A bit late, but I WISH 246 emulation was actually good. MAME, currently has PRELIMINARY support for previous systems, but, from what I know, NO support for 246/56 hardware games, and no dumps of them online are readily available, as far as I know.

The main problem with Virtua Fighter series is that the game reached its perfection in VF5 and there was not much to add anything beyond that point. The thing is the game is mainly about real tactical fighting without any crazy storylines or wacky characters like cyborg ninjas (if you font count Dural) or demons throwing lazers from their eyes. If you want pure fighting VF5 gives you enough and you can play the game even 10 years after this and still get the same joy.
So I've been playing for almost 25 years, I didn't know that's how the all guard works, so if I understand. Mag jab + wolve slide assist, then mags overhead RH.. If I stand PB the mag jab it won't autoblock the wolve slide unless I switch to downback? But If I do, I will autoblock the overhead even though I'm holding downback?
The magneto overhead and wolverine slide low is a true unblockable. Justin wong was playing magneto bone wolverine and was doing it.
@@imperialcultivator8327 MVC2 doesn't have any true up/down unblockables. You can't get hit by more than one thing in a single frame, so you could always block one do ther push block trick, block the other way. Yeah, it would be super hard to block 1f wolve next frame mag short short, but not "unblockable", just unblockable. =)
Push block is a good tool but it also a double edged sword when you play with the pros.. in some cases push blocks can lead to guard breaks and can cost you a game. If you watch the pros playing you are not going to see a lot it.. if you get frame trapped you can get triangle jumped and wrecked in seconds lol it works but is not the best tool of defense in this game
Can we do all these combos in normal tekken ?? And can you make a tutorial on it

do a longer video. You got good info, but it feels incomplete without talking about how pushblocking mid air prevents falling. And how pushblocking in normal jump mode can cause noobs to guard break themselves and go, "Hey! wtf i was blocking!"

@@SleepmodeKNB would also be worth mentioning the counterplay(s) to pushblock so that people don't get the impression that it's a "get out of jail" card for them to play on defense.

I agree. The video was too short. This video was like what the introduction to the full video should've been like. Then there should've been a part about the downsides and counter-play vs push blocking. Then finally, there should've been a more advanced uses section before wrapping up. Like what people mention in this sub-thread already.

this game is released way after Decade finished airing, where Abyss first showed up and it's a Dragon Knight game, to there's no reason to add Abyss to the game

I brought this to locals last night and got to fuck around with someone else, and man, nevermind the blocking shit, autotargeting the closer of the two characters was awful.
14:40 That moment when you realize Camo/Verde is essentially the Climax Hero version of MK's Reptile... Right down to the invisibility move. I mean I get that he's a lizard, but still... uncanny.
Another broken thing about the tag style, is that you can use any form that you like by default, that includes Rider's Ultimate Forms.
Man. Learning so much about this game. I gotta set myself up to play it one day.

Gundam VS are fighting games since they are basically Virtual-On, 3d arena fighter with fast mechs and usually lots of zoning since almost everyone has a multitude of guns (which in some cases could be considered a 3d shmup-fighter mix, kinda like Senko no Ronde, Acceleration of Suguri and such)

I'll be honest, depending on how many original AM2 guys are still knocking around working on this theoretical VF6, I'd be pretty hyped about radical design changes. If it's a bunch of AM2 veterans that know VF inside and out, I'd be happy giving them free reign. Who knows better what works and what doesn't in a VF game than AM2? Fuck it, if they put super arts and special cancels and EX moves in the game I wouldn't complain. They'd find a way to set a new standard for the mechanics in the whole genre, let alone make the mechanics work in VF. Imagine doing a super, your opponent getting hit, and then they do a specific input in a precise window during the super animation to cut the animation short and turn your super into their super for even bigger damage. While I doubt such a thing would *ever* be implemented, that is the kind of expectation I have for AM2's design decisions; batshit, interesting, and different from the way everyone else does things, but not without very good reason.
I hope the backgrounds are like vf3 but more interactive. Like fighting in a bar and you can interact with the tables or crowd and you can break through the front or back door and fight in the street or alley. So many cool stuff they could do. The wrestlers could fight in an actual wrestling ring and interact with the ropes and turnbuckle and maybe fight in the backstage area of the arena. I hope the characters show more personality too like showing torn clothes and bruised bodies and being more talkative. I have high hopes for this game.

My favourite part of Virtua Fighter eSports at EVO 2027 is when Akira used his Virtua Meter to perform a Virtua Low into a 45 second long super that gives him plus frames right after, allowing him to use his Virtua Dash into a Virtua Mid to take the round. Good to see you upload again, Sleepmode 🔥

the main reason so many climax heroes games feature the ryuki cast is because they were literally built off of this game's engine.
Both honors the legacy by featuring all 13 riders, and as a cheap way to bloat the roster with reused assets. If only Climax Fighters kept the same formula as Climax Heroes, could've helped that games roster a huge ton.
