The pirates, he’s Captain Silvo To the kids he’s Jod Nanawood, a name that sounds fake even by Star Wars standards To Kim, he’s Crimson Jack - a deep cut from the Expanded Universe. In very old comics, there was a pirate by this name with a red coat who was Han Solo’s enemy. He plays into Wym’s Jedi fascination until he’s called out I think the mystery is the charm of Jude Law’s character. He’s clearly full of BS, but he did rescue SM33, feed the kids, put them to bed, and help them find a way home. There’s probably another layer coming

Good morning Nythical, just some info for you, his actual name is Jod and yes he is also Captain Silvo. There are lots of theories of who he is, mine is that he was either a padawan and his master was killed during order 66 or he got kicked out of jedi school. You are truly Nythical's Light great way to start my day:)

I hated it when it first came out. It's out of character with the series, the explanation of the reavers makes no sense (they *can't* be the insane creatures they're made out to be -- they have a space-faring high-industrial society. They're for sure "Scooby-Doo" style bad-guys, that have the mask ripped off in the end and turn out to be regular people with some nefarious plan they're trying to hide behind all the haunted house hooey), and nor does making River psychic (even in the movie, she imagines "ghosts" on Miranda: she's not reading anybody's mind, they're all long dead). I don't know what would have happened had the series continued (but maybe it would have been like Game of Thrones: started well, looked great for a while, and then ended so badly that a lot of people just pretended they'd never even heard of it)

Rather than slowburn Its actually faster that any other romance anime I've watched hahaha And I love it that way ❤

Reavers are a bit much. They use them effectively, but I can't imagine Joss Whedon pitching that idea. It's like, "We've got these scrappy rebels against a fascist space government!" Cool! What else? "One of the rebels has enigmatic mental powers and is a genius, but she's also crazy!" GREAT! What else?! "We've got these things that are like zombies, but they also rape and torture you!" AWES- wait, what? Um... Joss? Is... uh... is there anything we should know about you?

Learning what "I am a leaf on the wind" means is a right of passage for Browncoats, I almost think of it as trauma bonding and whenever I watch a reactor get to that point in Serenity I internally start doing the "one of us, one of us" chant. A couple suggestions for future reactions are: Dr. Horrible's Sing-A-Long Blog, it's another Joss Wheedon project that stars Neil Patrick Harris as an aspiring supervilian, Nathan Fillion as his nemesis Captain Hammer, and Felicia Day as Dr. Horrible's crush Penny. Battlestar Galactica (2003 version), one of the best TV dramas disguised as SciFi you'll ever see. It starts with a Miniseries and in addition to the 4 seasons of the show there are two movies, 3 sets of web series, and a spin off prequil called Caprica.

You don't need fan fic. There's official comics/graphic novels that continue the story and fill in gaps. From the same writing team for the most part, I believe.

Something really cool that another fan on a react video pointed out that I never noticed, but the whole River being psychic thing. At the end of the movie she's nearby to Zoe as she is doing repairs, and Zoe is acting all stoic --- and meanwhile River is crying, picking up on Zoe shoving her feelings down.

Fantastic. As others have said, you're officially one of us now -- eternally in love with the best show of all time, eternally bummed that they didn't get to take it further. For what it's worth, there are plenty of comics and novels that expand the story, including official versions of what comes next after this, AND the Shepherd's backstory! And, as you guessed, PLENTY of fan fic, lol. I'm so excited for you to start Buffy!! It's absolutely one of the very best shows of all time, right up there with Firefly.
