A Wedgwood & Bentley basalt bowl. Of exceptional workmanship, arabesque decoration and engine turned base. And a good and clear Wedgwood & Bentley mark! It also feels significantly lighter than later 19th century Wedgwood basalt bowls. 13cm in circumference.

Jacobite triple portrait of a toast to the 'King over the Water' c. 1690
มุมมอง 22610 หลายเดือนก่อน
This presentation is the culmination of several year's research investigating the symbolism of Michael Dalh's triple portrait of three gentlemen drinking wine and eating bread. The central character passes a ring over the rim of a glass of red wine which this author interprets as a secret toast to the recently deposed King James II, who from 1688 was living in exile in France with his wife and ...
John Soane & JMW Turner- Architectural Influences at Sandycombe Lodge (Turner's House)
มุมมอง 11811 หลายเดือนก่อน
This video illustrates how 12 architectural features at Turner's House shows the influence of Turner's friend, John Soane. It presents the case that the house is an essay in the primitive and was the product of architectural discourses relating to the origins of architecture and correct use of form, application and decoration.

Freedom and Liberty!!
Very interesting! Thank you.
The marks here looks like 1860-80 period. But this is 18th century. Very cool saucerfuls. Thanks for video
Fantastic video and great items.
Nice caddy but your date is out I would say from the 1740s to 1750s and a very fine piece sir.
Agree....the brassescutcheon says c1740/50, the cavetto lid also looks more mid 18th rather than late although provincial pieces were behind London fashion in date.
Ricky! good day! Can I consult you about the Meissen tea pair? Thanks !
This is awesome. Thanks!

Interesting and well explained. Thank you.

Phenomenal work! Thank you! Do you have an email address I can contact you on?
The teapot is gorgeous. The urn with the white lid is interesting.
Phenomenal work
Excellent !
Thanks great to watch 👍
Nice to see intelligent books > Thanks.
Fantastic again
Thanks again!
Interesting & informative.
Great. 60+ years ago I was asked to guard an aristocrat's country 'cottage' & one bathroom was done out entirely with Wedgewood Greek gods. You've inspired us & so we purchased 4 Meissen pieces. Meissen/Dresden is well worth a visit + so is Stoke Museum for the Marc-Louis Solon Minton stuff.
Thanks ricky great job 👍
coming to you by Wednesday of this week...
Well done! As a book collector my mouth waters at some of the volumes [I have some & will hunt]. Thanks!
Delicious books - so where is part 2!? Got it!
Great job ricky 👍
Please can you let me know if you prefer the presentation with or without me in a video to the bottom right or just prefer the narration and audio? Thanks! Ricky
This is fascinating, and it's fun to get such a clear image of such tiny, intricate work. Just found your channel today, and I look forward to seeing more of your videos.

J ai une piece portant une ecriture symbolique tres bizare et une date. De1382 son porcelaine est comme les ecailles de poisson si tu es interesse dis moi comment t envoyer sa photto????????
I think von Tschirnhaus got a porcelain recipe from English sources. The 3 pieces of English porcelain from circa 100 years before Boettger's "discovery" circa 1708 I've heard about & one of them "disappeared" from Buckingham Palace. Von Tschirnhaus was a sneaky type & was involved in the Leibniz claim for the calculus & Spinoza copies/disputes etc = a shady character.
A great interest.
Like her commentary very clear
Great video. Thanks!
Toutes ces théières sont magnifiques 🤩
Beautiful pieces!!!
beautiful collection!
How awesome. Wonder how many are out there that no one has any clue of the secret tray! Did you discover it or were you told?
I was wondering that too - unless I knew to look for it, I'm pretty sure I would not have found it!
I knew it had a secret tray but it took me ages to work our where!
