Berries and Sweet Cream | Easy No Bake Dessert
Berries and Sweet Cream is an easy no bake dessert that’s luxurious but can be eaten at a dinner party or packed in a cooler for camping. I’ve never met anyone who didn’t like it.
Resist the urge to garnish! It does not need anything!
10 Egg Yolks
1 C Sugar (divided)
2 tsp Vanilla
2 C Heavy Whipping Cream
4 C bit sized fruit of your choice
Separate yolks from whites and put into bowl. Whisk in half of sugar and vanilla. Set aside.
Heat Cream and rest of Sugar on stove and bring to simmer. Heat egg mixture on double boiler stirring constantly until at a low simmer. Slowly spoon in cream while you are stirring by letting it run down the side of the bowl. Stir constantly, slowly for about 10 minutes until it starts to thicken. Place in container to chill in fridge for about 3-4 hrs.
Coat fruit of your choice in cream, serve in your selected bowl, and top with more cream!

    Have you tried tea leaf salad from other Burmese restaurants? I assume a lot of people love Burma Superstar, but man you've got to try the authentic version of the salad. Replace the romain lettuce with white cabbage, and jalapenos with bird's eye chilis. You should be able to find both ingredients at Asian or Thai supermarkets/groceries. Sunflower seeds aren't commonly included in the salad so I suggest removing it for the authentic version. Having said all this, it's a salad so modify it however you like after trying out the different versions. Embrace the fish sauce ❤❤❤

    If you want to lean to more authenticity , try skipping the radishes. We use them but not like that. We slice them and have typically them on the side. Some soups you can add it as well. Think of them like fresh veggie chips. Also cook the vegetables that will be used for the salsa. There’s 3 ways I know. Boil , char roasted , or microwave. For the char , you can leave it or remove it. To remove , place in a bag to steam itself after roasting. Then peel off the char. For microwave, I actually haven’t done it myself but my father microwaves them in a grocery bag and they steam themselves. Idk how long or if you need to poke them before but it’s a quick hack. Also just like sandwiches with bread , the tortilla will change everything. So make sure it is of the highest quality and authenticity. Not sure where you’re from but look for “ carnecerías “ they might have some flour tortillas. Sonora and Sinaloa make really good flour tortillas. You want them to be from those states. Other states are Alr. The reason why Sonora and Sinaloa are so good is they tend to add more lard or vegetable oil. They’re also thinner in some cases. Like “ sobaqueras “ a sonora favorite. It’s a large tortilla around 14 to 18 inches large , it’s super thin and just amazing. But they’re only found usually in small towns in Sonora. Chihuahua makes thicker tortillas and they use baking powder which we consider a crime here in sonora. It’s too puffy. They’re like the better “ Mission “ style tortillas. Not the best. If you want to make them yourself though good luck. It takes years to prefect. You need the perfect water temperature , the temperature of the air can also affect it. You gotta know how to move your hands too. If you can provide me with your city name , I can look for a place that caters better tortillas for you. Also for the carne asada. Use flank or skirt. A very basic recipe for a good carne asada will be salt garlic and black pepper. Make sure to use mesquite. People of Sonora and Sinaloa use mesquite. Especially Sonora. We don’t use anything else. I’m not degrading all other states by the way. They all are very skilled with food. But obviously each has its strengths. And tacos burritos and tortillas are Sonora and Sinaloa’s strengths. Anyways give it a decent char without overcooking. Now that you’re done , you need to learn how to roll a burrito because I’ve seen tutorials by chipotle workers and it’s all bull shit. You can’t load a burrito from the middle. To load a burrito start with the side closest to you. If you’re going to eat it now , than don’t fold each end. Only fold one end , tuck then roll, this will not only leave room for more food but it’ll also remove that annoying fat tortilla piece from the first bite. If you’re gonna eat it later , then you can fold both ends and tuck and roll. It’s a very basic recipe that you can’t fail. Hope this helps. ! If you got any questions let me know !

      Thanks for all this- love learning! This was just a burrito version of a burger I like from a local joint- I’m definitely not making any claims to authenticity- I just love pickled radishes!! I’m just a dad in my own kitchen messing around

    Is there a substitute for the orange juice? Or can I just omit it?

    • @Bexarcookjoel
      @Bexarcookjoel ปีที่แล้ว

      The citrus is to help tenderize so you could use more lime or lemon juice (or a combo) , just don’t omit without adding more

    We gave a place near where I live that does an Italian sub they are famous for. It's a long sub bun gas salami ham and cheese, puts it in an oven open so meat will cook, and when it's toasted he put on a vinaigrette slaw and it's delicious.
