Restoring An Old Air Compressor
We took an old compressor and turned it into this gem. Twin 3hp pump and motors delivering 21 CFM on a 120 gallon tank. With that much capacity we should be in business for a long time to come. Here is the parts list as well!

DIY Metal Lathe (Under $500) Powell Fab Style. Scraps come in handy on this project.
มุมมอง 45K2 ปีที่แล้ว
We built a 8x20 ish lathe for under $500. We took a motor out a scrap pile, I-beam left off a job site, scrap pieces of plate and slapped together this super handy little lathe that any little shop would benefit with. We literally rummaged though every scrap pile we could, metal, electrical and hardware. We tossed around the idea of buying a big lathe but didn't have a good way of making it pay...

This is why y'all didn't get a video last week. We were too busy trying to relearn half the alphabet and needless to say, it wasn't easy. It was a one week project crammed into two but the end result sure was worth it. @lincolnelectrictv @shopsabre @primeweld7931 Prime weld mig 180

Rack for some 30's Ford Model A's
มุมมอง 3172 ปีที่แล้ว
Tag along with us while we make the final resting place for these 1930's Model A's. These 2 cars were passed down threw my family. My grandpa had a major itch for old cars. It rolled down threw the generations for sure. Maybe someday we will be doing some restoration videos of them. The dodge that is in the video is a 1946 I believe the ton and a half, as mentioned it will be the new welding tr...
DIY Welding table using a Shop Sabre CNC (Maker Table Files)
มุมมอง 9K2 ปีที่แล้ว
This is the longest cut time project on our Shop Sabre CNC so far, and we're hoping it increases our capability and generally makes the work more enjoyable. After all, the only thing better than a good tool is a good tool you built! Files were purchased through Maker table and we couldn't be more impressed with these files. Super easy to load into any cad program and assembly was a breeze. @Mak...

A local lumber yard (you try saying it) reached out for a rack to load concrete wire mesh on for transportation. We think this new rack is going to be way handier than the old I beam they had been lugging around. Thanks to Garner Building supply for reaching out. We appreciate the work! How thick is the table top?
1/4"
Great job!!
Is there a way to get this file I would love to make this table out of 1/2 inch I have a 6x12 table with the Hypertherm 85sync
Yes you can buy them directly off of Maker tables website. only issue with plasma your holes will be way off.
Why are supports at bottom are cut out in middle? 🤔
If you are meaning the little notch on the bottom it is so you can put a leg plate anywhere you may need.
@@powellfab.3357 not the notch. It is used to slide in the other supports. I'm asking about rectangle cut outs on the face of support.
@@dharmendrasuthar4342 oh for clamping
Your awesome
Great job
Am I missing something? Bunch of comments ranting about stopped because of the flags and such.... What does that have to do with building a lathe? Obsessed much?
@andrewdacunha5695 thank you sir. Said it well. Thanks for watching and Thanks for the positive input!
Excellent
Keep at it boys
Shut it off soon as I saw all the Trump banners ...
Thanks for Commenting!

