MoPar Manifold Heat Control Valve Solvent
มุมมอง 8K10 ปีที่แล้ว
The old Service Manuals mention the heat control valve should be inspected and lubricated with Manifold Heat Control Solvent 1879318 - But that name and part number is obsolete - The correct name and part number is: Rust Penetrant #04318039AC Keep those "Butterflies" clean from carbon buildup to prevent sticking - which can cause lots of problems if stuck closed. You can ruin your carburetor, c...

Engine De-greasing with Holy Cow
มุมมอง 27910 ปีที่แล้ว
I have been using this product for years - I do not get paid for showing you this or any kick backs what so ever - I just wanted to share how well it works on cleaning the grease on an engine - It also cleans great in the kitchen or on nicotine. I buy it at Ace Hardware. The gallon is a better price for the quantity. DO NOT BY THE PINK HOLY COW DE-GREASER - IT DOES NOT WORK AS WELL
Mopar Showdown Valiants 1963 1964
มุมมอง 7K10 ปีที่แล้ว
A few new Valiant friends stopped over for an afternoon of tire kicking, story sharing and a bite to eat while watching TH-cam videos of 1963 & 1964 Valiant's uploaded by many of you Valiant owners! We talked Valiant's all day, it was a blast. It's always good to learn from others and know what parts to keep an eye out for that we all need.

Valiant Barracuda Dart Push Button Bulb Replacement Real Time

Valiant Barracuda Dart Push Button Bulb Replacement Real Time
Nice explanation. California issued month stickers for the first time in 1976. Your plate would never have had a month sticker on it in 1964. Cars I've seen place just the 1964 sticker on the plate and use the two ears for both the month and current year registration stickers.
I think the 1964 sticker was supposed to go in the left side well where he put the month sticker.
Mopar old school for life 👍🏻🇦🇺✌️.

