Building an Epic Treehouse!
I love these kinds of projects with the kids. The lessons they learn from hands on experiences are invaluable!! We took their vision for a treehouse and are making it come to life. They have input every step of the way and are doing a lot of the work themselves.

Major Hurricane Damage to Our Farm | Hurricane Idalia
มุมมอง 104ปีที่แล้ว
Two weeks ago Hurricane Idalia barreled through North Florida. Our area was hit hard! We lost our workshop and barn but thankfully our new house only has minimal damage. It was very scary and we are so thankful that we are safe and all of our animals survived. Please pray for this area of Florida. We are surrounded by farms, ranches and woods and our beautiful area has suffered greatly. Please ...
Farm Equipment | what tractors use most and least
มุมมอง 107ปีที่แล้ว
Tractors, ATVs and UTVs can be useful on a farm but they can also be expensive! What is right for your farm might not be what's best for the next. Our equipment includes a Polaris Ranger, a John Deere 1025R, a John Deere 4020 and a John Deere 210C Backhoe. We discuss what equipment we use most, what we wouldn't want to live without and what we would sell if we needed to. We also talk about what...
Buying beef from a farmer and what goes into raising cows
มุมมอง 308ปีที่แล้ว
We sell beef shares directly to consumers and I get a lot of questions about the process. In this video I answer a lot of those questions. It can be confusing for first time buyers and I hope to bridge that gap so more people buy directly from farmers! Visit our website to read more about raising cows and buying beef: farmandwrench.com/148/raising-cows-for-beef-on-your-small-farm-or-homestead/ ...
Getting our garden ready to plant our fall crops
มุมมอง 55ปีที่แล้ว
Here in North Florida, August and September are the perfect months to get the fall garden going. We are pulling out the weeds and old crops, leaving what is still growing and tilling up a section so we can start fresh. Plus I share some of my favorite gardening tools with you! New to gardening? A very informative episode, cannot believe how lovely the farm is looking and just days before Idalia hit the farm. All the machinery is looking good, decisions decisions. We would all love an endless sum of money, one day maybe !!.

Jade , you kept very composed talking to everyone whilst walking through all the devastation after Idalia hit the farm square on. You live in a great community all willing to help out. The view that i keep thinking of is the boys fort all destroyed with a roof sheet wrapped around a branch up in the tree. Take care .

  • @nicholasvincent1558

We cant believe how much damage the farm took, you, Daniel and our boys were kept safe in your new house thank goodness. You are a very resilient family, thats what you need to be when you are farming, mother nature can throw everything at you so you just get up off the floor, brush yourself off say a few swear words and pick up the pieces and think that there is always someone worse off than you are, unfortunately that was the case with Idalia. As always Jade, you are the one person keeping all the plates spinning. It will be quite a tale to tell to your grandchildren. Onwards and upwards. Love to all.

Wow, the power of nature leaves one speechless and the devastation is heart wrenching. But your uplifting attitude , resilience of hard working farmers, and kind supportive acts of the people from surrounding communities, obviously indicative of your area, can only be a blessing fromGod. Your excellent presentation is a wonderful encouragement.❤🙏👍👍👩‍🌾👨‍🌾

Lets not forget the cost of taking care of the mother cow while she is pregnant and while she is nursing. The cost of fencing upkeep. The cost of keeping a bull to breed the cows. The cost of a dead calf or having a cow not give a calf. Vet bills, trucking bills, diesel bills, real estate taxes...I could go on all day. Price should be 3x

Absolutely! I didn’t cover the bigger picture of owning and caring for an entire herd. You make great points! Many people that aren’t familiar with farming don’t realize how much we put into it every single day. Thank you for your comment!

In my view Milwaukee has better selection and performance in most cases but IR are quality and they work every time you pull the trigger when Milwaukee don’t .. I have mostly Milwaukee love them and hate them my few snap on battery tools are great but Milwaukee is convenient and more options they just have issue

Great info. Did I miss what the consumer final price per pound could range?

    • @FarmWrench
      @FarmWrench ปีที่แล้ว

Price per pound on the hanging weight can vary from state to state. In Florida it’s anywhere from $5-8 or so. If it’s 600lbs hanging then you’re looking at $3000 plus butcher fees which could be in the $500-600 range. Again that will depend where you are as well. You’d take home about 360-400lbs of meat on that size. Hard to talk prices with so many variables and they change so quickly!

Steers and bulls will love that blend. To keep costs down we just feed rolled barley and access to a mineral lick, try to avoid feeding rolled barley to any replacement females as it causes problems with their feet, it can make the hooves grow fast and out of shape. Keep up the good work .
