Among his many literary achievements, Edgar Allan Poe is credited with creating the genre of detective fiction with his 1841 story The Murders in the Rue Morgue, paving the way for fictional sleuths from Sherlock Holmes to Nancy Drew. It is fitting, then, that the author’s own death in 1849 remains one of American literature’s great unsolved mysteries. In June 1849 Poe embarked on a speaking to...

Would it kill ya to use your voice instead of A.I. i really appreciate the work you did to get facts down about the artist, but man, a.i. voice is killing me
AI sucks. Out
Easy to figure out why this channel never took off… not only did it cop out and use an AI voice for narration, but then Larry chose THE MOST IRRITATING AI VOICE AVAILABLE! The videos came to my attention because I love The Band and Rick Danko, but I only made it thru about 5 minutes. Sadly, another potentially interesting channel killed by AI.
Love you Rick GOD BLESS you 🙏
Robot voice
I don't think any other group melded so well together as these five men.
❤ Love Danko
there's a lot of important information in this vid, thank you for sharing this knowledge !
He played a fretless bass during most of his career. A true musician.
No mention of The Band albums of the 1970s?
In high school we had a really cool history teacher one day he wandered in with Music From Big Pink and Alice's Restaurant under his arm so we were educated in great music Stan became a friend to us I howled like a baby when I got that phone call telling me that he had died but it was just as well because he was at the early stages of dementia and he knew it.
Heres to R.D
He was an awesome talent!!
The dancing bass man. I miss him. Times were better then
No to robovoice
👌🙏🙏😞
Rick Danko was one of the best singers/musicians ever. He is terribly missed. 🗽
22 Children. And she managed to teach a heavily disabled child to read and write... I am here, struggeling with ONE child...
Danko was most definitely the weakest link in The Band . His career , or lack of, after The Band , is telling ....................
addict....what did the other 4 do....robbies cds were junk.
Robbie had a very successful career after The Band. Solo albums, starred in movies and most important composing music for Martin Scorsese's movies. I don't agree that Rick was the weakest link, listen to him sing Stage Freight or It makes no difference. He did quite a few songs with other members of The Band in the eighties, listen to him singing "A long black veil".@@kevinjoseph517
Those of us who are fans of Rick's will disagree and so will his band members. This is what Robbie wrote of Rick in his book, when they were performing The Last Waltz: As soon as Rick started to sing "It makes no difference" I knew he was weaving a spell, he sounded as good as he looked. Rick's support in music and in life was unparalleled in this group, come rain or shine Rick had your back. As for his musical abilities, Robbie wrote he could hear intricate parts, he was the king of harmonies, it was because of Rick the Band got known for their harmonies. He played a fretless bass while singing harmonies and killer vocals, that is a high wire act. Does not sound like a weak link. Probably Richard was the weakest link, not because he wasn't talented or had and incredible voice, but his addiction to alochol and drugs interferred with his performances.
Tell us that you know nothing about The Band without telling us you know nothing about The Band.
@@robertbruce6865Your comment makes no sense and who are you replying to? If you are replying to me, obviously I know something about the Band since I read Robbie's book, I read Barney Hoskyns biography of The Band and listened to several interviews here on Utube. Check out Rick's version of "A long black Veil" from 1983, it is available here on Utube. Or listen to him sing "Stagefreight". Rick had many fans, still does.
Simcoe isn't huge, but it's certainly not tiny.
How did he wipe himself after a dump😮
With his left foot 😐
@@hmmmm636 his mommy wiped him😵💫🤣
@user-ob1oi7kn2w She didn't live forever. She prepared him I'm sure, like she really lived till he was almost 50. I doubt it.
@@hmmmm636 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
@@DeeLee-p8c left foot only thing that worked, I'm being serious. I'm actually imagining. Seems difficult, but so does anything with my left foot.
This AI crap sounds like a cheap obituary for Rick. All culled from Wikipedia. Piss off.
Trifecta Jerry Lowell Rick
Thank You! Rick Danko is the greatest!
Robots can’t tell stories
Simcoe is not that tiny. That's the big city if you're from Dover or Turkey Point
Rick was NOT the lead singer!
The Band had 3 great singers, Rick was one of them. All were great. I love Rick.
I know that. They all used to hang out at our house ( except Garth).I'm a bit familiar with them.@@hannejeppesen1809
He also claimed Simcoe is tiny. Simcoe is the big city if you're from Fisherville. Cheers
Who writes this shit?
The band was the only group that rise to the skill level of Dylan’s vocal prowess
Thats sarcasm right ? Dylans vocals are almost unlistenable...his lyrics however are sublime .
I think they were way more sophisticated than Dylan.
Obviously,you don't get it
@@edwardclark9057 i agree with you.. "obviously" !
Excellent !
Rick was one of three great vocalists of the legendary group, the Band. A great singer and bass player.
Is this the voice of AI?
I noticed that too. Tbh, it kill my interest in listening to it.
yes it is
yes
Just had to follow this with a listen of "Stage Fright" from The Last Dance. Do yourself favor and remember what a great voice he possesed .
The last Waltz?
there's one floating around that isolates his vocals on this. It's breathtaking.
My favorite has to be “ it makes no difference “ masterpiece
@@Paul-ue6zo Both "It makes no difference" and Stage Fright, is outstanding. When Rick sings Stage Fright at The Last Waltz and the light hits his face it is just magical. And the emotion and heartache in his voice on "It makes no difference" can break your heart.
Kudos to _Sweet Pickles_ for actually taking the time to do the research for a real animal that starts with the letter X. For decades, I always thought they made the character up. I never knew that the xerus actually existed... 😳
John was from Dallas. The McClamrock family lived just a few blocks from where I grew up in north Dallas. This tragic football accident will forever be etched in my memory. John’s younger brother Henry was in my graduating class at Hillcrest high school. Very unfortunately, Henry passed away on Christmas Day 2022.
This is literally the Wikipedia article word for word.
Actually, the scientific name of the topi is actually Elaphops topi, it is actually a separate species from the tsessebe (Elaphops lunatus).

No. He was from Dallas, Texas and he went to Hillcrest High School (in Dallas). Belton?
Great video, but your voice seems a little robotic.
Have a look also to the “True story of playing cards” for a comprehensive explanation of their origin
Great video!!!!!
The addition of the images enhances the story. Thank you!
