      thank you!.. well.. in breath holding the less you move the more you can hold your breath because you consume less oxygen. my longes breath hold in static discipline (not moving) is 5:40 min

    Thank you Tania for sharing this. It's not the success that you learn from, rather when things don't exaclty go as planned. 140 m is still a very long distance, especially in a 50 m pool. From what I can see, your dive time was almost 3:30, which is rather much for 140 m. On average, it's 37,5 s per 25 m, or 1:15 per 50 m. Usually most people want to aim for ~30 s per 25 m (maybe a little slower when in a 50 m pool). Of course this is not necessarily the aim for everyone, but that was just something I thought was worth mentioning. Looking forward to seing your continued progess Tania! :D

      Thanks for this info!! Yes. I am quite a slow diver but this one was definitely my slowest😅 this is what I am gonna focus on for next season. And also I was so nervous I didn’t pack enough and my buoyancy wasn’t right. So many things to work on. I had never done such a long dive so knowing it was nearly 3:30 I understand why……. 😄 I am happy though because I can learn so much from this! Can’t wait for next peaking period!! I wish you the very best for the world champs!! I will be watching!!!🧡☺️

      @@taniaapnea the slower you swim, the less energy you expend which actually allows your dive time to be longer. You probably could’ve stayed underwater longer holding your breath for over 4 minutes just by swimming slower. Also, try to work on lengthening your static underwater bottom time. If you can do a 6 minute static, that will help your 4 minute DNF

      @@markfox9034 Hey Mark! thanks for advices! I think that I agree with Paulaunderpressure that I was already diving quite slow for a DNF 50 m pool. I really like to dive slowly (I tend to do that automatically) so I think that the best I can do is work on hypoxia this year, as you say, STA training (which is not easy for me I get contractions quite early and is not easy for me to reach 6 minutes yet).. and keep working on technique to be able to go a bit faster but more efficient. I was not properly weighted either in this dive.. i didnt pack enough, which affected my buoyancy as you can see during the video..

    When do I stop training for co2 training in the event of a competition

    • @taniaapnea
      @taniaapnea ปีที่แล้ว

      I am not very experienced, but I think that at least one month before you could start deloading and doing longer dives (less volume). Co2 training is more for base training (months before) and to get the body used to co2, but as comp starts to approach you need your energy and to be full rested, so stoop co2 training and maintain it with those longer dives (more like peaking phase). stop gym last week and sleep really well. :)
