Haha interesting take on the short ball. Aravinda de Silva would have simply kept with the pull and hook and with today's bats they would have all gone for six. But a great player always recognizes his strengths and weaknesses and that's what Mahela did.
@Jin Amarasinghe Aravinda was a very careless batsmen at least until close to 1994. He had some good innings of course, but we also could have won more had he taken more responsibility in early 90s. But for sure that most gifted player we had and we were so lucky that he reached the peak of maturity in 1996.
