Am I Enough
มุมมอง 898 ปีที่แล้ว
Apologies for the occasional blurring as the camera adjusts to the lighting. Hopefully it is clear enough to get the performance across! Exploring the role of women in society today and how we constantly label ourselves, trying to meet unattainable expectations through dance and movement. It is my latest version of the piece, which has been modified from its previous state (found here: vimeo.co...
Elastic Heart Contemporary Dance
มุมมอง 878 ปีที่แล้ว
A routine I choreographed on a major time crunch considering I had a limited time to do it for a competition in Malaysia whilst I was meant to be enjoying my holiday! But alas, this is what I performed for the Finals of the Nu Sentral "Bring On Nu Talent!" competition. Had some really great competitors and I am very proud of those who won (the amazing beatbox boys!) Totally deserved! Also pleas...

"Don't Want To Give Up (The Fight)" Dance Idea
มุมมอง 8210 ปีที่แล้ว
Just a little choreography I've been working on this past week or so. Very raw, still fresh and only rough. But really enjoying using my body for solely dance again - it has been too long since I've choreographed anything purely dance, that is, without an injection of acrobatics or incorporation of some juggling balls here and there. Choreography and Dancer: Tengku Nurul Sofia Music: Thrill by ...

Circomedia Audition RAW
มุมมอง 1.1K11 ปีที่แล้ว
Not my tightest nor best performance but it was an audition for Circomedia, Bristol (which I am currently studying at, therefore proving my audition was a success nonetheless! :DD) but would like to in the future expand and tweak this piece. One day! Enjoy. Song: Ellam Onru by Cirque du Soleil (Zaia) Choreographer: Tengku Nurul Sofia I do not own the rights to this song.

