Basement Tour (December 2024)
Now that everything is essentially unpacked in the new basement, I thought I would give a tour of the basement in its current state, so we could track the progression of it as more work is done and things start to settle in a bit.

Repairing a 1984 Sony Trinitron KV-2670R
มุมมอง 7K7 หลายเดือนก่อน
I picked this TV up from a condo straight out of the '80s a few weeks back. Like Miami Vice '80s! It was awesome. The TV did work for a few minutes when I got it home, but the picture quickly began to distort just before the vertical collapsed. I unplugged it and let it sit for a few weeks until I was ready to make the repair video. At that time, it would no longer get a picture or sound. I cou...
Sony Trinitron Restoration Part 2: Recapping the KV-1201
มุมมอง 2Kปีที่แล้ว
In this video, I start cleaning and recapping the KV-1201. Unfortunately, it doesn’t completely resolve the picture issues. I find out that someone else has previously tampered with the circuit boards and made some uncommon changes. I’ll need to get the schematics before moving forward.
Sony Trinitron Restoration Project Part 1
มุมมอง 1.5Kปีที่แล้ว
I just received a 1969 Sony Trinitron KV-1210U and it needs some attention, so I’m going to embark on journey to completely restore it to like-new condition. Before that though, I’m going to perfect my process on a 1972 Sony Trinitron KV-1201. Follow along!
1982 Panasonic CT-3052 CRT TV
มุมมอง 3.1Kปีที่แล้ว
I recently picked up this 1982 Panasonic CT-3052 from an estate sale. Panasonic was doing interesting things with remote controls at the time, and this beauty has a really cool remote that has a compartment on the front of the tv. In this video, I clean this one up real good and show off just how cool the tv is.

Quick repair of an RCA SJT-100 CED videodisc player that has the videodisc stuck in the machine.
Early Video Store Inventory Lists
มุมมอง 7212 ปีที่แล้ว
I recently bought a Beta collection that had some much cooler items in it than I was even anticipating. Before big chain video stores, local video stores handed out inventory lists to their patrons to encourage them to come in and rent a movie. This collection has some of these inventory lists!
Unboxing a 1978 Sony SL-8200
มุมมอง 3.2K2 ปีที่แล้ว
Just added a 1978 Sony SL-8200 Betamax player with the DT-30 digital timer to my collection. Both have original packaging and paperwork.

This is part 1 of the repair on a 1978 RCA VBT200 VCR, which was the first model VCR rea leased in the United States.
1980 Sony Betamax SL-5800 Time Commander
มุมมอง 6K2 ปีที่แล้ว
Repairing a Sony SL-5800. Really just a good cleaning and work out of the VCR since it had been dormant for years. This one has a working remote as well. Sorry for the change in orientation of the video.
1975 Sony K-60 Betamax Tapes
มุมมอง 1.3K2 ปีที่แล้ว
These are the original betamax tapes that would have been used to record on the very first betamax players Sony introduced in 1975. This is a full case of sealed tapes that will make an excellent addition to my collection and look great next to my Sony LV-1901.

