The Emerging Managers Programme (EMP) is a Business as Missions Project hosted by Heart and Arts Foundation. It is a 6-months management and entrepreneurship based curriculum of teaching, action-learning and mentorship programme for start-ups, current and aspiring business owners, entry-level and mid-management professionals seeking to build the capacity to lead businesses as a spiritual calling.

Heart and Art Foundation is a nonprofit organization aimed at raising a generation of resourceful individuals in the African workplace. This vision was conceived and birthed in 2016 by Nelson Okwonna, a Pharmacist and the Managing Director of Octoville Development Company.

From Nelson’s interaction with young professionals, he saw a performance and knowledge gap which was limiting productivity in the workplace. He then decided to step in with the EMP, a free annual course. In the past 5 years, the programme has had an enrolment size of 100 students and has produced over 70 graduates.
