There are equal reasons Not to buy EV . They are not the future as we are being told. There is a place for EV but not as a complete change over . We need IC cars as well as not everone can run an EV for various reasone. If our Government doesnt change tack then thousands of people will be out of work and our car factories will all go abroad leaving the UK car markets in the dark ages. Then there is the insurance issuse and probably parking issues in multistorey or covered car parks due to fire risk. Dont forget they dont just catch fire thet virtually explode burning everthing within meters . Be honest , tell the truth warts and all instead of painting a rosy picture of EV ownership.

Not worth it - build quality is shocking. I had a the e class coupe which is a step above this one and looked lovely with the double widescreen. Much more car for a little more money but creaks and rattles everywhere!!! Was very annoying

You have to be crazy to buy or lease an electric car. As more and more insurance companies are refusing cover if you keep your ev in a garage close to your house. The insurance cover will soon be topping £5000 and may even end in the next two years as more and more evs are developing faults in the high voltage circuits whilst rapid charging. Car parking companies are bringing in bans for evs as the insurance for multi storey car parks is becoming unaffordable. It amazes me people like this chap, even though he’s getting paid for advertising evs really still believes these death traps are worth parking down the road from your house because of strict insurance regulations that forbid garage parking. Utter madness.

Recently bought a 2017 sportage with 16k milage 1.6 petrol. Really please until we had an acceleration problem where it roared away as though the pedal had been stamped on, when it definitely hadn't. I pressed the brake and cluch put it in neutral and pulled over with the engin still roaring away and with the handbrake on and my feet on no pedals and it still roaring I turned off the ignition. After sitting there for a minute trying to work out what had just happened i started the car and carefully set off again. Ive been driving for a week since with no problems but as you can easily imagine very wary pulling up to junctions etc. I have since discovered sportages have a problem with the electronic accelerator box found under the pedal( they dont have a throttle cable like most cars)

Terrible cars to be avoided. I had a c class & worst car mechanically I’ve ever owned. Bought from & serviced there yet still warning lights flashing like an 80’s disco on the dashboard. Had to scrap it at 60k miles. Had Toyotas ever since and never skipped a beat.
