The hotel/inn you are going to stay at probably have parking spaces for the customers! at 3:07 mark, you can see tht the main onsen area is just so near from where I am standing , and the parking is just to my left. Parkings are lined up along the path going to ginzan. the reason we had trouble finding ours was because we are driving almost near the onsen and we couldn't find it yet, so we thought maybe we missed it. So I had to go out of the car and walk to look for our parking space. Turned out it is just few walks away from the onsen area. Driving in that area on a snowy weather is a bit dangerous. We were involved in a car crash accident the day we filmed this video. you can see "a bit of a damage" in our car. Please be extra careful!

Hi! This was filmed late December! It was cold but no snow at all! If I remember it correctly, temperature varied around 8C ~ 2C. hope this helps!

Yamagata is a very snowy region in north Japan. Snow starts about mid December ☺️ You just have to be careful as sometimes, there are public transpo suspension due to heavy snowfall.

How about going near Mt. Fuji?, there are ryokans that has private onsen with a view of Mt.Fuji. or you can visit Shirakawa-go? actually Shirakawa-go is in my bucket list . The scenery is superb in winter there. The last one is Aomori, the snowiest city in the world ☺️, but it's a bit far northern Japan. But there are lots of onsen, and winter sports resorts. please try to research the places I mentioned, so you can check them out too. but I totally recommend Shirakawa-go!

how long did it take?

It took us around 30 mins to climb up, that was because we stop every 10 minutes. But according to the park, it just takes 20 minutes on average to climb it. ☺️☺️☺️ The view from the top is priceless by the way, definitely worth it☺️

I recommend going in the bamboo forest before 9 am as it gets really crowded late in the morning. If you can, go there around 8, then after exploring the bamboo forest, head to the Monkey park. ☺️ Don't worry about going there late (monkey park) because it doesn't get crowded much.
