum for monetization. Not because I expected to make money, but as a personal challenge.
I’ll admit, I’m not a fan of attention, and speaking English naturally on camera isn’t exactly my strength. That’s why I’m using this AI voice - I hope that’s okay! Despite that, it’s been fun sharing this journey, proving to myself that I can be both creative and hard-working.
Now, on December 27th, I’ve surpassed 1,970 subscribers on TH-cam. It’s amazing! Some of my videos have tens of thousands of views, and people around the world have collectively spent years watching me work in my little garage here in Norway. This is my first month of monetization, and I’ve made about $100 - far more than I ever expected.
Still, this project was never about money. If it were, I would have failed miserably! What it has given me is a sense of purpose, valuable lessons, and a much-needed break from everyday life.
I wanted a project for my garage - something that combined welding with mechanics and electronics. At the same time, I thought it would be great if the machine could actually serve a purpose. Like many others, I’ve often imagined how fun it would be to have a powerful remote-controlled machine that could lift and move heavy objects, pull the kids on a sled, or tow a trailer around the yard. And then the idea hit me: snowplowing. Clearing snow easily and comfortably with a remote control.
After all, we’re living in 2025 - the future imagined by the past! That’s when the machine got its name. It already looked a bit like a remote-controlled Cybertruck. And with a snowplow mounted to the front, the name naturally became: The CyberPlow!
Shoveling snow manually? That’s so outdated. That’s why I built this: the CyberPlow - a remote-controlled machine that makes clearing snow a blast. It’s not just for snow either; it can do a lot of other fun and practical stuff, as you’ll see in this video.
The Build - Let’s Talk Nerdy
The CyberPlow is built on a steel frame with sheet metal, all welded by yours truly - not perfectly, but that’s what angle grinders are for! It’s powered by two 500-watt DC motors, geared down to 600 RPM to drive the snow-blower wheels. The drivetrain uses custom 20-mm axles, sprockets, and motorcycle chains for reliable four-wheel drive.
For power, it runs on two car batteries delivering 24 volts of plowing energy. It’s controlled by an RC transmitter paired with a Sabertooth 2x60A motor controller. Safety first: there’s a failsafe system that cuts power if the signal is lost or an emergency stop is triggered.
The Plow and Features
In the front, I’ve added a custom snowplow blade with a homemade lift system. It uses three linear actuators for smooth up, down, and side-to-side adjustments. With bright LED lights, I can plow day or night in style. Honestly, it feels like driving a giant RC car - but one that actually gets stuff done!

i love the electronic parts of it... but i think a hibrid would be better... take an ATV system, motor driveshaft etc so u get the power needed to plow snow... and use the electronic parts for secondary needs etc.... would increase efficiency ...

Great video! I think your channel has a lot of potential to really takeoff. It seems like there’s not a lot of people that have real skills with their hands these days and people love this type of stuff with engineering. I think you making a video about how you acquired these skills for welding, engineering, and electrical would be very interesting and beneficial and would be a series I would definitely watch.
