Deep Dip II - GPS To Floor 5 (commentary)
I recorded this video after doing a tutorial for floors 0 and 1 but decided against posting it. Apologies for the chat in the corner and somewhat annoying music, I decided it was better than nothing. Constructive feedback is welcome, thanks!
TIMESTAMPS
0:00 - Floor 0
1:14 - Floor 1
2:05 - Ice Slide (floor 1)
2:49 - Floor 2
4:00 - "Messi" Jump (floor 2)
5:24 - Floor 3
7:30 - Floor 4
8:30 - Quarterpipe Jump (floor 4)
10:00 - Dirt Wallride (floor 4)
THE "MESSI" JUMP
Lots of things work for this jump. The most important important mechanics are as follows.
1. Steer left in the air (after the beam) to stop the car from landing upside down.
2. Steer on the plastic with about 20-50% steering to get a nose down after the jump. You will want to steer left if you use my line. This is because landing on the plastic with the left side of your car first will steer the car to the right, so you have to re-adjust to the left.
If you use my line, you will want to line up with your right tires near the black line, like in the video. Then, point your car at the left side of the hole you are aiming for, or at the first pole next to the hole.

Looks good, will try later
Started playing TM only during the Deep Dip 2 hype, and thanks to the version with many checkpoints i actually made it to this slide. But not even close to making that jump at the end of the slide. Guess i'ts time to learn some ice slide basics before getting frustrated here any more 😀
Ice sliding is really tough, but fun when you get the hang of it! I definitely agree that learning the more complex mechanics of the game (like ice sliding and turtling) are best done outside of Deep Dip 2. It's also worth noting that the official training maps are not the best quality either, I would recommend finding some easy community maps to practice on, or looking for an ice training campaign.
Thanks for the advice, i will check for ice training maps and campaigns. Watched some tutorials to get a basic idea, but i guess that won't save me from the grind.
@@toju8525 No problem, thanks for the comment! If you did want one more option, you can practice ice sliding in the outer scenery of the map as well. And as a final note, ice performs differently if your tires are wet at the same time. There are some places on the map this can happen, most notably floor 3 but it's also possible at the start of floor 1 if you aren't careful. Good luck on your ice sliding!
Great tips
Not sure how good they are tbh, but thanks!
They're pretty good, it's really nice that they are short and easy to understand
Again great chatting
You're chatting everywhere lol

it would be a good tutorial if you actually showed how to make it but unfortunately you do everythjing fucking else
Thanks for the feedback! I showed the jump at 3:30-3:43 in the video which admittedly should have been at the beginning. If you have more specific suggestions, please let me know.
