The top was closed, took S-53 to get to that part

@@matthewschmid565 Yeah, stowe does that, the steepest part of National is the top as well, and they close it. There a lot of videos on that one as well where they enter through the drop in.

Most of the steep stuff will remain closed. While I was there the steepest trail they had open was bypass

Maybe 63kph? That would be more believable at around 40mph. What length skis were you on? Maybe you should enlighten us as to what skis you were on? The advancements you speak of are in turning capabilities , maybe not so much straight line speed. Mine were 198's so built to go fast. As a matter of fact they were Dynastar and the model was ScaryFast. They were long straight and scary fast if you let them run. Might be old but still faster then you.😀@@matthewschmid565

I mean I did tuck and what not, I don’t truly believe that I was going 63 but based off of when the app tells me I’m going 40-50 this felt like 60

@@matthewschmid565 I saw your tuck in the shadow. ;) Hands on knees isn't exactly the best position, but it's a start. When in a proper tight tuck, your chest is almost touching your knees. It burns the quads! Going fast is fun. And when ya really get going super fast, the skis make this weird almost vacuum whoosh sound. I've skied all over the east, but moved out to Utah to make Snowbird my home mountain. Park City is cool, but in Utah, check out Snowbird, Alta, and Solitude for steeps, Deer Valley for groomers, Snowbasin for the 2002 Olympic Downhill runs, and Powder Mtn is probably one of the best kept secrets. Powder is HUGE! If you go exploring Powder Mtn you can still get fresh tracks a week after a storm. Best wishes. Have fun on the Greatest Snow on Earth!

Yeah I’m no racer, also my 4th straight day of skiing on this trip so wasn’t exactly looking to burn out the quads lol. I ski the east but I’ve been out west twice and it’s pretty sick. Wasn’t able to make it to any where else in Utah but PC, hopefully next year if I go IKON

It depends if your paying for a day pass, prices can run up and over 200 dollars but if you buy a pass that will cost around 700 and it’s honestly worth it if you go a couple times

Eh, it’s short but I don’t know if I’d say it’s the easiest diamond. I would say nosedive or Main Street over at spruce peak are a big easier

@@matthewschmid565 now I’m remembering, when I did it it had just gotten snow so there weren’t really “moguls” per se, just a little lumpy. It’s not steep, it’s the moguls that make it hard. That would explain why I thought it was easier. Main Street headwall is pretty easy, so I get your point

Yeah it also has a few small cliffs and obstacles as well, they’re easily avoidable but for someone who’s not a great skier, the groomed blacks are easier.

I live on the east coast and my trip was end of February. From what I’ve heard it’s been a great March up there so far, but I really can’t say how it’s going to be in mid April

I was actually trying to get over to lookout which was closed from the top but had some fresh tracks on it. I should’ve just taken S-53 but I’m an idiot and I thought I would be able to traverse through the top of these trees. Tres Amigos is a bit lower down where it opens up more. Where I was, was unmarked and tight as shit. I do not recommend it. Tres amigos is fun though I got to ski that earlier that day.

@@matthewschmid565 Yeah, that did not look very fun. If you cut all the way across Tres Amigos it will bring you to Lookout.

Yeah at the top section I thought I could but it was far too tight and there was no space for me to cut across with the down trees as well. When I got lower on it, it opens up a little more and I was able to cut across to lookout

Lol not wrong, the trails usually harder in the east to be honest. I’m trying to think but which mountain in the east has a trail named east face?

@@matthewschmid565 There is no trail named east face that I know of but it did remind me of North Face at Seven Springs which they copied off of one of the Colorado resorts. The locals also call skiiers right of the North Face slope East Face. They also copied other trails/slopes such as Lost Boy, Giant Steps, Stowe (after a Vermont resort), and Tyrol

Not really, the top part is a fun windy trail with a little bit of a steep section. It then empties out into a catwalk type trail before dipping down into another steep twisty section.

I don’t make trail ratings, but if I had to give it a rating it’s prob a single black, go pro effect does take the steepness back a little bit.

I don’t use poles so ab half of it is just balance but they were definitely flailing a bit on this run

I don't make the trail ratings dude. Welcome to the Catkills. Only real challenge is the ice.

That’s completely fair. My max was at park city a few weeks ago at 63. Firm snow but soft enough to be able to slow yourself down
