Hi my Name is Pat. This channel is about playing in the outdoors in our area of Western Maryland, WV and the Laurel HighLands of PA. We do a little bit of everything from hiking, skiing, kayaking, road cycling, mountain biking, inner tubing, and shooting photo's. Our local outdoor group is Garrett County Outdoors. ( groups/garrettcountyoutdoors) Everyone is welcome to join in on our adventures and we encourage you to come on out and play in these here hills. We are not real TH-camrs more of just posting video's of what our area has to offer. If you are in our area and see something we are doing and want to join in feel free to come along.
Cassidy Trail
This video is of riding in the Dixie National Forest.
We started out on the Cassidy Trail. Then we hit the Braydon trail, Red Canyon and the Rich Trail. The Cassidy Trail is pretty much a novice trail with incredible views. Lots of climbing to get started but once you make it to the top it is pretty much just rolling and super scenic. The Rich and Braydon point trails were the most technical. I only have mostly the steeper sections in this video of Rich and Braydon point trails so the video is not a good example what you will be riding. If you just stay on the Cassidy and Red Canyon trail it is very flowy and not hard just a lot of climbing to the top of the canyon. Once you ride around at the top of the canyon it is almost all down hill back to the parking lot. We rode the Thunder Mountain trail the day before which is really fun and scenic but if you want something easier with the same type of views this would be a good choice. If you look at the trail map at the trail head there are all kinds of loops you can do for more milage. They also have the Arches trail that has a bunch of smaller arches.

Thunder Mountain

Thunder Mountain is located inside Dixie National Forest. This trail is the most scenic trail I have ever ridden. There is only a few technical spots and most of the trail is single track gravel. There is a lot of climbing and descending the whole length of the trail. The video does not represent the steepness, narrowness of the trail, or the exposure very well. There are some really steep sect...
Wranglers
มุมมอง 8221 วันที่ผ่านมา
Wranglers is a fun trail and is one of my favorite descents when riding Mary's or Horsthief to get back to the parking lot. Wranglers is pretty easy and everything rolls which makes it fun to descend at the end of a longer ride. www.mtbproject.com/trail/252701/wrangler
Second half of Little Scraggy 4K
มุมมอง 5821 วันที่ผ่านมา
We rode clockwise and the second half of Little Scraggy is like a deferent trail compared to the first 6 plus miles. This side is a lot more flowy and a lot less tech. There is still a few climbs but nothing bad. The whole trail is really fun and scenic

This is part one of the little Scraggy Trail Loop in Pike National Forest Colorado. This is a really fun trail. It has all kinds of fun features and house sized rocks that look like they were randomly placed along the trail. Most of the features have ride arounds if you are not feeling the features. We rode the loop clockwise and the first 6 or 7 miles has most of the climbing and difficulty in...
P, B, & J 18 Road Trails
มุมมอง 326หลายเดือนก่อน
Really fun downhill trail in Fruita Colorado at the 18 road trails. There are two pretty good climbs but not bad. The first time down you might want to take it easy. There is some pretty good exposure on a lot of the trail and some sneaky blind turns.

It has been about a year since I have ridden Cherry Creek trail. Forgot how fun it is. Lots of fun techy spots with some nice drops.

Shau Chi and I spent the day riding around Snowshoe WV. This was our first time down these trails so we were taking it easy to make sure we did not get in over our heads. We had such a great time. Love Snowshoe!!!
M & O Trails 4K
มุมมอง 592 หลายเดือนก่อน
Us two retired guy's wanted to try some intermedaite tech trails so we hit the M and O trails. Both were really fun and in our skill level. It was our first time riding the M and O trails so we were taking our time down and picking lines on the fly. We survived which was super cool. People say we need to act our age. Well, I think we do a pretty good job of that.

