My mom worked a full time job. On Sunday she would spend the day cooking different meals and we would eat them during the week. There wasn't any fast food restaurants and going out to dinner was something we couldn't afford.

None of these dishes have gone away it's just that people don't have time to make some of these dishes. Most Mothers work now and don't have the time to shop prepare and then cook. Not to many stay at home Moms today.

Im in the UK, and i still do a Sunday roast with roast potatoes and parsnips , carrots peas, stuffing and home made gravy. i have the left overs on monday like a stew , and tuesday i make chicken curry and rice and wed soup broth from the carcass. one Chicken and veg can go a long way.

A bottle of Old Spice is sitting in my bathroom right now! I remember all these, Noxzema was good on sunburns too.

My mom called tinsel "rain". She would put each piece on one at a time. We always went up to the mountain and cut a live tree, I still have mom's ornaments she bought in the 50's when she and dad were newlyweds. Christmas is bittersweet now that mom and dad are gone.

I never got the hang of this craft. My plant hangers were always crooked!

I swear by Fels Naptha for stains. I remember my mother using bluing in her rinse water when she had a ringer washer. I played in it with my Barbie doll. She was swimming in her pool!

I remember going caroling door to door in my neighborhood Kansas City 1964

Nostalgi: I remember those tiny little candles on christmas tree - they cost 3 crowns/ packet. They still sell them for 74 crowns. Not many families could celebrate christmas more than 2 hours today.

I went to the USA in the 70's and could not believe that I could buy huge tubs of Noxema. In the UK the maximum I could get was 50ml. I bought two giant tubs, one for me and one for my friend. We used it to fend off pimples and to clean off foundation. Yhe smell made you believe your spots would clear up overnight.

Colored Kleenex, Bonnie Bell, Clearasil, Kotex, Tampax, Excedrin. Sanka instant coffee.

I remember my Dad wearing Old Spice he also used Brycream loved these smells, also had California Poppy too! Yes mum had Dippidy do too...yes still use Mum Deodorant! I used Ponds cream in my teens too lol 😆 thankyou for these wonderful memories ❤🎉

Duz was soap. That was the big difference. You read how detergents were destroying our lakes and streams. Then Rachel Carson wrote her book Called Silent Spring!

I still use noxzema to this day. I started using it in the 80s.

I miss LaFrance the bluing agent to make clothes whiter. 20 mule team was good too. You didn't mention fels anapa soap. I still buy and use it but it's not as good as it was back in the day.

You forgot to mention Prell shampoo with the pearl in the bottle and Stop-it deodorant. Those were great products back in the day. I used the green dippity do and aqua net.
