Chasing An Intense Texas Tornado! (Hawley, Texas Tornado)
On May 2nd, 2024 a localized significant tornado outbreak would occur in parts of Central Texas. This video documents the most intense supercell of the day which was north of Abilene Texas. This supercell would go on to produce giant hail, beautiful structure, and two intense tornadoes one of which would be the infamous Hawley Texas Tornado.

From 11:24 to 11:54 that’s really three tornados in one. Their “engines” are stacked in the meso one atop the other. The higher, outer two are the easiest to see starting at 11:37. Pretty cool. Thanks.

Wonderful video. I'm safely watching from my home in NW Wyoming but an Okie transplant. I would be terrified out there with all those "tails" whipping around. Cudos for your bravery and professionalism.

We have no control over injury, death or loss. However, in the last 20-30 years tornado forecasting has improved significantly, therefore saving more lives. Chasing has played a very important role in this improvement. Part of chasing is the incredible, exciting thrill and pleasure of laying our eyes upon a beautiful, deadly tornado. Sometimes chasers are calm, other times they scream like babies, such as the beginning of this great video!

I was very close to the WI tornado, I believe it was because the event was very sparse and that was really the only severe storm besides the ones in central illinois
it's 2% for each unit of area, cumulatively that's like a 25%, perhaps more