Ohiopyle State Park MTBing 4K

This is Wild Turkey Trail. One of the new trails in the Potato Ridge MTB area at Ohiopyle State Park. The trail is really fun and probably a greenish difficulty. It would be fun for anyone. There are some features built in so you can send it if you want or if you want to keep it Novice just ride around them. I think it is between a mile or two. I rode Clockwise which is the suggested direction....
Gooseberry Mesa 4K
มุมมอง 56711 หลายเดือนก่อน
Gooseberry Mesa is one of the most scenic trails I have ever ridden. This trail is super fun and has a little bit of everything. The Windmill trail has incredible views almost the whole ride. I only rode about 15 miles but I spent the whole day on on the Mesa. This Trail is incredible. I thought it was rated blue but MTB Project has it rated black.
Rainbow Rim Trail 4K

This video is of the Rainbow Rim Trail on the North Rim of the Grand Canyon. The trail and views are incredible. Very scenic and hard to ride because there is a fantastic view every few feet. The trail is not very hard. I think a strong novice would really enjoy this trail. There are a few long climbs but nothing technical. Even the drive to the north rim was pretty spectacular. We saw herds of...

This was our first time riding Horsethief Bench Trail. The Kokopelli Trails system is an awesome area to mountain bike. There is something for every skill level. Horsethief Bench has a little bit of everything with lots of fast flowy sections with some really fun tech to session. There were two spots we walked. The views are incredible which made it hard to ride. Being it was our first time rid...

some massive boulders, wow!!! it is very pretty there. let me guess that is boulder colorado? lol
It is Buffalo Creek area. About an hour from Denver. Really fun.
You cut the trail!
Is the admission free?
Yes, There is no cost to ride these trails. Awesome set up there.
Biker breaks back. 🙈
All I can say is WOW WHAT A TRAIL! Great video!!
Thanks. That trail is so scenic. There are other trails that do loops in Dixie National Forest that are as scenic but not as long with a little less climbing and more tech. The views through out that area are amazing. You would love it.
Wow, nice video and great riding! Those rocks look like a lot of fun!
Beautiful trail! Man, I'd love riding there.
It is a fun one. That whole area has a lot of fun trails.
Wow, a fun looking trail and very nice video! Looks like a fast trail. Did you check your max speed?
Looks like only about 21 miles an hour. You had to really watch your speed around the turns. They were blind and super exposed if you went off the trail. It was fast and flowy. Only two good sized climbs but not steep. Super fun trail to rip down.
@@paddyoohh3882 Yes, I watched the video a second time and noticed your front tire washed out a little on one turn. There looked like a few places where the front tire losing traction could be a disaster.
I want to be able to ride as good as Paddy OOHH when I grow up! Looks like a really fun trail.
HA HA, Thanks, Just love riding bikes.
glad to see you still on the Siskui T8
It has been a great bike for me. It has got me out of a lot of trouble. Very forgiving bike when I goof up.
You're video reades India Man.l 😉
I love watching riders when they go to MO haha welcome to the trails of your most splendid nightmares. Spoiler alert you’re gonna have to jump a lot.
LOL, I found that out. I thought I was gonna bite it hard at that gap drop. I am not much of a jumper and did not have enough speed or pop. Once I left the ground I knew I was not going to clear it. That bike park is really fun and set up super nice. Had a great time!!
@@paddyoohh3882 well you are always welcome, and you’ll get used to the vultures. They just want to be buddies.
Pat looking at your latest videos. I can see your riding has gotten a lot better. Doing more rock drops and working on them jumps. Yeah buddy 🤙🏾
Thanks Oscar, Been working on it. Want to do it while I am young.
Nice riding, Pat. that trail would wear me out!
We can ride up the fire road and ride down the trail. There is a big climb from Cherry Creek but by doing the fire road it would be super fun without all the climbing tech.
You giving me the snowshoe bug. Thanks pat😂🤙🏾
We had such a fun day!! Would have been fun to have you riding with us.
🚲🎥👍👍

