YES is the greatest progressive rock band in my opinion. I just subscribed. I subscribe to anyone who reacts to them as will many other YES fans so keep them coming. Loads of greats including "Roundabout", "Awaken", "The Gates of Delirium", "Close to the Edge", "And You and I", "Turn of the Century", "Starship Trooper", "Perpetual Change", "The Revealing Science of God", lots more.

You need to go back to the 70's for the Yes magic. Start with Roundabout from the 1971 album Fragile. Studio version only. There you'll find the entrance to the rabbit hole 🙏

So, it’s a yes, to yes! Some other similarities to the Moody blues as they also had some really artistic album covers unlike the one that was here that you were playing from. Also, the synthesizer kind of reminded me what the Moody blues did earlier in their career with a melotron only it was more 80-ish. Again, they kind of fit into that progressive rock ‘n’ roll like Emerson Lake and Palmer, electric light, Orchestra, and a couple of others I can’t think of right now, but that’s my opinion anyway, some others might disagree. In fact, I believe there is an album of a full orchestra, playing some of their music as well.

THIS ONE is NOT 'LIVE' (audience sounds are from Winterland Ballroom, April 12, 1968 -I've bn told + 1st song on the Album LP/CD called "Combination of The Two" has INTRO from there)."Ball and Chain" from the same Album was the only one actually recorded in concert at the Winterland, April 13th, 1968. I seen JJ+Big Brother&Co. October 13th, 1968, at the Cincinnati Music Hall when THEY (SHE) did THIS SONG-BUT-GUITARS(I play guitar)...the guitars are different - in the studio SAM (guitarist) was able to IMPROVE on the effects ...in 1968 - LIVE sound systems were - well - SHIT! Yeah that 'tremolo" is AWLSOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! + Samuel Houston Andrews + R.I.P. JANIS............. F.Y.I. Song was written by Janis & Sam +ALSO+ "Greatest Hits" cover PHOTO was from Cincy -SHE played here MANY TIMES (so long ago).

Shawn’s music transcends reality. Edgar Cayce talked about the Akashic Records, the Hebrews talked about the source in Kabbalah, in esoteric circles the Halls of Amenti are referenced as containing all of the knowledge held within perceivable reality. Shawn had access to that, as have many other beautiful, unique souls.

I saw UFO open for Rush in the late 70s, awesome concert!

Before Foghat Rod Price was a member of Savoy Brown Blues Band along with Roger Earle and Lonesome Dave and the great guitarist Kim Simmons in Dallas in 1971.

If you can play, you can play. And Rory can play. Doesn't matter if it Electric or Acoustic, the talent will still come through. Almost sounds like a Robert Johnson song, but it isn't. Similar style.

Alan "Blind Owl" Wilson does NOT get enough love for being as good a slide player as he was!

Yeah, Monterey Pop Festival 1967 was an amazing showcase for many of the bands who were massive a couple of years later. The WHO, Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Grateful Dead, Mama's and Papa's, Canned Heat...and the list goes on. Canned Heat bringing the HEAT right here.

It's a clarinet he's playing, just to clear things up. He's a multi-instrumentalist known for his saxophone work, but here he is playing a clarinet. You got it right in your video when you said it was a clarinet. Cheers 🍺

I saw UFO, in early 1978, they were the middle band, Max Webster played first, then UFO, then RUSH! Top 5 concert, & I saw Zeppelin, Bowie twice, Joe Walsh twice, The Stones, ZZ Top, Fleetwood Mac, & many others! But the 3 at this one concert was phenomenal! Better than any TX Jams I attended!

For something completely different (but awesome) check out their first album The Magnificent Moodies from 1965. If possible use the 50th Anniversary box set which also includes the band's shelved second album as it is a bridge between the two iterations of the band.

Was at this show in ‘78 - Amphitheater in Chicago. We saw them all, Rush, Maiden, Priest, Scorpions (btw, Michael Schenker’s bro Rudolph was in the Scorpions )If you like solos, let the next song play 😉

Captain and Me is a great album. “What Were Once Vices are Now Habits” is another good one. Songs like South City Midnight Lady is a gem. I’m sure you may have heard Black Water and China Grove

The speed and precision are mindblowing. But the really hard part is making it flow into a perfect musical statement. Any hickup of hesitation or overstreching would spoil the whole effect.

Never mind your Hendrix, your Brian May, your Jimmy Page, your anybody else, this man was and remains THE best live blues/rock performer of all time. Fantastic that you're showing a video from Belfast. My home town. Rory was born in Donegal, raised in Cork, but became the man he was in Belfast, and kept going there throughout the Troubles, when no-one else would set foot in the place. The guy is just a legend. I'm well educated, but I just don't have the words to describe the impact this guy has had on my soul. When things are going south, watching this guy perform brings me to a different place. RIP, Rory, your influence, your passion, your impact, your genius live on.