Choreography: Illia Surya Afifuddin Co-choreographer: Tengku Nurul Sofia Music: You Da One by Rihanna Inspiration: The lyrics and the beat... And the cheese. A Thousand Years
มุมมอง 2.3K13 ปีที่แล้ว
A dance I choreographed, which Illia helped in its creation, to one of my favourite songs by Sting. It is a piece I was very passionate about and still am and it's a dance I am exceptionally proud of (: It is based on the song's meanings - two soul mates, who meet each other in every lifetime but in different bodies. The circular motif movements symbolise the infinite recurrence of their encoun...
Waitress Dance
มุมมอง 36713 ปีที่แล้ว
Blurb: So two silly waitresses working in a cafe, under the supervision of a hot female manager. They can never take anything seriously and the hot female manager is easily frustrated at their lack of efficiency. Once they begin to start properly working, hot guy walks in and suddenly, they have lost all sense of morality. They battle it out for hot guy's number - but in the end, do either of t...
Eyes Like Yours Belly Dance
มุมมอง 21K13 ปีที่แล้ว
Wahey!~ Leah and I got back out there and did our THANG! It has been two years thus we are rough around the edges. And sorry for the rubbish quality of a camera ( it is a dodgy camera and my mum was distracted a couple of times regarding the dance and her arm being held up too long during videoing ) but otherwise, A JOB WELL DONE! I am very proud! ( Bear in mind also that we did NOT have much t...
Until now, this is the best choreography for this song. I wish seeing other new works of you 🌹
This is KILLER. 🎶🔥
I'm curious to know how talented they become those two wonderful girls. Do you have new dance videos?
Not bad but I can do better
post a video lets see
Your smile at the end is what dancing is all about. Just enjoy yourself and ignore the negativity.
So nice.Congratulations
I love it !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Congrats :)
wow. that was amazing
Pay no attention to trolls. While they are still living in their mothers in basement is 20 years, you could be dancing like this in five: th-cam.com/video/pmBCdSKEkfM/w-d-xo.html Best wishes.
Thank you for the nice comments - they are appreciated and received with sincere gratitude! However, the trolls who decide to say the odd nasty thing or two, I suggest you take a hard look at yourself. We aren't curvy enough? Well that's probably because we are not even 16 years old yet here so we have hardly gone through puberty. And that we should leave it to the orient? That ain't going to stop me, because at the end of the day, you're the one watching my video and ain't nobody watching you. So. Have a gorgeous day the rest of you! And thank you for the support. I continue to dance and have had the motivation to even try out dancehall, contemporary, ballet among others! So check out for more in the near future I hope!
the person who said leave it to the orient that was an ignorant comment. I have met many orientals with two left feet and I have met many non oriental that get asked to go over there to perform since they are so amazing. dance is something that comes from the heart you don't have to be a certain nationality to out dance another person.
gostei ;)
Hey Sofia I was just wondering how long it took you to find out if you got offered a place? Like what month did you find out? The reason Im asking is I would like an idea of when I need to start looking for accommodation etc! :-)
Hi Joseph! I had auditioned I think in June or July (whichever audition slot it was) and I found out in August so it only took about a month (or a month and a half at most) before I found out. If you need help with accommodation, inbox me and I can provide some (hopefully useful) tips! (:
Hey Sofia, that's awesome thanks for your help! I think Im ok on the accommodation side of things for the moment but if I have any questions ill be sure to contact you, thanks again for all your help! ;-)
Hey Im auditioning for this course in March and I am super excited about it, I was wondering could I ask you a few things about the audition day please??? :-)
Hi there Joseph, you could ask me questions about the audition process however I won't be able to help you on account of not being there myself - I submitted this video because I wasn't in the country and applied as an international student. I'm sorry!
Yay, Imogen Heap! :) Lovely, Sofia! I really liked your use of the floor.
don't worry about it!! i'm actually not flexible hahaha i am more now though! how about email me and then i can reply any questions you have!! (: i will message you on your youtube channel!!
I'm trying to audition this year but if not next year ::) Hopefully i'll get in.. although i'm not as flexible as you :s I was wondering, is the training really intense at Foundation? How many hours do you guys do a week? (sorry for the questions, I'm just really excited for Circomedia)
thank you! my audition was for the foundation degree (: as i was unable to attend the audition i had to send in a video! when are you applying for? if next year i look forward to meeting you! :DD
I was wondering (i am applying as well) was the audition for btec or foundation?? I liked your performance :))
C'mon people, don't be too harsh. These girls are probably still learning bellydance, they never said they were professional dancers. I think the coreography was really nice, and the whole performance was pretty good :) Keep dancing girls! <3
I liked the choreography and the costumes
Bad because they are not curvy !
Abdeldjalil E. Curves are better in belly dancing for sure. I've done it for years and won many awards. This is my favorite song
thank you so much! this has totally made my day! thank you (: *wipes tear away*
I highly doubt she posted this video to get your approval, or any random person's approval. sofia; you look like you had fun, and you chose beautiful music. good job :)
yada yada yada..get ur own comebacks
then you're a snobby cow. truth hurts ;)
Truth hurts sweety ;)
woah there "crazylova" we weren't trying to prove ourselves as better than Arabs it's something we enjoy and wanted to perform - you asking us to "leave it to the Orient" is like asking people to leave ballet to the french or hip hop to the afro-americans. i don't mind if you have a problem with the dance/choreography but you do not take it out on me or on here, a few words of advice would be appreciated instead. learn some manners because what you said was unnecessary.
Not very impressed .Looks too staged and choreographed. Leave belly dancing to the Orient.
crazylova91 I'm not orient and have won awards to this song but I'd agree they aren't that great
that's why Arabs do it better.. Go to an Arabic wedding and look at how regular girls do it, you'll notice the big difference. It is really in our blood :P
Waaaaa! Beautiful job! Well done!
im the only one that liked it -.-
don't be hating bro.
this was outside Michael May's house actually in Putrajaya not too far, next to Alamanda.
good choreography, horrible location. So far out into the desert
U girls are hot :) very nice.
very nice !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
wow nice synchro :D
@DesertRose1010 Thank you! We were performing at our school (Alice Smith School) International school in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, not USA I am afraid. My belly dance teacher was caleld Paola Blantan I think... Not sure about her last name. But honestly, to all who commented, thank you so much for your input and forms of flattery I really do appreciate it (: with love xox
That is sooo good. Keep it up and the videos!
this is incredible sofia and illia! xx
@essiedee Thank youuuuuu (:
i remember this its amazeballs. love you wifey <3
@natashahunn30 I'm afraid I don't, not on me. But the track is the Requiem for a Dream soundtrack you can find it on TH-cam for the full theme song. (:
do u have to music for this so i can download it?
@cmquidgley Thank you SOOOO much!! :DD love hearing feedback like this thank you (:
This is the most beautiful "Desert Rose" routine I've seen. You did a great job!!!
this is cool. But the thing about good Belly Dancing is to let yourself go weith the music,..not stay controlled with every movement. Just an fiy. :)
beautiful
@SithLordDez why THANK YOU :DDD