Awesome!
Wow, nice riding!
Great video of a fun trail! I had an enjoyable day getting worn out!
That was a super fun day!!
I love Coopers Rock. I go several times a year.
Nice video! Small world, that’s actually me at the 14:00 mark!
Cool!!
That flat turn at the end was by design lol. Slows you down for the intersection.
Thanks for posting! Will have to check this out
Wow, looks like a lot of fun! I'm trying hard to get back in shape so that I can enjoy riding again. I want to do that trail.
Cool, Give me a holla and I will go over with you.
Flow + Chunk = Super Nice! Enjoyed the video, will checkout the place 🤙🏻
Cool, Deep Creek Lake State Park has some really fun trails. Give me a holler if you come out. Be glad to show you around.
How much does it cost to ride there?
Nothing, It is.a public bike park and is really set up nice.
Beautiful!!
It is. Hard to ride without stopping to take in the views
cool!
Thanks. It is an incredible ride. The scenery is fantastic.
"Psh, that's only a class II view" 😅
Looks like a fun place to ride... not so nasty like most of the trails here in southern NV.
They are super fun!! Everything Rolls and it is very scenic. That whole Navajo Rocks trail system is really fun. Big Mesa and Ramblin are my favorites though.
So does the park groom these trails for fat biking after a significant snow?
Hi Michael, Yes they groom the cross country trails but not the new single track trails. We fat biked the new trails a bunch last year.
Cush Core?
Nice video, thanks for sharing. I've been to the Olsen fire tower before. Did you use part of the Blackwater Canyon trail to get down to Hendricks? Did you arrange a shuttle to pick you up in Hendricks? Very hilly in Tucker county, but very scenic too!
Hi GOM, Yes we set a shuttle. It such a fun scenic ride. We do this ride a few times during the year. The fall colors from this trail are amazing during peak leaf changing.
Nice video and great riding. I used to ride McCune often 7 and 8 years ago. Loved that trail when I was in shape. There was one short section right before the long fun downhill that I never could ride, and I was wondering if you guys rode that part. Hope to ride with you soon.
I hope so!! Man it has been awhile since we have ridden together. Always a fun time ripping through the woods with you.
Hey did you notice where the guy went over the hill??? That is just below where you crashed last time we rode there.
Yes I did notice. I thought about that crash when I saw it. 😄@@paddyoohh3882
Ain't no town centers and shopping strips as there are in other counties going east of it....but it's simply beautiful
Hi
This part of Maryland is consistently rural and country beautiful......feels like West Virginia ❤
Pat really enjoying your rides. I just moved to Eastern Panhandle of WV from North East MD, most of my MTB riding was "flat" compaired to the trials in this area with a hard tail, looking to go to a full suspension for the riding around me now. I have been looking at your T8 would you recommend it? Anything you would change?
Thanks!! We have a group out here in our trip state area of Pa, Md and WV. Everyone is always welcome to participate. If you ever want to join us just give us a holla. I love riding out here. There is something for every ability. facebook.com/groups/garrettcountyoutdoors
Love the whoop whoop at the end. 🔥🫶🏽💯🤙🏾💪🏾
Thanks Oscar. We had such a great weekend. Hopefully you can make it out to the Canaan MTB Fest next year. They do such a great job and it is super fun. facebook.com/blackwaterbikeassociation/
For as "flowy" as this trail system is, it's a lot of pedaling too. I always forget how much of a workout it is until I go back there, lol.
For sure!!
Wonderful video Pat! Excellent narration! Teeter-Tottet! Lol!
Thanks Bridgette. I am glad you and CJ got to go to the lake. It is beautiful.
Such technical and physically demanding trail, great riding 🤙
Thanks, I was not sure about riding it but Shredder Dad said he thought I would be ok. Glad he encouraged me. That trail was a blast. I think that is the first time I have ever needed to catch my breath on a descending trail.
Did you shuttle up to the top or did you have a particular trail that's used for pedaling up to the start point of that long stretch of trail?
We shuttled up. They were running a shuttle all day for the ride day. That shuttle made it so much better.
Awesome stuff for certain. I am planning on riding that route 81 corridor for the next four years. I may include that trail network in the mix.
@@toniobicicleta It is worth the visit. Hope you get a chance to ride there.
Nice video. Great job rigging that camera mount! Hope to ride with you again soon.
Good stuff out there Pat. 🤙🏾🔥.
Heck yeah pat Hitting them drops. Gritty up was fast. Great riding. Paul is fast too. 🤙🏾🔥
Good times pat. Glad you made it through thunderstruck. A couple of more runs and you should be able to clear that no problem. Paul was killing it out there as well.
Thanks for the encouragement. It was both of our first time riding Thunderstruck and Paul was leading out. I was lucky I could see his lines. Paul was riding blind. That Trail is a work of art. I want to be able to ride like you when I grow up.
Good stuff out there Pat, you guys were catching some serious speed on those trails. 🤙🏾🔥💪🏾
The trails are really easy and flowy. They were fun and fast.