tengo uno magnifico carro
After seeing this video, I am guessing that maybe the cruise control addition from another Chrysler product might give someone else the idea to do so. I know in the 1980's companies like JC Whitney sold a cruise control kit. I installed one on my dad's dodge omni with and automatic trans. The station wagon in this video may be long gone, but it looks as if the electronic ignition box may have over heated one time and melted the epoxy that sealed the electronics. I have seen that happen on other cars. Not sure why it happens.
otimo veiculo nao da mecanica conforavel espaçoso bonito charmoso os antigos sao os melhores
The second field wire already came pre grounded? Or did you have to remove the insulating washer behind it
It's technically against the California vehicle code to restore license plates
Necesito un parabrisas delantero de Plymouth Saboy 54
got mine at bullet motor sports Musiium...273 eng..restored it
thanks for posting! I have a '63 Dart with the push button, and havent replaced the bulb because it was more of a hassle to get to. Now I know how! thanks!
What paperwork did the dmv personal end up asking you to register the plates?
Excellent video, great shot angle and voice volume. The little nub on the right side of valve is for a hairspring that attaches to the valve shaft to give it a little friction and stop it from rattling when its doing its thing.
Thanks for making the video.
Very helpful thank you
I bought some 80s Olympic custom plates at the swap meet I’m in California- I have no info on the previous car or vin they are tied to. Can anyone give me advise on how to get them linked to my car
The car surprisingly is devoid of rust. How many Valiants can you say that about?
Nice 61!
Hello, you tube is so handy..just wondering what you have your timing set at for a daily driver I’m presuming? Just got mine back from the shop and it’s set a top dead center but I know that’s not right, thought you may have figured out what works best. Thanks
Alternators turn at 2.5 times faster than the engine because of pulley size and still only charge at 40% of their rated value. It always good to have a bigger alternator than what generally comes stock especially if you’ve added more load ie off road lights, radios, boom boxes etc. I put a 140 amp Cadillac alternator on my Toyota 4Runner (stock was 60 amp) when your talking batteries and alternators, more is better! th-cam.com/video/3xavPSmNOeQ/w-d-xo.html
"..more is better!" To a point. Over a 100% increase in alternator output capacity without a corresponding increase in cabling size is a recipe for disaster.
@Vince Majestyk good observation, my stock toyota alternator output wire to the battery has a 100 Amp inline fuse so that was abandoned. In place of that I now have a 6 Guage wire. As well I've relocated my small stock battery to the rear now using an H8 size huge battery to run my many accessories including an electric air pump. Wire going aft is welding cable.
Still had the same cruise control pod on my 1987 Dodge D150
Good vid. I have a couple of CA YOM plates on cars. Well done video and I learned from your dish soap trick (thank you). On one of the YOM visits to the DMV, they asked for the current plates on the car (meaning the ones I was replacing). This is something you may have to have with you. This was not a consistent requirement from the DMV (I know... the shock!), but you should be prepared to either have them or have a story as to why you don't have them to see if they will let it slide. Again, thanks for the video.
Beautiful car.👌🏻👍🏻🇺🇸
'51 Deluxe here with a 235 engine. Going to buy some of this stuff. I think our shop manuals mention kerosene and graphite powder or something. People loved kerosene in the 50s, including mixing it into engine oil to thin it for colder temperatures.
I want to buy the white valiant! I'm in San Diego!
Thanks for posting this. I was trying to figure out why slots 6 & 7 were empty in my engine compartment wiring harness.. duh.. it's because with the pushbutton, the switch is located under the dash, not on the transmission like it would be with a manual transmission.
I never would have found that button on the back of the light knob. I just Got a 1964 Valiant signet 200 and I can't see anything at night. where can I get the special tool with the 4 prongs to remove the wipers and Light Knobs? Thank you !
I used to live in .CA and always Lived the old 50's, 60's and 70's colored plates and am glad the brought those choices back a couple years ago as Vanity ones.
Thanks. Working on my 64 Barracuda and every little bit helps in making the job a bit easier.
Why do you have to create a field and then connect it to the front of the alternator?
The connection he made is to provide a ground for the field circuit of his high amp alternator. The original alternator used a grounded field scheme (look up "B circuit" for alternators and generators), which had a single field terminal that connected to the voltage regulator. However, in later years Chrysler also used a "floating field" scheme that had both field connections brought out of the alternator to connect to the vehicle's wiring. So to make this alternator work with the original charging system on this car it is necessary to ground one of the field terminals to emulate the field scheme of the original alternator.
@@Inflecthank a lot for youre explanation. Can the original wires handle the 60amp alternator? (Getting hot) Or do you need to adjust them and switch to other fusible links.
@@jornveen9063 - That depends. If no other additions are being made to the electrical system, ex. high power sound system, aftermarket A/C system, etc the original wiring _might_ be alright with a 60 amp alternator. Otherwise beefing up this wiring would be mandatory.
I had a 1965 Honda S600 with CA black plates. I scraped off all my year stickers down to the original and put my New yearly sticker on a rubber magnet. So when I went to car shows i took off the current to show the original.
I moved to Oregon 3 years ago, much easier up here. You only need 1 Oregon YOM plate and you only pay one fee for life of the vehicle. If you bring a vehicle in out of state it's $250 but only once, never pay registration again.
why would anyone do YOM program with black plates, when you can skip the hoops and just order black plates brand new from the DMV??
sweet car. not nuts about the wheel covers. Not interested in the rear bumper spears?
Awesome car
Thanks man just got my 63 n wanna work on it myself
Actually looks almost factory and great practice for the real top. I have a 1964 Valiant Convertible, which came with no top. After sitting years in my garage, finally getting around to it. Fixing the top frame (repaint, broken bow). I'll try to do it myself, probably a canvas top. Like you, I'd rather mess up myself than deal with screw-ups by a "pro".
Sometimes when you don’t know what you’re doing it’s better that way. I had no idea what I was doing and it all worked out really well until I replaced the top in Spring. I decided to have an auto upholstery shop replace it for me, which was worth it to make sure it was done right.
Oh yeah real quick do you know where I can find the led bulbs? And what size ?
Is this account still active, I would be grateful if we could talk! Let me know if you have an email or social media account
Still here. His truck is still sitting also.
64valiantsteed thank god! I have a ‘64 Valiant and have learned a whole bunch watching your videos about them , It’s really rare they ever get posted here on TH-cam
Nick Mopar thanks - I have been busy with life and got on FB - found groups are great for info. Check out the group you can find me: Plymouth Valiant Fans
64valiantsteed that sounds pretty good! I use Facebook very little but I will be sure to join, I am also @nick_mopar on Instagram 👍🏻
Thank you for doing this, this saved me a ton of time trying to figure out where all these set screws are! I never would have found that damn button on the back of the light knob.
So, did u replace them from underneath or did u pull the meters to install them?
Robert Dier The other bulbs behind the Dash you can reach under and twist out the bulb housing and I did replace those bulbs behind the dash with the same LED bulbs as well, but that was not my focus of this video.
It helped a ton! great job. Glad I found this video, it'll work for my Dart. The bulbs was a bonus for me.. and the tool. It's normal to curse or throw your tools when something doesn't go our way. lol... I enjoyed this video. It had a good pace. Thank you even tho this video is old, our Mopars are timeless.
How are those water heaters still legal? Open flue gas appliances have been banned for years in Europe. You would never be allowed to rent out a property with one installed, they are potentially deadly under fault. They are also incredibly inefficient.
Needs a 1930s style refrigerator. Original or replica .
Are these switches easily available? I picked up a used harness and removed the wiring and sockets for the rears. I looked the see if I had the switch installed and I don't unfortunately
How do you get the door panels off
Do you know what connects to the 2 wires, I have the switch but no wires hooked to the switch
Also - would like to email with valiantsteed & pick your brain. can you IM me on facebook?
Good information. Mine was seized (65 dodge dart - recently acquired) fully counterclockwise. Was able to free it up. Plan to replace the exhaust manifold in the future. For now, is it best to leave it fully counter clock wise? That's where I found it. I can move it but it's stiff as heck & won't respond to the spring.
CCW is the normal hot running position, this diverts the exhaust down the manifold.