Cut your bolts to your spec with an angle grinder, install a nut before cutting to fix the thread.
Great, but tool post is the wrong way round...😊
Under $500? Good frame cost more than $500. Do it well or don't do it.
I was interested in watching the video. Until I saw the trump flags.
me too until I saw the fisheye lens
Really? Why is everyone so damn political nowadays? You don't realize it but anyone that has any authority in politics is corrupt and who knows what else, the regular politician is just a lot better at lying to you. Trump can be a big baby at times but he has no filter and says whatever is on his mind. I have a lot more respect for someone that isn't just telling me what they think I wanna hear but I want be voting for either one.
@@alfreddurbyn642 Because Trump wants to end democracy. I cannot support anyone that supports this. Trump does not just 'have no filter'. He lies every time his lips are moving. He is the ultimate politician.
I like the design of the metal lathe till I saw all the stupid trump flags as disability veteran female that was injured in combat that serves of 18 years as combat nurses and medic that hear shit from male veteran that female don't count as veteran and Trump the big chicken I have ever seen
Good video, stupid music 😊
Que tal !¡ que medida de Sbr usaste?
Do you like Fusion better than Enroute? And if so why?
Fusion just has a lot more capabilities, and with that, it takes a little more time to learn. I like to be able to design a 3d model then break it apart to cut it. Enroute definitely is a good starter software or if you are going to do strictly signs, in my opinion. Fusion is also cheaper, and you get a way better software.
Do you do your toolpathing on Fusion as well?
Sure do, its very simple. @@benjaminbright6826
Bonjour super proget.ou avez vous trouver les poulies qui vont sur l arbre porte mandrin c est pas préciser dans les liens c est quel diamètre merci pour votre reponse😊
We got them off Amazon. Im not exactly sure of sizes. I think the large pulley was 4.5in and small side was 1in. The shaft i believe was 5/8
Just found your channel and Subscribed. Very nice work.
The data plate on the tank has the year of manufacture, looks like 1978.
The effort I've put in to this. Yeah lol. Sitting here watching is hard. Shoot you put in the effort in just making and editing this build. Not to mention the build itself. And probably the very hardest part getting the sucker to load up to TH-cam or download how yall tuber's do it. Lol😊. Not me. Not very computer savvy to begin with. So yeah it's hard work sitting here watching. He he. But really in all seriousness now thanks for talking the time to do these videos. I wish there was more on my end i could do beside comment, like, sub. But as it is here livin rough. Now get me wrong do have roof, windows, vehicle there all used when i got um, Nissan Altima is my sons and ole lady's mistake. Took over payments on it. trans on them junk but that's another story another time. Everything is right at limit of lifespan, or families been handed down (wore out when leaves this family no more handing it down). And finally at limit of being payment behind. Send a payment in and its due again in day or two. Lol. So if i could flip ya little support i would. Only keep watching, commenting, liking. (Ha ha) right now at time typing using WiFi data and calling on my phone lol as it shut off midnight 1st or about 1am on 2nd. Oh well not starving, grandbaby had a good xmas , my kids had good xmas i guess. Well my young adults. 23,19 year olds. time to give dad a break find places of their own. Again. Lol. Yeah so all n all im broke but here. So better than rich n gone. So I can't complain 😮 wait a minute 😁 i believe I did. Opps sorry 😞 about that. Well more than enough rambling on for this year all ready. So I'll let ya get back to making something nice. Not have to read this book. So stay safe keep on keeping on, from ur ole hillbilly buddy
Sorry for bringing this up on an older video but what made you decide to pull the trigger on the Shopsabre CNC? I'm looking at one to start a small fab shop for my "retirement project" and looking at several different machines I've been very impressed with the Shopsabre. There is another company called LDS CNC that I'm also looking at. They would be about 25% less expensive from my research but a much smaller mom and pop shop. They seem to be very well built and well supported (unless the guy retires). I just figured I'd see how you like yours after a year or more now.
No worries at all. I went with a shop sabre mostly because of the tech support. Being new to the CNC game at the time I figured there would be stuff I would need help on. Then once I got the machine and the plug and play being amazing I will never own another machine. Excellent machine no doubt literally less than an 2 hours after it got unloaded off the truck we were cutting parts. The only thing I have changed from what they have sent me is a now use fusion to draft parts and nest. Rather than EnRoute that come with it. Great 2d software for sure but I needed to be able to draft a full part then put it on a sheet. If you have any more questions hit me up on our Facebook page id be glad to answer anything.
Love the flags
I´d recommend to use hgr Rails (atleast type 25 or 30) because they are way more stiffer and will reduce vibrations and smoothen the cutting action ( they are a little bit more expensive though but I think they are worth it , they often get used for extension arms on big machinery)
Is there any way to tell if the rails that you're buying is actually genuine or just cheap junky knockoffs.
@@karansingh1154 hey , visually no , but on aliexpress or amazon u often get the knockoffs (china imported ) but these are often good enough too, I recommend cleaning the roller bearing slides, the name brands that u find on more serious websites will cost u a lot more, but for a hobby machine the chinese guide rails are good enough , for the price of the name brands I would rather buy a real lathe ( in my area I could buy a lot of beautiful german/swiss made lathes but they are big and heavy and I have no workshop where I could savely put it in, but someday I will
What size of shaft did you use for your headstock?
1.5in
Great job 👍
Thank you!
A tailstock an a steady rest would be ahuge help in turning your parts
If you bend a full circle how do you get it off the roller?
We just lift onside up where we can roll it out.
May i have a design and dimention, i want to build 1 too😅
i dont have an actual print for this one but we are working on getting another one designed i can send that to you if youd like
@@powellfab.3357 yes sure, later when you make a new video, you can put a link in the description
@@powellfab.3357 or via email, up to u, I'm okay
Ah Trumper, lost me.
Ohhh noooooo….anyways.
Is the plasma cut quality good enough for accurate holes? How thick is the top?
Yes plasma cut and 1/4
I did the same thing but the steel becomes hardened due to the cooling and getting the holes to 5/8 with a reamer/cutting bit because very difficult to do for us
We had the same problem. We went slow and started getting them but lots of work no doubt
did you use a mag drill?@@richardpowell4884
Good job bro 😊👍
Thank you!
Cool project. Do you have a rough number for what it cost you to build?
We are charging 3000 usd to build them
Which plasma do you use? How many nozzles did you use to cut so many holes?
I use a hypertherm 85 amp. I can get about 2 tables out of one tip about 16 hours of cutting.
I’m leaving for camp tomorrow, I’m going to be on this every day!
What size legs did you use
3" 3/16 wall
What thickness were the supports and top plate? 3/8”?
All out of 1/4"
Greetings from Finland! Nice video, thanks! GO TRUMP!!😃
Thanks friend! I can't say I ever expected someone so far away would care to watch us learning. We sure do appreciate the support!
thumbs up for fu.k biden
Great video, keep killing it with the projects!
Nice lathe. Now get a variable speed motor and get it attached to your lead screw. Buy or make a half nut and attach to your carriage with a lever so it will engage and disengage. You’ll love the auto feed option when u want it and your finish turn will be ten times cleaner
Great job!
Great. 👍👍👍 Wath size is the chuck?
i dig it man. I'm a big fan of repurposing old parts, tools and items, keep it up!👍
Thanks we really appreciate it!
