Just an update. I found the problem and it was the capstan motor turning the wrong way so it was pulling the tape the opposite way to the supply and take up real! I fitted a new motor and it’s all working perfectly again.
@@Sierra747 I've found that the main issue with these (in working on one now) is the mode selection system. There is a rotational switch inside the transport, which sits on top of the largest grey wheel. That's the mode select switch. They get corroded over time and can cause issues. If all of your wheels are visibly good, and it's built up correctly as per the service sheet the. That's really all it can be. Your open and close, and tape type switches are fine as the mech is attempting to run a tape.

I've had the same problem with this amplifier, it started to loose power from one year to another.. Have you fixed this ?
No I didn’t fix it. It was an amp I bought off eBay which I sent back and the seller gave me a refund. Shame as it looked a really nice amp.

No it still does it years later when the engine is hot but the engine is still running perfectly.

Clean the small mirror's inside the transport and clean the sensors that work with the mirror's.
This is my shoulda but didn't song. Dont even think he is smart enough to know what he lost.

No I didn’t ever get it fixed. I’ve no idea why it stopped working as I only changed the belt with minimal dismantling and it stopped afterwards.
