มุมมอง 448 หลายเดือนก่อน
This was filmed way back in 1993. By good fortune a work friend told me about this 1916 Titan tractor having just been fully restored by Paul. Arrangements were made and this film was made, an archive record of an interesting American product.
ISRAEL NEWTONS - CELEBRATING 200 YEARS OF ENGINEERING
มุมมอง 649 หลายเดือนก่อน
September 21st 2003 was a fine late summer Sunday and I was privileged to be invited to record a "steam party" at Israel Newton's works in Idle, Bradford to commemorate 200 years of engineering by the company. Later, with the kind co-operation of owner Gordon Newton, I developed the film into a documentary which now is a historical record of this family business.
STEAM, STEEPLEJACK AND A BLUNGER
มุมมอง 7011 หลายเดือนก่อน
In September 1995 I received permission from Fred Dibnah and Mr Dodd of Wetheriggs Country Pottery to film the Grand Steam Opening of the pottery's steam plant. I was the only cameraman there to record the event and now I publish my short film in remembrance of Fred who passed away on the 6th November 2004.
LIFEBOAT!
มุมมอง 31011 หลายเดือนก่อน
This 1999 film includes a Whitby to Robin Hood's Bay lifeboat tow and a visit to Scarborough, Filey and Flamborough RNLI stations. It was the most demanding of my early films but I was able to use it to raise funds for the RNLI.

I never saw one n London. Would have been five when they were withdrawn but I don’t think there were any near where I lived. The only place I ever rode on one was in Moscow, in 1974.
Every time I see a video of a diesel gala I now understand just how important is the diesel preservation is akin to steam preservation 🤯
Just clicked why folk were calling the class 50 ‘Dave’ when it is really called ‘Rodney’! It’s the “Trigger” connection! Doh! Sorry I missed the Western!
One for the vintage plane enthusiasts, so that'll be me then. 😁
That was a cracking flight & great moustache you had back then 🧐
Nice one Greg, but of course I was not the pilot. Indeed I am behind the camera and by the trick of film making I was not the passenger who alighted at the end of the flight. You know how these things work as a former film maker. Thanks for the comment anyway.
Remember helping make this video with a great friend a few years back now, awsome.
Crikey Moses!!!!!! That’s a bit different!!!
Nice one, as usual! I read that Leeds Council as a cost cutting measure are to relinquish the lease and it may close unless the Canals and River people can come up with a plan themselves! Cracking film though but!
My film will preserve memories of the working mill, which was my intention. Thanks for your comments.
The weather looks a lot nicer than it actually was!!!!!
I agree with that!
@@davidmyers9810 I have just been into the garden to water the pot plants, we have had no rain for at least two hours!
Lancia Esagamma Dalfa (Oporto)
Bei uns im Aachen. Deutschland hat es auch solche E Busse. Gegeben
That’s a right looking machine!
When you see your mum and me in a video happy as Red gansy washing the lifeboat down And little old me
Forget Buckingham Palace, Windsor Castle, the Tower of London. All that "royal" stuff! If I'm going to take a trip to the U.K., this trolleybus museum is what I'd visit first (It broke my heart as a teenager when Chicago discontinued commercial use of electric trolleybuses on March 31, 1973). Thanks for sharing!
I ring here! It’s certainly an interesting video especially to me as I know jeff quite well. He’s not aged a lot! But this is a great video
Thank you David, what a lovely video of a now lost but never forgotten boiler works between Leeds and Bradford.
💘 "promosm"
I have 150scale models trolly buses When l tell Them they were electric they are Shocked and say what happened to them
My hometownofsalzburgis still using articulatedand single cartrolly bussesthe articulazedareknown as"bendy busses"!!!!!!!!!!
I cant wait to visitsantoft orthecollection held in the lt museumm in south acton.london
I remembertravelling as a childonroute445 in north londonout of north finchley bus an d tram depot
Great video. Lovely to hear the sound of the overhead wiring.
Nice to see, surprised it had some brown at first and lost it. 👍
I was on that last Bradford trolley bus as a teenager, a sad day indeed for public transport in the city.
Edward in real life!
What a lovely looking duck! We visit there often, never seen one of those. Hold the fried rice though! Good film!
I need to return there one time, 1963 was the last visit! Good film!
Didn’t know that so many steam boats were still around! Good film!
Thank you, David. Good to see you again.
Thumbs up David.Did they have a heater? Cheers.
So far as I know they did have electric heaters in the later buses. If you contact the Trolleybus Museum they will confirm this. They have a web site.
Those 3 axle double deckers are so stylish. I can ‘just’ remember yellow ones in Newcastle
I saw a MG roadster that had been completely rebuilt using the shell & parts from I believe this company & it looked & smelt like a brand new car only it was some 58 years old a beautiful black body with a red interior stunning
That’s one I missed! Glad you posted this clip! Cheers!
Absolutely wonder I’m going be taking my elderly friend there who used to be a conductor on a trolley bus thank you 🚎
Fascinates me how this worked in busy cities??!
Love those buses….thank you a million
Another classic video! Great stuff, cheers!
Must have been taken over by West Yorkshire and thus became part of the NBC.I think that I only did West Yorkshire twice;Leeds to Barnsley which I'd guess was a joint service with West Riding or Yorkshire Traction and the 36(I think that was the number) between Leeds and Ripon and was a joint service with United.
Nice video; only just discovered it. MXX232 was RLH 32 of London Transport originally. I used to go to school on it in Woking, Surrey, regularly. Later, in its early years of preservation and painted red at that time, I went on an amazing trip with it to the Netherlands for an event known as the Tulip Rally, where a dozen British buses spent a long weekend in the Amsterdam area.
I've see a Porto trolleybus (Porto, Portugal was the last city with double deck trolleyebuses) and a Soligen one (the one with an upper deck only in the rear side).
I can just about remember travelling on London Trolleybuses as a small boy to visit an aunt who lived in Earlsfield. It was the 630 that ran from West Croydon to Harlesdon.
Great video David and somewhere I have still to visit. My favorites are the tandems, I must admit.
Hi Greg. Yes it is a very good museum. Obviously it is a while since my visit but I assume it is still open.
Can a bus be beautiful? Well these things certainly are.
What a whistle on 6619! I saw that on the M62 on Windy Hill one time. Don’t think it saw me…..A lovely video, thanks for posting.
A great hour of steam there and wonderful to watch these magnificent pieces of engineering.
💚💙💜💛
THANK YOU FOR VIDEO USED IN AUSTRALIA IN STATE SERVICE HERE FOR SHORT TIME
where the fu-k do you think the electric comes from COAL ,,, zero emission means that all man-made greenhouse gas emissions ,,, not coal or nuclear power used so not the buses or e.v`s
they knew what the future holds but we didn't keep up with the times as usual