whats are those slippers you're rocking my man?
My absolute dream basement 🙌 Hope I can make even a small corner look as cool as yours some day!
This made my day! How did you acquire the Toys "R" Us R? And is the blue phone in the kitchen hooked up to a landline yet?
Enjoyed the tour! Thanks!
Looks Great
Love the curtains!
Clearly we are cut from the same cloth 👍
Preserve as much as you can!
Coming together nicely!
Thanks! Hoping to make a lot of improvements in the next several months.
wow man so much cool stuff, enjoyed this sort of behind the scenes tour. haha all the closets in my house are filled up in a similar way but with records.
It's like there is never enough room. haha
Holy moly can I move in?!? 😅
always in awe of your basement. what a dream
Thank you for the tour! I hope you find the PERFECT green carpet for that one room. Looking forward to future updates!
Thanks so much! Hoping to get it installed soon. It will be a huge improvement.
FYI your new basement update video was labeled as "kids content" so the comments are turned off. It's looking EPIC!!!
Hey! Thanks for letting me know. I fixed that. Really appreciate it!
When showing the picture tube with video try shutting off the light shinning on the tube for better results.
This is so awesome I have to say you have got me more in CRT revival!
Amazing work buddy. Being a 90s kid this brings back so many memories.
How much does one of those run?
Any plans to get the matching TV stand?
Have you thought of obtaining a dvd player along with movie dvds! DVDs have a much better clearer sharp picture than a laser disc player. A dvd player would look great on any of your tvs there in terms of picture quality. I still own a Sony Wega 32" tv I bought back in August of 2007 and still going strong. Still has a sharp bright rich color picture.
Hi there bud, just discovered your channel, is there any way i can make contact with you using email, what i would like to discuss with you about the Sony TVs you have there at home and alot of discussion on ebay purchase of heavy 32" Sony Wega TVs, is this possible?
Brasil here.
Good lord my guy, cut away from yourself
I saw this and got itchy for one. Didn’t realize how rare old school nick stuff is so cool.
Hello, just curious where you source the replacement tape sensing lamp from. I have a model that's just like yours. And the bulb is burnt out and broke. Thank you.
id never leave that room. id live like its the 80s i would be playing the stroke by billy squier on a loop🤣
I wish we could be friends lol .. insta brought me here
Do you ever talk about how you get the possible charge ⚡️ out of the CRT? I have an old CRT I want to mess with BUT I want to make sure there is no charge in it. I see on YT how some people check, but wanted your experienced advice 😀. Just found you & subscribed…LOVE your ‘80s basement…Looks SOOO much like mine was 🥹
You seemed a bit upset 7:24 minutes in to the video 😂😅
PLAY ORIGINAL BI (4 CM/S)
I've had such a hard time finding a VP1000 in good shape. Glad to know I am not alone there. Excellent taste
Fantastic Video. What is the brand and model of the test instrument ?? Thanks a million, Jim
That TV is like a RCA Dimensia version of a Colortrak2000, fascinating. And thanks to part 2 I now know where I can finally find shag carpet thanks for all the info.
The loading motor started turning the wrong way and broke a piece off the cam gear on the right.
Would you believe I purchased one at an estate sale this past weekend! This camera requires plenty of light!
👍👍
Finally someone who appreciates wood paneling and shag carpet instead of people who just rip it out and paint everything White your videos are awesome you deserve way more subscribers
Adore these videos brother. Please keep em coming !
Thank you for sharing while unpacking and getting everything set up. I can’t wait to see the finished basement and these videos will be a great journey to that. I love seeing each piece come out of the boxes, especially those Super Mario Bros. movie figures. That is one of my favorite films and I have a couple original posters and a video store standee from it. I’d love to see a video on your original movie posters if you have time. I also collect original posters (horror mainly) and would love to see what you have. Thank you again for sharing.
Where do you sell your stuff?
I don't sell often, but I post the stuff I am selling in my stories on instagram.

دمت گرم کارت درست👏👏👍
Thank you for sharing this process with us! When you unwrapped the Gremlins lunchbox, the Sega Genesis, and the My Pet Monster, I fist pumped the air for you. I can't wait to see what more you unpack in the (hopefully) next installment!
Thanks! I think the next one will be about decorating the basement. You'll still see more of my collection.
@@vintagevideobasement I can't wait! When you get around to that KILLER kitchen, I'm gonna freak.
I love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks, Rob!
I love this video so much! Keep it up also, where do you get the shag rug?
Thank you! This one came from Rugs.com.
What was it like working with bryan cranston on the set of Breaking Bad?
Not as good as being married to Kirsten Dunst. haha
It’s like Christmas!
This is what I am on TH-cam for: sharing passion for old hardware. Gotta love that woodgrain stuff! You have some pretty nice devices there, congrats! Also good to see that you have a dedicated place for all of it. Very nice, looking forward to your next videos! All the best from a fellow CRT enthusiast, Cheers!
Really appreciate it!
Woodgrain on my old Fisher stand alone speakers ❤
I like the pool noodle trick to protect edges. I’ll have to remember that one.
Yeah, it worked it good! None of the TVs I've unpacked so far have had any damage, and I've unwrapped quite a few more off screen.
I've followed your instagram for a long time, this is awesome to hear you talk about some of your treasures! Excited to see more of the transformation of your new basement 📼❤
So cool, makes me want to fly over there and give you a hand setting it all up!
HAHA! Some help would be nice.
